Roberta's smile fell as she remembered the rather rude young man she'd just waited on. Her shoulders slumped slightly and she glanced down at the floor, "Yes, I would say so. He's just another spoiled noble looking for someone to criticize." Catching his tone, she glanced up at Washington and gave him a sharp look, "But don't be getting any ideas, young man! The last thing you would want to do is come to blows with a man like him, you'd be behind bars before you would blink."

"Sounds like he needs to learn some manners," he stated, scratching the side of his face. Until he caught her tone and he raised is hands defensively with a sheepish smile. "I only planned to rough him up a little bit, Miss Roberta. But I won't, I promise I won't lay a hand on him. Unless he deserves it of course." Which he felt like the man deserved it now for being so rude to the kind woman, but he already promised.

"You've spoken to me this long. If your father is any kinder, I doubt I'll have any problems." Rome smirked, reached and lightly patting Kadin's arm. "Tomorrow sounds fantastic." With that, she spun on her heel, tossing a wave over her shoulder. Boy oh boy. What a time this had been.

IC :: Kadin's first instinct after she touched him was to brush off where her hand touch with a frown. Unfortunately, Rome was correct. He spoke to a present, a common person for too long. He disgusted himself sometimes, that was something his father or sister would do. He was not supposed to talk with them.

"I am aware there is that possibility, I would prefer if I had a true choice in the marriage. Marrying for love sounds more appealing to me than marrying for money, but I cannot get out of the marriage. My fiance would have to be the one to suggest idea. After all, along with commoners being treated as inferiors, woman dint often have a say in things, do they? Despite us leaving under a queen raather than a king, it's ironic..." Elizabeth said looking wistfully into her cup. It was doubtful it would be cut off, the male she was engaged to was infatuated with her looks. Not her mind, but her looks. It bothered the girl quite badly, but she had no say in things.

Roberta relaxed somewhat, a somewhat teasing tone entering her voice, "I'd say he deserves it, but you'd be no better to give it to him, Master Christopher." She could see one of the supervisors glancing her way as she looked around the kitchen and realized it must be time to get back to work. She flicked her apron at him, shooing him away, "You better get out of here before you go roughing up any other customers."

"Yes, but Miss Roberta I don't go around being rude to young ladies," he pointed out,"so I would be just slightly better you see." With an overdramatic sigh he teasingly rolled his eyes. "Fine fine, I'll leave you be now. But if you ever need me, Miss Roberta you know to find me at the Kicking Mule I imagine." He waved to her before slipping out the back door without another word, making sure he closed the door behind him. Washington removed his cap, scratched his head, put it back on his head, and then headed on his way, keeping to himself. He'd made a promise and he intended to keep it.

Caleb needed fresh air, desperately so, and rose from his seat as inconspicuously as he could manage. His companion seemed distracted with chatting up one of the other servers so he politely excused himself and headed for the door, brushing an anxious hand through his hair. Listening to the neighboring conversations started to become less entertaining and he could only stare at a dirty spot on the carpet for so long. Pushing his way outside, he collided with a woman, staggering a step back before reaching out a hand to keep her from falling. "Pardon me-"

IC :: Elizabeth smiled warmly at the idea. She listened to him speak with the smile staying on her face. "That would be entertaining to see his reaction, I would certainly attempt to try it if I wouldn't get corrected for it. As for marrying for love, it is the uttermost rare thing for anyone to do. Love does not guarantee that money stays in you family." She was far too aware of that, her father was lucky for managing to get away with it and have no damage.

"Ah, right. I'll try to find Alison sometime soon, then," he told her, brushing a loose strand of hair behind his ear. The more he talked with Amabelle, the more afraid of her catching on to him being common he became. He better not give her any reason to be suspicious, because the last thing he wanted was to lose a possible friend. Well, if she wanted to be friends with him, anyway.... "I suppose, if you want to know something, talk to the Marchioness, Alison Montrell. She's very social and would take all evening if she could, so it's better to be in a group so you can slip away. You've probably heard about her and have gotten her mixed up with a different Marquess, quite understandable if you haven't spoken to her before. The Marquess, Ruben Montrell, on the other hand is sophisticated and intelligent, but he normally keeps to himself and doesn't partake in idle chatter or meaningless gossip. As for their nephew, what I've said is all I've heard, I'm afraid to say." Amabelle informed Frederick. She was beginning to be a little unsettled on his lack of common knowledge, though she didn't know much of his family and since he's allowed himself to sit with her and he didn't slide his words like most commoners, she had to assume he must at least be a Baronet or perhaps a Baron. Both were rather low and would explain the lack of talk about his family and his lack of knowledge. "I'm delighted to hear you all will be attending as well. By the by, did you hear of their company? I heard a nephew would be going to live with the Montrell's and that he was a Frenchman. With everything going on in France from their restoration to their new monarchy, I don't doubt that he'll be as stiff as a German." Amabelle shared, wondering what they thought of this news. Thinking of it, she didn't recall at all of any gossip on Frederick's family which was rare seeing as year old mewed on Duke Burke's death was still a hot topic. ( coyote โฆ , you still here?)

"I don't think it's as rare as you make it out to be. I mean, my aunt and uncle have a swell relationship. He actually smiles when he talks to the Marchoiness. Yet, it's ill mannered of me to propose you leave your betrothed." Corbin mused after a small silence had settled from when she spoke. He went to take another slice of his sponge cake to find all that was left to be crumbs and the two macarons. With a frown, he spoke again. "On more impending matters of highest importance," he bang, voice laced with hints of sarcasm and amusement. "What is your favorite sweet?" Still not feeling well, but digure I should respond before this dies.)) Elizabeth had tried to make herself believe once she was married that she would learn to love the French noble, however he was a taste she hadn't seemed to prefer as of yet. She was fine with putting the topic aside, anyone would say it would be absurd for Elizabeth to attorney to call off the marriage whether it be directly or indirectly. And luckily with that, she could laugh a little on how the Monsieur sitting before her chose his choice of words. "Oh yes, by far the greatest question asked I'd say," she replied with the same sarcasm and amusement, perhaps lighter in a more joking manner of course, "Though to bring the topic back to the French, the madelines introduced are one of the most exquisite treats in my opinion." She just realized ironic it was, speaking to a frenchman about her French fiance and French foods. All despite her ancestor tracing her to both Britain and Spain, though she believed her family had some German blood as well. For well reasons, and she would continue to do research about her blood ancestor if she had the sources and if not for the fact Elizabeth believed there was still some dirty blood for nobles still in her family, if not for commoners for some births not bound by marriage.

IC :: "It seems so, though I believe the eventer of sweets comes from many a people, each separately making their own design of the perfect sweet. We are lucky sugar canes and cocoa beans still are harvested," Elizabeth agreed with a light laugh. It was enjoyable to see someone so avid about something as simple as treats. She would admire him if the topic wasn't so silly of course. There was the point that those 'employed' for anything to do with the treat making business weren't all that free to do so. But that would be as though telling him too many can get one rather.... large. No reason to ruin thr mood. "You seem to have quite a taste for them, Monsieur."
