If they added horses to the series they could name it the runners or something and they do the same thing they did with the cats the dogs and the bears why not add horses to the fourms they wouldnt have to make books for it but if they want the could... I thank it would be intersting if they could do that.... if not thats fine to I just had a good idea. And some people might be more intrested and keep people comeing in and not loseing people... idk its just a thought

I think this is OTD, and not a warriors related section, but regardless, horses did appear before.

There were horses though? The Horseplace and all that?
Also yeah this is OTD not an Erin Hunter subsection

I once read a fanfic about warriors with horses. They had hay-patrols and there was a "war" at the end of part 1 (yes they killed each other). The whole thing was horrible.

I mean, they have lions, dogs, and bears, so why not. Heck, they could even do one about sheep if they wanted.

Hoping this thread isn't too dead. Equine Science major and all-around horse nerd, here. Hypothetically speaking, this series would work easier if it was about wild horse herds instead of domesticated horses (I mean Walter Farley's done pretty much the same thing with his The Island Stallion and The Black Stallion series, but a n y w a y.) Bands are usually made up of a dominant stallion and his group of mares and yearlings, often with a lead mare and with some bands having lieutenant stallions. Colts often leave the band when they're around two years old and often form bachelor gangs with other young stallions. Of course, family groups don't always stay the same: Rival stallions and bachelors are always on the lookout to steal another stallion's band (or even just a mare). And fillies or mares in heat will sometimes go off in search of the closest stallion. Stallions will also fight each other if one is trying to steal the other's band. These fights are not pretty (and as anyone who has been around horses will tell you, they can do a lot of damage and being kicked or bitten hurts—yes, I speak from personal experience). (Though sometimes band stallions will play around with young bachelor stallions before returning to their family.) Aside from wild horse society, there's also thunderstorms, natural predators (cougars, bears, wolves, depending on region), and the BLM roundups (which more often than not leave the horses with serious and sometimes fatal injuries from galloping at breakneck speeds over rough terrain). So, theoretically speaking... this could work if it was written well. (Though if you're interested in seeing how a series like this would work, I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Cloud: Wild Stallion of the Rockies by Ginger Kathrens—I've met her two or three times in person at some workshops in Colorado; she's great. If you can't get the book, watch the documentary online.)

I'm not really a fan of horses, and I feel as though Warriors, Seekers, Survivors, and Bravelands are enough honestly. Though, I'm not entirely against the idea of a new Erin Hunter series on horses. Maybe it could happen once Warriors is finished - whenever that'll be - or when Survivors is finished. who knows? But four different Erin Hunter series is probably more than enough to be honest.

Horses would be a lot harder to do, because of all the healing and stuff. Personally I would rather have one for wolves but horses sound really good. There are some people obsessed with horses so they would probably sell.
