I was wondering if anyone would enjoy a Victorian Era Jump-In roleplay and I chose the name because they use to have masquerades back then (which I simply adore) Rather than simply wait, I'll post a starter, though it may be short as I need to leave soon] -- Amabelle Kirkwell looked on at the white bonnet and it's cream, satin sash and beige lining. She had a sun-dress that would go splendid with it, though she wasn't sure if it looked good on her. She held it to her head and turned to her First Footman. "What do you think, Charleston? To light?" She asked, an edge of worry to her voice. "Lady Amabelle, I think it looks lovely on you." He replied with sincerity. He always have his honest opinion, such as last week when she couldn't decide between dark blue satin gloves and burgundy silk gloves. Thinking back, she was glad he'd saved her from a horrendous decision, she simply didn't have a single dress that would compliment that shade of blue and somehow he'd known. She was seventeen and still wasn't betrothed, her father would die if she chose something that would off-set all her possible suitors. She bought it and Charleston carried the bag along with several others before they exited the boutique. "Might I suggest tea? I recall you speaking of a new tea room that just opened and, if I remember correctly, they've a rose tea with hints of cinnamon." He suggested. Yes, the flower spice tea was just what she needed, after all, winter had just ended and spring had arrived. It was the perfect blend for the season. "That would be wonderful." She agreed. She currently wore a beige sundress with only one petticoat and the sleeves ended in a fan-style. It was a rather simple dress with the skirt being in light Ruffles and the corset pulled not-to-tight. She wore a simple bonnet to match and lace flats rather than heels. The sun reflected slightly in her clear, light blue eyes and it made the Amber flecks more noticeable, though it gave a slight green tinge when the shadows mingled with the light. The first footman called for a carraige, but she stopped him in time. "The tea room is not very far, it'll do us some good to walk." She informed, heading off in its direction.

Deciding to head towards the same tea house, the dark-haired male hadn't noticed Amabelle or her footman. The young man, Frederick Reiher, was a lower class citizen originally from Germany had his dark brown hair tied into a short ponytail with dark blue eyes. He was cautious as he approached the tea house's entrance, hoping no one would stop him or recognize that he was of lower class, biting his lower lip out of nervousness. You shouldn't be this nervous! You're just going to get some tea, calm down. This place was new after all, so hopefully only a few people would be there... hopefully.

Amabelle looked on at the quaint tea room with the sign that said Time in a Cup in swirling letters. A young man, she noted, stood outside of the tea room and she decided to greet him. She stopped next to him once they'd gotten there and spoke, "Hello," She started cheerily, "It's a lovely little place, isn't it? It just opened recently and I heard it's splendid." As she spoke fondly of this place she'd never been in, her first footman opened the glass door for Amabelle and Frederick. "I know, why don't we get some tea and talk at a table? It's more proper than just standing here, don't you think?" She suggested, leading the way in.

He stopped walking and glanced at her, noticing how dressed up she looked, which was completely different from his simple style. After she had greeted him, he gave her a small smile and waved. "Hello to you, too.," Now, don't be awkward or anything like it! Remember, you're talking to high class here! "Yes, it looks quite nice. Though, I've never been inside." He talked as though he was of high class himself, which would seem odd to anyone who knew of his low class origins. When she invited him, his eyes widened. "...A-Are you sure? I mean, you just met me."

IC :: Kadin Malandra was having an absolute joy. As if. He was stuck going to a stupid tea house with his sister. It was incredibly annoying and he was incredibly annoyed. She was no fun, going to a flipping tea house! Was she mad? He hadn't realized he was tapping his foot until Elizabeth had mentioned it.
"Be polite, will you? mother and father are rather annoyed with you already so no need to make a fuss about going out for tea." The brunette scolded. Damn, she was rather annoying. A woman, older sister or not, should not be allowed to scold him in that way!
He huffed, turning head to strangers in the room. Strangers, all that came in and out. How utterly annoying. So stupid, none of them seemed worth anything- well. The male didn't. The girl was a pretty one. Dressed all fancy like. It was too normal. Too plain and average, he hated it. He heard his sister scoff, "No wonder you still haven't been wed off yet, you're a piece of- huh. You are stuck-up and stubborn, and you don't seem care."
"I wonder why," was his response.

Amabelle stopped momentarily and looked back at him. "Why, don't be silly. My first footman, Charleston, is accompanying us, so it's nothing to be ill from. After all, we're sure to meet at a ball or afternoon tea sooner or later, so I've opted for sooner." She told him, picking out a nice little table to sit at. Her first footman stood nearby. "Besides, it's much more ritual to drink tea in company, after all, it would be quite lonely to be rather by myself for High Tea in this new parlor." She added.

Chantelle and Charles Burke, more commonly referred to as the Burke twins, children of the late Duke Burke, were a notorious and inseparable pair. They went everywhere together, and they rarely talked to anyone outside of their small circle, making them mysterious, and constantly a hot topic in the gossip miles. The two were both 19, with fair blonde hair, and striking blue eyes. Sitting together, tucked away in a corner of the tea room, a footman standing stiff and to the attention behind Chantelle as she looked around the room with curious eyes, and a dazzling smile. The pair looked like a set of angels, your regular cupid, Chantelle dressed in a royal blue sundress, long sleeved, and with silver slippers to match the silver lace of her petticoats. Charles, wore a simple black velveteen jacket, with a white shirt, and black pants to match. At the sound of the door opening, a waitress hurried to the entrance to receive the new guests, and Chantelle let her eyes follow their way to the door, curious as to who was arriving at the hip, new, tea shop. "Charlie? Isn't that Amabelle?" Chantelle said softly, turning her head to look at her brother across the table, who was busy stealing glances with one of the waitresses.

Hearing that she was completely fine with him having tea with her, he felt a bit more at ease as he followed her over to the table. "I've never been to a ball before, and it seems like you've been to plenty so maybe you could teach me how to dance," he said with a soft laugh. "Oh! Do forgive me for not introducing myself sooner! My name is Frederick Reiher. What's yours, just so I know if we happen to meet again," he added quickly.

IC :: "What about the girl that entered, surely one of the two could even possibly fit your taste in girls. Or someone in the room?" Elizabeth ushered her breath. She had this stupid habit of being pushy, trying to do his job and find a future wife for him. It was easy for his sister who had accepted the arranged marriage already.
He rolled his eyes and interlocked fingers relooking at the people who entered. "They might look beautiful, but girls are rather daft. Stupid I'd even go as far to say. Do you know them, Elizabeth? Or are you just being a pesky sister."
She glared at Kadin. Not to be allowed he wished to shout. She responded calmly despite the look of annoyance on her own face, "I am being a sister that wishes you to continue the family name. You are lucky that grandfather died when mother and father got married, that is the only reason we are as rich as we are. And yes, of course I know them."
She stopped there, before Kadin told her to keep talking with just a blink of his eyes, boredom and annoyance were easy to read from the dark brown irises. "Amabelle just entered, Amabell Kirkwell. The daughter of a man who wishes to marry her off early. The two sitting in the corner are the Burkes, pretty angels but nothing I can say about them. The boy Amabell's with is nobody I recall, and as you know the rest of the place is filed with commoners."

Amabelle let out a small laugh at his comments. "Surely you jest? You've never been to a ball?" She asked, a bit in surprise. "Your father must be preserving you, I do hear of women who enchant men and snare them like vipers, though these are only rumors." She spoke with slight amusement to her voice. "It is quite unbefitting for a lady to teach a sir to dance, though I could have my father speak to yours. I've had five dance instructors during my lifetime and each were splendid, any one of them could teach you to dance, provided you at least know the Rumba." She informed him. If his family were recently appointed Dukes or Lords by the Queen, then it would make sense he'd not know to dance, though she would have heard about him by now. Perhaps his mother busied him with history while his father busied him with manners, though asking a lady to teach him to dance was a bit off-putting. "Reiher? Excuse my impoliteness, but I don't think I've heard of your family. I'm Amabelle Kirkwell, perhaps I'm just more secluded then I would have thought." She introduced, the thought of him being a commoner not even entering her mind. "My Lady, perhaps you would enjoy introducing him to Lady Chantelle and Sir Charles." Charlseton told her, making a subtle gesture in the direction of the Burke twins. "Oh, what a delightful idea! I do need to give them my families condolences though." She's done it before, though it was only polite to repeat it before introducing Frederick. She then stood and turned to him once more. "Their father, Duke Burke, passed a times ago and the two normally keep to themselves." She briefed him quickly. "Oh, and who is your father?" She asked quickly. She would need to introduce a nobleman to a lord and a lord to a duke or a nobleman to a duke. Seeing as he'd introduced himself to her first and her own father was a duke, he must be a lord or a nobleman, as a duke would probably have waited for Amabelle to introduce herself first.

"Ah, no, I haven't..." he said, hoping she wasn't gradually catching on to the fact of him actually being a commoner. In reality, his family wasn't all that well-known. His parents lived near the poorer part of the town and his father was working pretty much all the time while his mother stayed at home, being sure to teach her son plenty of manners and other things she thought he should know. As she asked him about his family, he wracked his brain for a response, not wanting to seem like he was stalling. However, he let out a sigh of relief when her footman spoke up. "Oh... That's too bad, I hope they're doing well now. My father? Um, his name is Herrick. I don't think you've heard it."

Chantelle huffed loudly at her brothers antics, taking an annoyed sip of her Earl Grey tea, peering at her twin from over the brim of the tea cup. Charles John Burke, was a notorious flirt, and had quite the reputation with women. But being the son of a prominent Duke, he was allowed to get away with it. His sister however, was a notorious shrew, and had a sharp tongue that she used on any potential suitor, sending them running with their tails tucked between their legs. Charlie, hearing his sisters obvious sigh, turned to look at her, rolling his dark eyes at her, she could really be too dramatic at times. "Amabelle? Duke Kirkwells daughter?" He asked, trying his hand at entertaining the younger twin. Glancing over his sisters shoulder, he spotted Amabelle, caught her eye, and flashed a winning smile, before letting his eyes slide to the man next to him. "Whos the new guy?" He said mostly to himself, leaning in towards his sister and talking in a whispered tone.
Chantelle turned to look over her shoulder, noticing Lady Amabelle and her friend both looking their way, she also smiled politely, before turning her eyes onto the stranger at her side. "Hmmm...I don't know actually..."

"I don't believe I have." Amabelle agreed with him, mulling over his father's name. He hadn't spoken any title with it, so she could only assume his father was a nobleman. Her gaze met Charle's at she watched as he flashed her a dashing smile and she gave a smile back. Her father had crime rely listed him as one of her possible suitors, she faintly remembered the dizzying list. "Chantelle, Charles, how do you do? My family gives their condolences to the late Duke Burke. You may not know Frederick Reiher, his father is Herrik Reiher, a nobleman. He hasn't been to many balls around here and his parents are rather protective. He seems to be a fine gentleman and, I'm sure, their only son, so I could see how they'd prolong marrying him off." She informed the twins. She had a bad habit of jumping to conclusions, so that's where her information had been mixed slightly, though, he only gave her so much information so it was natural she'd fill in the blanks.

IC :: "You are boring Elizabeth, you have nothing on them? I expected more," Kadin clicked his tongue with a frown. He glanced over to the newly formed group with disgust. "Elizabeth, do you see what I see? Of course you don't, you area woman after all." He didn't let her respond, but Kadin did not care about her opinion. "I see a rich daughter, a rich son, and one.... unclassified male. Now, look again,"
She humored him and took a glance. "What am I missing, Kadin?"
He scoffed, there was a reason he wasn't favored. "I see what should be a good and proper match in this day and age. However, I also see a match that I would not trust, do you understand?"
"You focus too much on possible drama despite not being in any of your own brother, you should learn to keep your mouth quiet. Maybe then you'll have friends- or a possible wife for once," she hissed back. Kadin would have slapped her for her manner, but this was a public place and he couldn't punish her.

Roberta stood in the corner of the tea house dining room, hands folded behind her back as customers filed in. Dark curls swept back into a tight bun and dress clean and crisp, she was the image of professionalism. The young waitress had been thrilled to get a position in the newly opened tea shop and was dying to impress her employers. After all, she needed whatever money she could get and, while this didn't pay as much as a position in a wealthy home, it was just enough to keep her on her feet for now. Dark eyes swept the room and she bustled off, weaving between tables. They were slowly beginning to fill with young nobles, many with old family names or new money that was nearly as good. She slowed as she approached the table of the Malandra siblings, unable to keep from listening for a few moments before approaching, giving a slight curtsy, "Sir, Ma'am, is there anything you require?"

"Don't mind my brother, I am sorry about him," Elizabeth interrupted before giving the girl a kind smile. Kadin could grump all he wanted about petty things, but she wasn't about to allow him to ruin a conversation with a nice lady. "Two cups of black tea please, sugar in only one of them thank you. My brother seems to prefer it dark and as bitter as he can get it, I suppose like his personality."

Roberta bit back a comment about how there might not be a tea bitter enough then. His reputation had preceded him, as did the reputations of most young nobles. After all, there was little other interesting news in this city besides gossip about the elite. Apparently, in this case, the stories were true. She was just able to resist the temptation and bowed her head once more, "Of course ma'am, right away." Backing away from the table and heading back into the kitchen, she worked quickly to prepare their tea. Best not keep the grumpy young man waiting. Within minutes, she had the platters balanced delicately on her arm and was making her way back to the table, humming softly. She carefully placed their tea in front of them, arranging everything so that it was just so before folding her hands behind her back and standing tall once more, her dark eyes daring either to complain about her prompt service, though she had little doubt that Kadin could find something to disapprove of.
