Atsushi blinked in, absentmindedly playing with the end of his black tie with his fingerless gloved hands. The shapeshifter jumped, holding back an undignified squawk of surprise, taking a defensive stance and scanning the current situation. ..He hadn't been here for a few days, right? So this wasn't some random hallucination? Despite the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, he was still visibly spooked by the whole ordeal. The shapeshifter glanced over at the person closest to him; Noctin. He seemed younger than himself, yet his presence implied he was experienced...
Thankfully, the pale-haired boy did not notice Noctin's humming as he approached, already feeling awkward and unsure of how to address him. "Excuse me..?" Great.
Noctin glanced up when he saw someone begin to approach him out of the corner of his eye. He'd never met this person before, though nowadays that was hardly a surprise. Noctin figured that this person must be new given how uncomfortable they looked in the House. In the living room at that. Luckily for Atsushi, Noctin was in a decent mood and could probably explain the House without snapping at him. "Hello," he replied. "You're new, right?"
"Oh! Uh.. yes, pretty much. This is the second time I've been here and.. I didn't exactly get any good answers first time around," Atsushi elaborated on his situation quickly, nervously touching the back of his neck for a brief second. "This place is called the Paradox House, right?" His purple-gold eyes looked over at the living room, just to make sure that once again nothing was out to kill him.
Noctin nodded, watching Atsushi continue to glance around the room like it was going to fall on him. "This is the Paradox House and right now we're in the living room. It's one of the two safe places in this place, so you can relax," he said. Well, it was safe from House dangers, not from blinker dangers. Though Noctin assumed Atsushi hadn't been around long enough to make any enemies who wanted to kill him on the spot. "The other safe place is the hallway. It's just the rooms you have to look out for. Some are alright but others can be life or death."
Nico opened his eyes, watching Noctin and Atsushi. Noctin was doing a pretty good job explaining the house, but Nico figured it would do him some good to converse with people, no matter how much he despised the idea. Maybe he could make friends eventually. Miracles happened. The demigod stood up soundlessly and walked towards Atsushi and Noctin, giving a small nod of greeting.
Atsushi listened carefully, and his shoulders dropped with visible relief at Noctin's words. "If you say so." A brief pause, as if he was satisfied with this. "..But what kind of 'life or death' rooms are we talking about?" Despite the fact the definition he gave terrified the shapeshifter just a little, he might as well just nip that in the bud and understand the circumstances a little better.
Seeing Nico approach, his body language briefly tensed again; However, quickly coming to realize the demigod meant no harm, he forced himself to calm down and gave him a small, trying smile.
Noctin shrugged slightly. "Rooms where you either live or die. The House really doesn't have a pattern. Sometimes it turns us against each other and sometimes we fight other things." Other things encompassed most of the fighting rooms Noctin had been in. The clones, the beasts, the robot spiders. All of them different and all of them deadly. "Are you able to fight and defend yourself?" he asked, trying to gauge if this newbie was going to be helpless or not. Noticing Nico, he gave the demigod a short nod.
"You make it out of most of them alive," Nico added, surprisingly optimistic. "There are some that you just can't. Don't make any enemies and you'll be fine. There aren't a lot of people here who like to watch others die," he explained, crossing his arms. There were too many people who had died, but there were also too many people who'd give anything to stop someone from dying. It was a delicate balance. Sometimes Nico thought it'd be easier if they all hated each other.
Atsushi seemed unsure for a few moments. "..I can," he said slowly, "But it's something I don't quite understand nor control yet." Perhaps being honest is the best choice you can make if you want to stay on good terms with people. As much as he'd love to say he's a plain human being, what if he lost control? It would be a very convenient circumstance if someone like Dazai-san had the ability to quickly and abruptly neutralize his other form, but he certainly did not want to bet on that happening. "I'm not a burden though," he gradually said again. "I understand my way around a fight." Okay, maybe that was a little lie. He'd honestly prefer to turn tail and run in the opposite direction if a situation escalated into a fight.. Well, whatever. All he'd have to do is avoid the dangerous rooms, right?
Noctin's eyes narrowed at Atsushi's words. "Is it dangerous?" he asked darkly. Though he considered any power one didn't quite understand or control to be dangerous, he did want to know how deadly it might be if this newbie lost control. He'd like to stop any deaths from happening if he could. As if that would ease his guilt and finally put his mind to rest. Noctin was a little too worked up to catch Atsushi's slight fib, so he simply nodded, glad that he could at least handle himself in a fight.
Nico frowned for a second before nodding. "As long as you've got some means of protecting yourself and you don't actively try to hurt others you'll be fine." He said, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Hey, even if you can't protect yourself you'll be fine but in that case you'll have to be pretty good at making friends who can help you." The demigod fell silent, glancing at the other end of the room. He wouldn't mind going down the hallway and facing a room.
"..I think it's only dangerous if you're the last thing alive in the room," Atsushi murmured, voice low. He spoke normally again. "It happens when I feel like I'm in enough danger.. Like it's a last resort. I'm not sure how bad it is.."
The shapeshifter looked at Nico steadily. While he had no idea on how to make friends, as he's never exactly had any depressingly enough.. "Yeah, I understand. This feels like the last place I'd want to be alone in.." While the threat of physical danger was reassured as minimal, the living room's dimly lit disarray still gave him the creeps. Atsushi's eyes briefly widened as the demigod abruptly blinked out, but recalled this was normal and it was the person returning to their world.

(I can post the thread but idk how active I'll be)
Arlo blinked in, asleep on the couch with a grey and black jacket draped over her. She shifted slightly, causing bits of her light blonde hair to fall across her face, but didn't wake up. It had been awhile since her last blink , she'd probably be glad to know she was still blinking. (Sorry for the short post, I can't really think of a way to make a post about a sleeping Arlo longer and it's 430))

A gruff male with blue, knight-like attire blinked into the room, looking rather bored. Gripping his green spear, he let out a long whistle, glancing curiously around the room. Could this be the place he was summoned? Where was his Master? Spotting a beautiful girl, he grinned playfully, strolling over to her. "Little miss, you must be the person who summoned me, right?" He questioned hopefully as he slowly knelt on one knee, "Servant Lancer reporting for duty, Master."
