Lighting woke up a little. Flicking her ears when she noticed the look of panic in Ross's eyes. She opened her eyes all the way and lifted her head. "Is everything alright?" She asked worriedly, looking right to the other tom. She relaxed a little when she noticed the tom was sound asleep.

Soon, the morning came. Ross stretched and looked st Lightning, gently prodding her with a paw as always before stretching and adjusting his eyes to the sunlight.

Lightning woke up and stretched out as far as she could, her shoulder was barely hurt anymore. She yawned and blinked open her eyes. She let her head rest on her paws as she gazed at Ross, then turned to the tom. She hoped he would be alright, she was slightly worried she might have done something wrong.

Mikel knew he was awake from, not only the sun beating down on his fur and making his headache worse, but also the throbbing pain in his leg. The pain was bearable, however, compared to the day before. He was really grateful to those cats that had helped him. If they hadn't helped him, he could be dead too... Mikel flicked an ear and opened one eye, trying to squint it away from the bright lights of the sun shining through the trees. He coughed, trying to raise his head up, the throbbing in his head slightly better. "...good morning." He murmured, noticing the other two were awake. A part of him knew they'd helped him, but the other part was still wary. They were still strangers, and he didn't know where came from or what they were doing out here. Maybe they were just lost and alone, like he was.

Ross nodded at the tom respectfully, getting up with a small yawn and looking around. "''Morning." He said gruffly. "Are you feeling any better? You took quite some heavy hits in your battle with the fox." He remarked with slight, grudging admiration before shaking out his fur and letting the sunlight warm it.

Lightning yawned as she watched the two toms talk, she got to her paws and stretched, her pelt gleaming in the sunlight. She wandered off wordlessly as she searched for some prey. She was hungry and she guessed that the other tom would be too, and he couldn't hunt for himself. She wandered a little farther, unable to hear the toms anymore as she searched. It wasn't long until she found traces of a vole rummaging around. She quickly scented it out then carefully and quietly stalked it until she was a fox length away, luckily it had its back to her as it ate a root. Quickly, she leaped and swiftly bit its neck and killing it instantly. She purred with satisfaction as she continued to look. By the time Lightning was heading back, she had two mice that she cornered together, a vole and a shrew on her jaws. She quietly padded back to the toms and placed it all down. She was very shocked with how well she hunted today. This was the first time she came back with so much prey at once. She quietly took the vole and began to eat it, laying beside a big rock.

Ross stared at Lightning with wide eyes. "Wow.....that was impressive." He purred lightheartedly, padding over with a smirk. "Good job, Lightning." He remarked.

Lightning purred. "Thank you!" She meowed and finished up her vole. She ran her tongue along her pelt and looked up at the bright sky. She wondered what she would do today.

"Yeah...I'm feeling a bit better, thanks." Mikel murmured, trying to stand slightly to shake out the dirt and other things from his matted fur. The pain was still there, but because of the herbs Lightning had given him, he felt way better than he would have. He began to lick at some spots on his fur, cleaning and grooming himself. While doing so, he felt it better to strike up a conversation with Ross, noticing Lightning walk off to hunt. "So, I never got your actual names...? I'm Mikel, by the way." When Lightning brought back the prey, Mikel gave her a warm smile and nodded in gratitude, taking a few bites of it. It was so good! It felt like he hadn't had anything to eat in a long time. He didn't eat yesterday, he knew that much. And he barely had time to eat the day before, because of the foxes... He sighed and took the last bite, suddenly feeling sick to his stomach. Maybe it was best not to eat so much right now.

Ross shrugged. "That's true. I'm Ross, nice to meet you Mikel." He replied cordially with a little dip of his head, turning to Lightning.

Lightning looked up, her pelt warm as she spoke. "I'm Lightning." She murmured quietly. She yawned and went back to grooming.

Mikel smiled, feeling more welcome here than before. He took another bite of the prey and then pushed the whole thing aside. He stood up on all four, trying to put more pressure on his injured paw. It was difficult, and it still hurt a lot, but he was able to use it. It wasn't broken, at least. "...I got attacked by foxes. I think they're out of the area now, though." He whispered, not sure if he'd told them what happened in his ill-minded stupor, "They, uh, hurt me and my friends, but I think they ran back off, towards the twoleg place." The idea that the couple of foxes were heading in the direction of Shortie made him queasy, but he was sure her owners would fend them off if the foxes were stupid enough to actually get near their dens.

"At least they're not near us right now. Where are your friends?" Ross asked curiously. Perhaps they were hurt badly too and needed assistance. He looked at Lightning for a moment, wondering if what he said was the wrong question to ask. "Should we go to see if the foxes are completely gone?"

Lightning tensed as he mentioned friends. If he came out of a fox attack alone, most likely his friends didn't make it. She sighed and sat up, staying quiet. She didn't want to bake the Tom feel any worse than he probably did.

"Um..." Mikel lowered his ears against his head, the images of Sherlock and Donovan bloody and mangled still in his mind, "T-they didn't make it." He cleared his throat, "T-the foxes...we can go find them, if you want? I wouldn't mind tearing through some fur to get them to go away." The thought of ripping his claws through the foxes skin sent a shiver down his spine. Oh...how he would enjoy that. What they did to Sherlock and Donnie...they deserved it.

"I..I'm so sorry." Ross choked out, trying to shake images from his head. "But no, we can't fight now. You are still injured, and you need to rest." He replied firmly.

Lightning watched and flattened her ears to her head in sorrow. No cat deserved to die here. Especially to a fox. She placed her tail gently on the Toms shoulder. "We will evenge them, you just need to worry about healing right now." She promised him. She moved away and began to sort her herbs out to apply them to him again.

"...I understand. It's hard. But..." Mikel gave a small cough, his throat closing up as another wave of grief hit him. He couldn't think about this anymore. It would only hurt more. "A-anyway, what are you two doing out here? Are you previous kittypets? Are you from somewhere else?" He had heard there were a lot of wild cats out here, the reason Sherlock wanted to spend so much time training in battle moves. He knew something would eventually happen and they'd come up on another cat's territory. Mikel just hoped this wasn't the cat's territory he was intruding on.

"N..No. I've been a rogue for longer than I can remember, then I met Lightning and we've been here for a while now." Ross replied, slightly flustered and embarrassed by this question. "You are close to my territory though." He added, just for good measure.

Lightning sat quietly once more as she listened to them talk. She didn't feel like speaking up but she enjoyed listening to them chat. It was nice now that things have calmed down a little.

Coconut|Kittypet|She-Cat A slender brown she-cat with ocean blue eyes, and a white underbelly + tail along with a green collar. She is adventures and curious of the world around her, and would explore the forest, whenever she wasn't in her twoleg house or laying in the sun.
She is forward, and not really afraid to make new friends.

"Ah, o-oh. Understood." Mikel gave him a half smile, though inside he knew he'd stepped over a line. The two were probably really close and he'd interrupted something...he hoped not, but there was this weird tension in the air. "Anyway, I'm feeling a bit better. Is there anything I can help do? Since, ya know, I'm on your territory?" He asked, eyes soft, "I can help hunt a bit. I may not be the best, but...I can try." He let out a soft mrrow of chuckles. (hello there! your cat sounds really cool!)

"I think that's up to Lightning, I'm not the best at judging things." Ross laughed lightly, looking over at Lightning and giving her a nudge. "What do you say?" He asked her.

Lightning nodied, releaved they stopped talking about their relationship. "Don't over work it. Only light work." She meowed sternly. If he overworked it, his cuts could reopen and she would have to redo it. And shewas already lacking herbs.

"Alright, thanks, Ross," Mikel stood up on all four again, trying to stretch out his back. It hurt his legs, and his head was still pounding, but it felt much MUCH better than before. "And don't worry, I'll be careful. I'll try not to overwork my wounds. I know that probably wouldn't do any good at the moment." He glanced around, wondering in what direction they should start at. It was strange, really. He had no idea about this territory, at all. He and Sherlock and Donnie hadn't been able to check around the territory much before...well. And they hadn't encountered Ross yet either, even though this was his area. Mikel would just let Ross lead, then.

Ross nodded. "I know a good hunting spot down by the stream, there's fish." He said brightly, yearning for something different other than squirrels or mice. Plus, fish were easy to catch. With a little dip of his head to Lightning, he lead the way boldly until he reached the small stream that sparkled with silver fish darting through the water. Going over and waiting for Mikel to catch up, he yawned. "You can go first if you'd like."

Mikel followed, if just slightly behind because of his limp. Once he got to the stream and to where Ross was sat, he looked down over the edge of the stream, hesitantly. "U-um...okay." He crouched, letting his tail stay calm behind him. All was quiet, and eventually he could see small fish swim to the surface of the stream, moving in the direction of the water. He caught eye on one, a pale color and a bit bigger than the others, so he flexed his paw into the water quickly, letting his claws dig into the flesh of the fish. He'd caught it! However, while trying to tug the fish out, it splashed it's tail against the water sharply, scaring Mikel just enough to release his claws, getting soaked in water from the splash. The fish landed on the ground, flapping rapidly, trying to move closer to the stream. "No no no no" Mikel moved forward and let his fangs sink into the fishes flesh, killing it. With a sigh, he sat back. God. So, this was his first fish...well, the first one he'd ever caught semi-successfully, anyway.
