"I am a child of a Money hungry, prideful country Grass is green and it's always sunny Hands so bloody, tastes like honey I'm finding it hard to leave"
Two households, both alike in dignity in fair Verona is where we lay our scene....Welcome to 2017, or as the kids say #2k17! You know the story of fair Verona, of the two feuding families, whose children fell for one another and in one of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies, gave their lives in the name of love. Well, this is fair Verona in it's modern age. This story, that we are about to tell you, is much different than the one you know. For one thing, it's many, many, many years post the original publication. For another thing, these houses are different - powerful in more than money - and they have never heard the cautionary tale of the young lovers Romeo and Juliet.
[ this role play is a small group role play in which the children of these two families are continuing the war between families. This is NOT a romance role play. Here we will explore themes of Murder, Greed, Lust (not to be mistaken for love), and Magic. NOTICE: This is a PG-13 roleplay, so while we are exploring dark themes, I intend for us to stay away from details of the violent and bedroom kind. The names of the houses are the same from Romeo and Juliet because I'm uncreative. The role play itself will focus on ten characters, five from each family. Various ages, occupations, and opinions, but the families are tight knots. The idea of this role play revolves around Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Hatfields v. Mccoy's. ]

Before we get into the juice of the role play, I do need to put down some ground rules. Please read through all of my rules. I personally hate reading through rules, but they can be important and should be read. Let me start with something very important: Trigger Warning: Mentions of Violence, Death (Murder/Suicide), Mental Illness, Sex, ect. This is a dark-themed role play and I don't want anyone having a panic attack or to be triggered so here is my warning. Okay, this role play is rated PG-13, despite it's darker themes, so no detailed descriptions of any of the things mentioned above in the trigger warning. Literally, the mentions are just that - mentions. Next, this role play is mostly realistic: no unnatural hair or eye colors (unless they dyed their hair a color because this does take place in 2017), but your characters will have powers. Speaking of powers, do not power-play or god-mob and you're not going to be the most powerful, or your power isn't going to always work or hit it's mark, okay? Most of the characters powers should be fully formed, remember, so there should be any "he lost control, still learning to maintain his abilities without hurting someone" or something like that. The code phrase is 'art thou romeo?' Put it in spoilers in your joining page post, at the bottom of it. Our characters have real jobs, remember, or they're college students. For college students, we'll just say they take their classes online or they're on break or something. This is an advanced role play. To me, that's detailed posts, interesting characters, character development, ect. No less than 5-8 sentences per role play post, although I would prefer more. No, this does not mean with you have to post in subs or tiny text or anything silly like that, although I most often will. Oh, another thing: make sure we know when you're role playing and when you're just chatting, like for instance use [ ],{ },( ), < > so we know. Along with all this, keep in mind that if you join this, I expect you to be active and try to post daily. In order to keep the plot moving, we need to be actively engaged in role playing, so posting just to chat does not add up to you being active. Sorry for that long thing of rules. Just to summarize: PG-13, advanced rp, be active, be realistic, and have fun. also, it should be noted that this takes place in Verona, Italy, so yes, our characters will know Italian. However, this role play is in English, so dialogue will be in English [90% of the time] we'll just pretend that they're speaking in Italian. Also, their names should be of Italian origin please.
For assistance when deciding age, here are the age ranges for the eldest-youngest. Be sure to note how old the sibling before and after them are. I.e. If the first born is 27 and the third born is 25, the second born can only be 26. 1st Born: 26-28 2nd Born: 25-27 3rd Born: 22-25 4th Born: 20-23 5th Born: 19-21. members [5] #spots open hx of sx x admin ;; lucius montague [m], nicolina capulet [f]. screenname x member ;; montague [m/f], capulet [m/f] screenname x member ;; mantague [m/f], capulet [m/f]. screenname x member ;; montague [m/f], capulet [m/f] screenname x member ;; mantague [m/f], capulet [m/f].

Montague Household;; Ah, the Montague Household. Marked by their...less than cooperative personality traits, they are a tireless foe. You can always count on them to be dedicated to their family, creative with their decision making, and resourceful in a fight. Described as hot-headed and temperamental, if you get on their bad side prepare for a storm. Incredibly loud an pretentious, they like to one up their neighbors, and give their adversaries a run for their money. They are deceptive and cruel, but also charismatic and versatile. They tend to rely heavily on their faith and they have much religious zeal. Their upbringing tends to be kind of harsh, they rarely felt warmth - they've been raised to strike and kill, similar to snakes. They are kinder toward their siblings, more compassionate, definitely more loyal, but as a rule of thumb, Montague's trust no one, not even the ones they've been raised alongside. something to note about the Montague's: Their father is deceased, the eldest two children experienced much of his wrath when he was angry/drunk. The mother of those aged 20+ left when the eldest child was 9 and the other mother (if there happens to be another mother, determined by the ages of the characters) died in childbirth (that of the youngest child). in order of oldest to younger: Lucius Pietro [ m ] ;; hemokenisis; this particular user of hemokenisis uses blood transformation (turning matter into blood), thermovariance (boil target's blood), blood pressure (control blood pressure of targer), and blood healing (healing through blood) - tends not to ue ability, relies on other forms of combat. x The eldest Montague is also the most powerful Montague. This character is well known for his concentration and ability to stick to the plan; however, he is also coarse and unforgiving. A dangerous enemy, a loving brother. negative traits: coarse, unforgiving, conceited, blase; positive traits: ambitious, concentrated, intelligent, disciplined. claimed [ m ] ;; electromagnetism manipulation; this particular user of electromagnetism manipulation uses electrical telekinesis (manipulate matter using electricity/electromagnetism), electromagnetic attacks (release/use electromagnetism to attacks of various shapes and/or intensities), gravity negation (causing things to rise from the ground), and density manipulation (manipulate the density and solidity of object or part of the object). x The second oldest Montague is nearly as powerful as his brother. This character is a brute and alongside his brother with the ability to earth manipulation, he is the "muscle" of the operation. negative traits: brutish, hot-tempered, impatient, loud; positive traits: accountable, charismatic, dedicated, innovative. Heck-raiser [ m ] ;; earth; this particular user of earth manipulation uses burrowing (gliding through earth), Cause (causing earthquakes, mudslides, avalanches, or quicksand), geokinetic surfing (riding earth materials, such as boulders), and Move (Lift/move heavy earth objects, like rocks.) x The third Montague Sibling, best friends with the second, and fearful of the first. The more level headed sibling, between him and his electromagnetic brother. One of the "muscles" of the Montague family. negative traits: brutish, submissive, cunning, impatient; positive traits: faithful, practical, hardworking, alert. Spitfire [ f ] ;; fire; this particular user of fire manipulation uses Burn/Melt (melts or burns objects), fire negation (fire doesn't hurt them), pyro-telekinesis (use fire to heat the air surrounding an object and use that to lift the object via fire or heated air), and flame maipulation (like fireballs and stuff). x The second youngest Montague is one of the toughest to deal with. She doesn't care about getting along well with others and being the first to strike. Quick to fight, but also has high belief in her abilities. She can be a pain, even among siblings. negative traits: impatient, feisty, sarcastic, arrogant; positive traits: resourceful, alert, assertive, innovative. Control Freak [ f ] ;; electricity; this user of electricity manipulation uses electric blast (release electricity over a specific target area), zap (tiny short release of electricity to cause pain or discomfort, usually too low-powered to be destructive), passive electroreception (senses the weak bioelectric fields generated by living beings and uses it to locate them) and lightning rods (creates small lightnight rods and can, like, throw them) x The youngest Montague, has many similarities to her oldest brother, but also some of her own things. Like, she has this intense need for everything to be done exactly how she says, exactly when, ect...doesn't mean this always happens, which can result in tantrums, but still. negative traits: controlling, impatient, easily annoyed, sarcastic; positive traits: punctual, charismatic, dedicated, alert.
Capulet Household ;; If you're looking for that tight-knit family who has each others back and their few cause for concern on the "can I trust my brother?" front, then you'll most definitely find the Capulet househould. Attentive and compassionate, they put family first, and then right behind that adventure and excitement. They love a good expedition. Among each oter they are imaginative and expressive. Toward their enemies, however, they can be a bit less...friendly. They are rowdy and can be rough, they're often scheming and they enjoy pulling pranks and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. They can be childish and clingy and they act careless a lot of the time, putting themselves into unwanted danger. They can be inappropriate and facetious and while they love each other, they don't always get along with others. something to note about the Capulet's: they are very serious about family loyalty, nothing is more important to them than family. On top of this, their father is alive but INCREDIBLY elderly, due to the fact that their mother married a rich guy who's age didn't matter to her. Their mother died, however, in a fatal accident. in order of oldest to youngest: The Eldest [ f ] ;; weather manipulation; this user of weather manipulation uses aerial adaptation (survive and adapt to extremely high or low air pressure (not becoming disoriented or deprived of the normal breathing capacity), weather attacks (release/use the weather to attacks of various intensities, shapes, and sizes), weather negation (negate any/all weather effects), and weather sensing (sense what kind of weather will be coming) x this eldest sister, while she is the leader of her family, is disorganized, easily bored, and incredibly restless. Always has to be doing something, always on the move, but honestly she's just all over the place. negative traits: disorganized, easily bored, restless, picky; positive traits: adventurous, expressive, lively, nurturing. The Mediator [ f ] ;; lucidity; this user of lucidity manipulation uses confusion inducement (cause confusion (temporary interference with the clear working of targets mind) in a person or group of people), stupidity inducement (induce stupidity/goofiness with someone, causing targets to become clumsy or incoherent), psychic construct (change psychic energy into tools, objects, weapons and other items), and intelligence reduction (decrease the intelligence of others or themselves). x The second oldest Capulet is probably the most powerful, and her being the mediator of her siblings makes it a lot easier for your stomach to settle. While dangerous, this Capulet prefers to keep calm and collected, much against that of the Capulet ways, and she is the wise word of the house, her older sister's right hand woman. negative traits: clumsy, restless, clingy, easily bored; positive traits: attentive, generous, loyal, reliable. Mr. Too Serious [ m ] ;; nature manipulation; this user of nature manipulation uses nature attacks (release/use nature/natural energy for attacks of various shapes and/or intensities), zoolingualism (understand the speech or emotions of animal life forms), enviromental adaption (survive and adapt to any natural environment), and ecological empathy (sense the overall well-being and conditions of their immediate environment and natural setting stemming from a psychic sensitivity to nature) x One so in tune with nature, you expect to be calm and reassuring, right? Well, for the most part you're wrong in the case of this character. They take everything seriously and more of than not, literal. Probably the most educated Capulet. negative traits: picky, restless, obnoxious, scheming; positive traits: loyal, knowledgeable, trustworthy, cautious. Nicolina Honor [ f ] ;; air; this user of air manipulation uses air attacks (release/use air/wind to attacks of various shapes and/or intensities), aerokinetic flight (able to take flight by riding the air currents), atmospheric adaptation (lungs acclimatize and breathe in/on any gaseous mediums), and deflection (capable of deflecting most attacks, normally projectiles or blunt force) x The second youngest Capulet is one of the calmer, more compassionate Capulet's. This character is young and often naive, but she's a quick learner and not someone to be taken lightly. negative traits: childish, clingy, restless, absent-minded; positive traits: imaginative, compassionate, calm, attentive. claimed [ m ] ;; water/ice; this user of water/ice manipulation uses water walking (can walk or run on the surface of water), freezing (reduce the kinetic energy of atoms meaning they effectively make things colder), hydrokinetic constructs (turn water into tools, objects, weapons and other items), and ice attacks (release/use ice/cold to attacks of various shapes and/or intensities) x The youngest Capulet is certainly the most childish. Well, he's the baby of the family and is constantly treated like it so he acts like it. He's also the one who uses his ability the most. negative traits: childish, careless, wild, easily bored; positive traits: curious, energetic, lively, playful.

Verona, the city between Milan and Venice, is a wonderful place to indulge in art, architecture, and opera. The city is on the Adige river in Italy, just outside of the Alps. The weather is hot in the summer, and cold and humid in the winter. Remains of the colony of 89 BC can still be found in the city. To the north of Verona are vineyard, famous wine cellars, and the mountains where you can hike and ski.
Verona has several places of interest, including:
The Roman Amphitheater x Commonly known as the Arena, this monument is a symbol of this city. Formerly used for hosting gladiator matches in the first century, the Arena is now a popular tourist attraction. The grand structure takes on a chromatic appearance, from the exterior being covered with both bricks and marble. x This is the designated meeting place for the Capulet's and their colluders.
The Church of San Zeno Maggiore x A model of Roman architecture, the church dates back to the 12th century. Paintings upon the wall and statues decorate the inside. x The church is a designated safe space away from the feud. No quarrels are to occur here.
Verona Bridges x Seeing as the city of Verona is set on the Adige river, bridges play a vital role in the layout of the city. The oldest bridge, the Stone Bridge, links the Roman Theatre to the city center. Many of the bridges have been rebuilt after they were bombed or collapsed. x In the early 2000's, a Montague boy was killed by a Capulet here.
Castelvecchio x This fortress was built to defend the city from not only external dangers, but also from internal riots after instability of power. It is linked to the Scaligero bridge, which provides an escape into the countryside. After the fall of the Scaligeri family, it was used as a weapons hold, and then a barracks. The fortress has the main courtyard and parade ground to the right, and the Scaligera mansion to the right. x This is the designated meeting place for the Montague's and their colluders.
Piazza delle Erbe x Formerly the city's square in the time of the Roman Empire, the Piazza delle Erbe, also known as the Market's square has been voted the most beautiful square in the world. To the north side is the town hall and Mazzanti Houses. The western side has the Baroque Palazzo Maffei. x Here, the families trade or buy products with inside links.
Veronese Carnival x This holiday lasts for two weeks before the Christian fasting of Lent. This is the most ancient Carnival in Europe, at 600 years old. x The Carnival is where the feud was officially declared.
The Villages x There are several villages near Lake Garda, such as Bardolino, Garda, Torri del Benaca, and Malcesine. You can cross the lake by boat or take tours to get to the other villages. x Here, the families meet locals to get the latest gossip from inside links. Both houses are incredibly close together, so close that when one goes to get the paper in the morning, there is often shouting and cursing heard from neighbor to neighbor. On top of that, both yards are incredibly beautiful - because they're always competing - and both houses have massive driveways.
From the outside, the Capulet home looks like:
And the Montague House looks like:
Both homes have many rooms, large kitchens, grand stair cases, a cleaning staff, lawn care. Each bedroom for each kid is different and designed to the taste of the kid.
