That sounds really interesting! Do you have an example, or a link to one of them so I can take a look, maybe I could try to adapt my idea to fit it? What I was sort of thinking for the skills idea has quite a few similarities with the new prophecy game on warrior cats, which is originally where I adapted the idea from.

- - - This might sound strange at first, but what about rocks/minerals. This isn't in the territory description, but what happens if there were old mines at the outskirts of each territory? Each mine had a different rock/mineral and the clans were named after that? (sorry not a great idea I know, I just am trying to think of less mainstream clan names).

I was actually going to possibly suggest that.
Here's the link, I think we'll need to adapt both ideas so they mesh properly. I was thinking of adding some things as well. Perhaps we can have a section on the pages that is called "Clan Systems" where it has the charts and some general rules like number of cats in certain patrols.

- - - First off, I absolutely love the whole idea/layout of the chance chart, it's amazing and must've taken a lot of time to do.
What I was thinking is when someone first joins, they fill out a joining form. When filling this out, if they wish to leave something up to chance, they can put a *. So for example... |*paw| if they wish for us to decide the prefix, or |leaf*| if they wish for us to decide the suffix. With the description, we could do it so upon joining, they decide the cats characteristics, but if one of their characters decides to have kits, we decide 2/5 traits for each kit to ensure diversity. With kits we could roll a dice, and that is how many kits they have. If Cloverleap rolls a three, she will have three kits. She can request to have a black kit, a grey kit, and a ginger kit, and request one gender. We decide if black kit has a white paw and is a tom, greykit has dark tabby stripes etc. That way we can monitor genders closely. The role player could also opt to give the kits for other people to roleplay which helps keep diversity. Then with skills, said role player could request their cat excels in 3 areas, or optionally could go completely random. The skills could be marked out of 10, and if they request 3 areas to excel in, 1=9 2=8 3=7 Medicine Cat/Apprentice can only excel in certain categories. There could be possible penalties for low numbers eg A cat who has less than a 3 in parenting cannot kit?
These are just some brief ideas.

Hmm, I'm not sure about "cannot" because it makes some interesting drama. (Ex. Crowfeather, Spiderleg.) Should we decide different categories for the Clans? The only issue with that is when there is a forbidden romance resulting in kits, but I'm sure we can figure it out. :3 I was also thinking that the current leaders would decide the warrior names for apprentices, similar to the books.

- - - Maybe they can request an exception? It's just so not every single cat has kits, and it could keep the kit population in the clan down. I like the idea that the leader decides the clan names, I personally find it more exciting when things are more realistic to the books. What categories were you thinking of sorry?

What we could do is have fertility instead of parenting. As for the categories, I thought we would have strength, agility, speed, stalking, fishing, swimming, climbing, etc. We could come up with "core" ones and then add the ones that would have the cats differ from the other Clans.

Hmm, my concern about that is if the character is usually social and outspoken, it may be hard for someone to make them the opposite of that.

Hmm, maybe: { Name | Age | Gender } Physical Description. [Maximum of ten lines, minimum of five.] Positive | Neutral | Negative Strength | Hunting | Intelligence | Speed | Fertility | Tracking | Special | Special { Tagged Member } The positive, neutral, and negative would be the major personality traits they have, below is the skill set with two special skills that belong to the Clan the cat is in. I also changed the description because no one will want to fill out a form twice, so instead of a "long" description, they would need to be in the range provided to offer room for other cats. Again, leadership and healing may be hard to monitor because if someone signs up as a medicine cat and they don't have high enough points for healing, it could negatively impact the Clan when they need a medicine cat. Leadership would be difficult because some people have trouble with role-playing leaders and it can also give some people the wrong idea. What I mean is, someone could think that they should be deputy and future leader just because they have those points. I've had plenty of people act like their character was suitable for deputy when they were honestly being a pain.

- - - Perhaps something like charisma, or authority, which could be useful in patrols, and could make a cat more likely to get an apprentice? I'm not sure, i just thought it might be good to have something social in there which could help decide. Of course it's up to you though!
Would someone joining be able to choose 2 characteristics, or would you prefer it all random?

- - - I have an idea. Perhaps when they join, they create a character as normal, they write */10 for each skill themselves, but joining as a kit/apprentice means there is a certain level of chance to it. For instance, if they are active roleplayers, the apprentice gains more skill in certain areas, and mentors gain mentoring experience. Also with kits, we could have "base" skills which are dice rolled, then as an apprentice, they build on those skills, and the number can go up to a certain extent. So for instance Petalpaw hunting 4/10 +2 If they are inactive, the +2 will go to +1 and eventually 0, then -1 -2 until the character is deleted. Pregnant cats have a dice roll for number/color of kits, and we can incorporate the chance chart into that. Then as your chance chart says about fighting/sickness, we can use that too? Does that sound more relaxed?

I'm pretty sure I have a chance chart for the number of kits. I'm not too sure about having the color of kits because it'll get way too complicated and again limit them. I agree that they create a character like normal, but I don't know what you mean by apprentices and kits. To be honest, I don't think we should allow people to join as kits and have strict requirements for someone to join as a queen.

What I meant is when an apprentice joins, their skills are lower than they will be as a warrior.
When the apprentice trains with their mentor, they can earn skill points? It might encourage people to keep the roleplay active.
So for example, say if Rainpaw and Stonepelt have trained together in fighting, Rainpaw can earn a skill point. If Rainpaw roleplays more than 3 times in a week, then the skill point goes up by one.
I'm not sure, I'm really bad at explaining things, sorry.

[ Ooc: ] The hole skill sets is a nice idea, but i feel like people would get really confused if we didn't explain it the right way. If we were to go with any of the themes here are the names that i would want, we don't necessarily have to use them but i would like to have one of these names.

Bird: either Heron or Swan.
