yes in most of the beginning books she is fine, but eventually she even claims she in in war with star clan, she bearly wanted to follow the warrior code and was just a, well an annoying brat of a cat if you get my drill. she was lucky to even make it to star clan when someone like brightflower went to darkforest for listening to her leader to drive yellowfang out.

For me she's kind of bad she did good things in the clan but the thing I hate about her is from the Swiftpaw and Brightheart part, but I understand why she went crazy so I'm ok with that part. Oh right I'm not trying to be mean but if you make things about the cats in the book you should put it in cats so more people see it.

Personally, I was quite annoyed when she went crazy in Rising Storm, but otherwise, she was a great leader.

You can understand why she went a little crazy, though. Two deputies died in as many moons, one of her most loyal and trusted warriors turned out to be a huge traitor to her clan, ShadowClan and WindClan were falling apart, Tigerstar killed 5 or more of her warriors, and led a pack of dogs onto their clan. Plus, she was on her last life and was getting quite old.

I don't think that her "bad phase" is actually bad in regards of true evilness. Rising up against certain traditions/rules and critically contemplating religious aspects/authorities isn't actually bad depending on your point of view. It might even help in several cases for a more fertile social development. Yeah, rebellious bluestar punk gal, ngaaaaaaaaah! ò.ó

I would say no, because she wasn't bad as in evil, but more bad as in neglectful. Up until that point, she had cared for her Clan and had been known as a great leader.
The problem with their insanity is there's no build up to it or explanation as to why it happens. So it comes off as a case of bad writing and drama for the sake of it... I know her prequel book tried to explain it, by having her lose a lot of her loved ones and basically have to bury it, but there still was no foreshadowing of what's going to happen in the main series, so it doesn't work.

She was under a ton of stress at the time. Her world was literally falling apart. It would be hard to not go insane as leader. She is a good cat, so, No.

I don't think so. Like others have said, she was under a lot of stress, she was old, and Tigerclaw's betrayal devastated her beyond belief. I think she was so angry at herself for trusting him that entire time that she drove herself crazy. I think it's an interesting turn on the character and just made the story more tragic.
Of course, this is coming from me, the person that loves portraying mental decline in books and writing. It's just so interesting.

Bluestar's insanity might have come out of nowhere slightly, but it was understandable. I think it was Tigerclaw's betrayal at the time that finally proved to be too much for her to handle.

I think she went "crazy" because, y'know, Tigerstar betrayed her (she trusted him - I'm assuming - a lot), she felt like she couldn't trust any cat besides Fireheart (then she questioned that, too), and she felt like StarClan was punishing her.(But even if she was "bad", she realized her mistakes in her final breaths.) So no, I don't believe she's bad.

Bluestar definitely had her own flaws, as every cat does. Though she did a lot of things with "good" intentions, they weren't always morally good choices (for instance, giving her kits to Riverclan, but that's my opinion I guess)
Something I find interesting about Bluestar is that one could argue that she was as ambitious as cats like Tigerclaw, and that she did succeed in her ambitions to become leader. Sure, she didn't lead the clan into as much battle as these other cats might have, but she did still effectively manipulate her way into that position.
So while I wouldn't necessarily call Bluestar bad, I wouldn't necessarily call her 100% good either. It makes her an interesting character, to me at least.
