The RiverClan forest territory is located in what Twoleg call Morgan Farm's Campsite and the River Chell. Landmarks in this territory include: ➤ Camp - A well-drained island surrounded by the river and reeds. The other Clans' fear of water means this camp has never been attacked. ➤ The Gorge - A deep gorge cut by the river in the terrain, border with WindClan. Apprentices are forbidden to go near it. ➤ The River - A source of food and protection to the Clan. Sometimes, it is peaceful while other times, it floods. ➤ Twoleg Bridge - A bridge built by Twolegs that allows the cats to go to Fourtrees when the river is high. ➤ Beech copse - A training area for apprentices and warriors. ➤ Sunningrocks - Rocks that absorb the sunshine and are a place of relaxation. Moons ago, it used to be an island belonging only to RiverClan, but when the river changed current, ThunderClan wanted this territory, too. The two constantly fight over it and ownership of the rocks change often.
The whole camp is surrounded by reeds. In the central area, the cats lie and share tongues in the sun. In the tangle of one of the reeds, there is the warrior's den. It is also right next to the nursery. On the roof of the den, cats have woven in sparkling rocks and shells from the river. The light dances on them, making beautiful reflections. The river comes up very close to the nursery. The walls are built very thickly to prevent the nursery from floating away in a flood. The nursery is also close to the river so the kits can practice getting wet and sometimes swimming, helping them for when they become apprentices. Across the central clearing, the elder's den, leader's den, apprentice's den, and the medicine's den dwell. They are all in a tangle of reeds covered by a hard reedy roof. The ShadowClan forest territory is located in an area that Twolegs have no specific name for. The territory also includes Twoleg places such as Windover Road, and the North Allerton Amenity Tip, and the North Allerton Road. Landmarks in this territory include: ➤ Camp - A dark, well-concealed hollow hidden deep in shadows. It is surrounded by prickly and fierce brambles. ➤ Carrionplace - An evil place where rats and diseases lurk. ➤ Thunderpath tunnel - ShadowClan cats move freely across the most feared part of the Thunderpath. This has enhanced their reputation for mysterious strength and invincibility. ➤ Burnt Sycamore - An ancient tree struck by lightning moons ago. Apprentices are trained here to hunt at night and stalk through undergrowth.
The forest is quite different on ShadowClan's side of the Thunderpath. Instead of thick trees, there're more pine needles. The camp is protected by brambles, and the entrance is through a tiny path. There is hardly any grass, but the ground is muddy and cool. The leader's den is beneath the roots of a big oak tree. The warriors' den is under a bramble bush. The den looks prickly on the outside, but on the inside, it's lined with pine needles and moss. There is a smooth boulder at the edge of the clearing, which serves as a higher place for the leader to address the camp. Propped up next to this large rock is another rock, and it creates a sheltered cave underneath. It is the medicine cat's den. Sick cats can rest in the ferns surrounding the boulder. There is another hollow shielded by a thorn bush. This is the nursery, and the thorn bush is protection. The ThunderClan forest territory is located in what Twolegs call the White Hart Woods. The territory also includes Twoleg places such as Windover Road and Chelford Forest. Landmarks in this territory include ➤ Camp - It lies at the foot of a sandy ravine, protected by thornbushes. The camp is easy to defend and hard to attack. ➤ Tallpines and Treecut Place - Pines near Twolegplace. Usually filled with Twoleg tree-eaters, the ground there rumbles and leaves deep gullies filled with muddy water. ➤ The Great Sycamore - One of the largest trees with strong and thick branches. ➤ The Owl Tree - A tree that serves home to a tawny owl. ➤ Snakerocks - Home to venomous adders. The caves beneath the rocks can also be homes to other dangerous creatures. ➤ The Sandy Hollow - A training hollow with soft sand so apprentices don't hurt themselves.
The camp entrance is well hidden by brambles, which protect the camp from predators, but doesn't stop sunshine from coming in. A ravine leads through it. This ravine was once a river, but it is now dried up. The way into the camp is through the gorse tunnel. The nursery has thick bramble walls and is the most guarded part of the camp. Behind a tree stump, there is a clump of ferns where the apprentices sleep. Warriors sleep under a bush in another tunnel. Inside the camp, there is a fallen tree where the elders sleep, and the senior warriors sleep in the center of the camp. Across the clearing, a smooth tall rock resides. This is called the Highrock, and the leader stands there to make important speeches. The leader's den is in a cave in the rock which was carved out by an ancient stream. Lichen covers the entrance. The last notable feature in the camp is a fern tunnel that leads to a crack in a rock. This is the medicine cat's den. The WindClan moors territory is located in what Twolegs call Windover Moor. The territory also includes Twoleg places such as the border, Windover Farm.[6] Landmarks in this territory include: ➤ Camp - It is tucked into a natural dip in the sandy moors. This makes the camp sheltered from wind, but easy to attack. ➤ Abandoned Badger Set - A tunnel once used by a badger. ➤ The Gorge - A deep gorge cut by the river in the terrain, border with RiverClan. Apprentices are forbidden to go near it. ➤ Twoleg Farm - The northwest border of the territory is marked by a farm. Ravenpaw and Barley live here. ➤ Outlook Rock - A large rock on the border heading towards Fourtrees. From here, everything can be seen across the moors.
The camp is very well hidden, surrounded by a tangle of gorse. An old legend says that Windstar, the founder, scooped out a pawful of sand to make the hollow for the camp. There are no proper dens. The leader, apprentices, and warriors prefer to sleep under the open sky, although in bad weather, they retreat in burrows made by rabbits, foxes or badgers. The leader has a den behind the Tallrock, but he never sleeps there. The Tallrock is a large boulder used by the leader for special ceremonies. The elder's den and nursery are dens along the gorse wall surrounding the camp.

Before we jump into the specific restrictions, allow it to be clearly stated that it is within the admins' rights to change rules at any time. Any additions, changes, or removals will be discussed beforehand, but once a decision is made it's non-negotiable. Our objective in making these changes is to improve the quality of the roleplay, not to take away from it. We must also make it clear that if you have not read all of the rules and other provided information, you aren't off to a great start here. Anyone who blatantly ignores the important sections will be directed back to read them. If you respect us, we will respect you. So please respect all the work that's been put in by taking a moment to read everything. That brings another important point: respect and courtesy. No one should feel uncomfortable or attacked here. If you differ with someone on an opinion, do not attack them for it. If anything about this role-play makes you feel uncomfortable, it is advised you do not join. It's important to note that staff are held at a different standard than regular members. If you are a staff member, it is vital that you read the staff rules to ensure you are following the activity rules. These activity rules are for non-staff members, to avoid confusion. Regular members without high positions will need to be on a minimum of four days a week. OOC chat and popping in to say hi don't count towards activity. This may sound a bit strict but due to the size of the role-play, we must encourage activity in our members to ensure success. The admins and staff attempt to provide the best experience possible and in the absence of members, the very heart of any role-play, that experience can't be provided. Admins and staff will keep a close eye on activity. Every two weeks, there will be a check for inactive members. Just like any rule, there will be consequences for breaking this one. We will not overlook it when it happens. Background, relations to other members, and other factors are no reason for anyone to become inactive. However, noted hiatuses are acceptable. If a member knows they will be absent for a certain amount of time, then they can alert a staff member about their expected absence and will not face any negative consequences for it. We kindly ask that you do alert us if you know you're going to be gone. If you can no longer be a member, let us know instead of going inactive and leaving us wondering. Of course, we can understand being in a rush one day, but if you can post on another role-play, you should at least be able to make a post here to move things along. This section will be the longest and hold many rules and regulations. Before we jump into another batch of rules, let's go over the basics that everyone needs to know. Power-playing is basically taking a character you do not own and controlling them to do certain deeds and actions, esp. to benefit your character(s). While we have very few exceptions to this rule, it is not allowed and may result in a negative consequence. We kindly ask you refrain from doing this and if you feel you are, simply asking should not hurt. Another issue that can have a few exceptions is spotlighting. The attention of the members and characters should vary depending on the plot point, location, time, and the importance of what is going on at the time. Be aware of when you should have the spotlight on your character and when you should not. The third common role-playing issue is god-modding. While the Warriors series itself has been known to be unrealistic at times and even break their own rules, any cases of god-modding will not be allowed here. There have been measures taken to ensure god-modding does not happen and during moments when god-modding can easily occur, a watchful eye will be present. Finally, the fourth and final big issue: meta-gaming. Meta-gaming typically refers to a character knowing something they should not in canon. An example would be two characters entering a forbidden romance and then a third character randomly knowing about that relationship. If it is not role-played or discussed between everyone involved, they can't possibly know. There is a lot of controversy about literacy and role-playing. There are typically four categories a role-play is put in. However, we have decided not to label it. We simply ask for proper spelling and grammar, as well as at least five sentences per post. Given that the typical paragraph for children is five sentences, we are not asking much. You are invited to write more, but be cautious of "fluff." Filler can make posts difficult to read. Realism is important here. While the admins and staff will make sure everyone is following basic logic, we feel it should be touched upon that a patrol of three cats cannot take on a grown badger without serious injury in two seconds. In the Warriors universe, there are certain things that can and can not happen, so please abide by those rules and our rules. General role-play rules play along with realism. Don't make your characters the constant center of attention. There will be moments when your character’s plot or spot in the limelight will take front and center. God-modding and meta-gaming are a no go for us, so do not even think about it. Please keep in mind that cats do die, especially in the wild. In fact the domestic cat's lifespan is halved when they are feral. To combat the chance of someone taking the liberty to have all of their cats die at one time or live through something they shouldn't have, the admins will have what is called "chance charts." Depending on the situation, these can have an impact on the whole Clan or only a few characters. The charts will be on the discussion page, and will be used when the situation calls. If you are not comfortable with the chance of your character dying, then please refrain from joining. When you join, please keep in mind Clan characteristics, rules, and any information that would impact your character. Do not use adjectives such as "handsome" or "beautiful" when describing your character. It's a form of god-modding because it's biased. Not everyone will find them attractive. Do not apply for deputy; leaders will decide their deputy. Please use our form properly, coding and all. LBGTQ+ characters are welcomed here. Anyone who is against this or tries to argue against this can kindly leave. As for queens and kits, there must be a father for the kits. You may ask one of the members if they would like to have a cat father the kits. The two cats do not necessarily have to be mates, either. Please do not join with orphaned kits. We would much rather have room for kits who are born in the Clan than an overload of orphans. While we will also allow permanent queens, we ask that you develop them. Regarding relationships, none of the admins have a problem with two different people having their characters join as mates, or a character having a crush on another. As for role-playing your own character's mate, the two characters have to be retired. We also encourage joining and having a character related to others only if the other member allows it. In the Clans, there will be available spots, so please feel free. We will restrict the amount of outsiders, half-Clan cats, and outsiders that join the Clans. Please keep in mind any cat who is not a full Clan cat or that is mixed blood can and will be discriminated against. When it comes to feline genetics, be as accurate as you can. The admins either have a chart, generator, or basic idea of how genetics work, so don't try to pull the wool over our eyes. Any outsiders will be limited in number and restricted to an area. The admins will decide on the number and the outsider will need to remain in a Clan area. They cannot and will not remain undiscovered in the territory for a long time. They must have a purpose. Now, an important note to make would be that characters can't be made for the simple purpose of finding a mate. They need to have something besides that to motivate them; something that will develop their character. They should not be made for the simple purpose of moving a plot along either. For every warrior that is made, one apprentice may be made. Keep in mind, the maximum amount of apprentices is ten per Clan. While we do ask gender ratios be kept somewhat even, it will be up to the admins to moderate this for their Clans because every Clan may vary. We will be limiting prefixes to one per Clans. The admins and staff of this role-play should be cracking down on poor behavior and general laziness. If a member violates a rule for the first time, they will be issued a warning. Two warnings will equal a star. A star is not something you want to receive here, as you may only have five stars before being deleted from the role-play. You may rejoin once and will automatically start on the second star. Now, when a member gets to the second star, they cannot not "attend" the Gathering and their characters must remain in camp for two days. For the third star, their apprentices could have an additional training session added on before they become a warrior. If they do not have an apprentice but have a warrior acting as a mentor, their apprentice will be assigned a new mentor for a week and that cat will be sick or under punishment for something. If the member happens to have both, admin may decide on which approach to take. When a fourth star is issued, it will result in previous punishments from before and a week's suspension from that Clan. Now, if they have joined two Clans, the two admins can discuss if this will impact both Clans or just the one. If they show a better attitude in the other Clan, it will only be in the Clan they're not doing so well with. Finally, the fifth star will result in deletion. If a member does rejoin after being deleted once, they cannot have any special plots, positions, or even apprentices until two weeks in. If the member continues to improve beyond those two weeks, then the admins can discuss the possibility of cleaning their slate. ➤ ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁 & Bear Rainleaf completely did the coding, graphics, and wrote the chance generators. Rain also typed up the rules, although all the admins went over them and discussed them. The addition to the history was written by her. The map of the lake was edited by Rainleaf. Bear assisted with editing and rewriting parts of the rules.
➤ Erin Hunter, Wayne McLoughlin, and Owen Richardson The history came from the official Warriors site, and therefore is written by Erin Hunter. The artwork used in the main banner and the symbols were made by Rainleaf, but inspired by the symbols drawn by Wayne.
➤ Warriors Wiki The characteristics and territory are displayed on the Clan's page on the Warriors Wiki. It is a collection of information written by Erin Hunter. The herbs, battle moves, warrior code, illnesses and treatments, as well as the ceremonies on the special pages are located on the wiki. This information also comes Erin Hunter as well.

The news section can be a bit tricky at first glance. The "Role-play News" is a section for updates and announcements that are outside of the actual role-play. An example would be a new member joining or closing a rank due to overfill. The "Clan News" section summarizes the events of that day, such as fox attacks, new kits, or new warriors. Be sure to check the news often, as the admin of this Clan may have already updated it. Admins, it is mandatory that the news be update once every week on the Gathering dates. You may summarize the entire week, however it is recommended to update every day to every other day depending on the movement of the role-play. This will include updates of all Clans. They will be in their respective colors. Role-play News Date An summary of what happened. Date An summary of what happened. Clan News Date An summary of what happened. This chart is not optional. It needs to be followed for the most part. The only thing that may vary is when a cat will get their warrior or medicine cat name due to our rules. ● Kits - 0-6 Moons ● Apprentices - 6-9 Moons ● Senior Apprentices - 9-13 Moons ● Warriors - 13-56 Moons ● Senior Warriors - 56-96 Moons ● Elders - 96 Moons ● Medicine Cat Apprentice - 6-18 Moons ● Medicine Cat - 18-96 Moons ● Queens - 18-80 Moons (The older they are, the more likely their kits will be born stillborn, with defects, or the queen's life being in danger.) ● Deputy - 36-96 Moons (May go longer; this is an estimate, as a cat must mentor a cat) ● Leaders - 36-96 Moons
Please check the list for taken or reserved prefixes. Also, be wise with your selection of a prefix, as if it sounds like something the cats may have not or will not encounter, it will not be allowed. There are two forms. One is for living cats, the other is for deceased cats. If you'd like to have some kind of relation with an existing cat, it's best to ask the owner of the character. As for cats in StarClan and the Place of No Stars, please keep them to a minimum and only make them if you think you may use them for prophecies and dreams. ➤ Name | Age | Gender | Sexuality Description of five sentences minimum ➤ Tagged Member Clan: Answer Rank: Answer Kin: Answer Romantic Interest? The tom was born in ShadowClan, to Frostheart and Echoheart. Feathercloud is Dewcloud's littermate. The tom is a little bit easy to agitate, as he can snap at an apprentice for stepping on his tail or messing up a pounce. He strives for perfection and anything otherwise is just a nuisance. She was the mother of Thrushwing, Grasspaw, and Goldenpaw. Rabbit-chaser was born into WindClan, but after a raid took place, her father brought her to ThunderClan. Her siblings were stillborn and her mother died shortly after her birth. She was mates with Hazelfern. From here, we watch over the Clans we have left behind." — Lionheart on StarClan in Secrets of the Clans, page 72

We will be limiting prefixes to one per Clan. ➤ ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁 & Bear Rainleaf completely did the coding and graphics. She also typed up the rules, although all the admins went over them and discussed them. The addition to the history was written by her. The map of the forest was edited by Rainleaf.

These are obviously illnesses and treatments. If there is a new illness created in the book with a treatment included, Rainleaf will add them. Illnesses in the role-play will also be added, so be sure not to use if you have her permission. ● Chest Infections Information & Treatment: Whitecough and greencough are the most common chest infections known to the Clan cats. Whitecough is the milder form, but if untreated, it can develop into the much more severe greencough. Cats usually catch it during leaf-fall and leaf-bare, and sometimes it develops into large-scale epidemics. It can be fatal for elders and kits, and it has claimed the lives of several cats. It spreads quickly and is highly contagious. Medicine cats treat it using catmint. The first ThunderClan medicine cat, Cloudspots, found out that this was the best remedy. If fevers accompany the cough, tansy or borage is used as well. ● Poisoning Information & Treatment: Poisoning is the ingestion of a substance that causes harm to the body. If only a small quantity of poison is ingested, the cat usually just receives a bellyache, but larger amounts can cause death. Medicine cats treat these bellyaches with yarrow or nettle leaves, while mild bellyaches can be treated with juniper or watermint. If a cat has been severely poisoned they may become unconscious for a length of time. To make a cat potentially vomit the poison, immediately give them yarrow. ● Rat-Borne Infections Information & Treatment: The cats sometimes fall victims to infections carried by rats. One of these infections is called Carrionplace Disease. The first ShadowClan medicine cat, Pebbleheart, realized that rats were a source of disease. As ShadowClan cats sometimes ate the rats from the Carrionplace, they were prone to catch these diseases. It is a deadly and contagious disease. To cure the disease, use ragweed, juniper berries, chickweed, and honey. However, if the case is severe, then replace chickweed with catmint or add a little portion of catmint to help. Burdock root is used to stop infection from rat bites. ● Loss of Sensory Perception Information & Treatment: A cat may lose their eyesight or hearing due to old age. Or from accidents and infections, or birth defects. These conditions usually end their career as a warrior, as they cannot hunt or fight efficiently, and must retire as elders. Kits born with defects usually die young, unless they have special skills compensating it. Kits that are white with blue eyes have a higher chance of being born deaf. ● Joint Aches Information & Treatment: A condition usually associated with elders, the joints gradually degenerating with age, causing pain and difficulty to move. Damp environments can cause the appearance of this condition, so apprentices must make sure that the moss they gather for bedding is completely dry. It is usually treated using daisy or ragwort poultices. ● Toothache Information & Treatment: A toothache is caused by a cracked tooth, cavities, or an infection in the mouth. Alder bark is used to soothe the pain. ● Fever Information & Treatment: Fever is an abnormally high temperature of the body. It is not a disease in itself, but it usually signs the presence of an infection, such as greencough or an infected wound. If needed, it can be treated with feverfew, borage, or lavender. ● Chills Information & Treatment: Chills are mostly associated with cold weather or being submerged in cold water for a long period of time. Although this condition is mild and is not a disease, it has claimed lives. Kits and elders are more at risk of dying when they get a chill. Licking a cat's fur the wrong way gets the blood flowing again. A poultice of lavender, catmint and feverfew is also a good remedy. ● Wounds Information & Treatment: Wounds are injuries when the skin and the muscles beneath are torn, cut, or punctured. They may put a cat's life in danger due to blood loss, infections, or the damage of the organs. Wounds are the most common injuries, due to the cats always fighting enemy Clans, badgers, or foxes. Minor wounds heal on their own in no time, but severe wounds must be treated by a medicine cat. This treatment includes cleaning it thoroughly with the tongue, stopping the bleeding by pressing cobwebs on it, and applying poultices to prevent infection and help it to heal. Herbs used in the poultices include goldenrod, marigold, burdock root or (in the case of rat bites) wild garlic. If the wound becomes infected, chervil or horsetail is used as well. The pain can be eased with poppy seeds or willow bark. ● Sprains Information & Treatment: Sprains are injuries to ligaments of a joint, caused by being stretched beyond their normal capacity and possibly torn. It causes severe pain and decreased ability to move the joint. The cat must rest for several days. ● Joint Dislocation Information & Treatment: Joint dislocation is the displacement of a bone from its normal joint. Medicine cats treat this condition by first feeding the patient poppy seeds to make them sleepy so they don't feel it as much, and then forcing the limb back into the joint. ● Cracked Pads Information & Treatment: The paw pads may crack while walking long distances on hard surfaces, or due to cold weather. Elders are especially prone to this condition. It is treated with a poultice of coltsfoot or yarrow. Dock leaf poultices are also used to cool cracked pads. ● Broken Bones Information & Treatment: A broken bone is usually the result of an accident, such as falling down from a high place, or being hit by a monster. Cats most often break their legs, and while medicine cats try to bind the bone with cobwebs, the injury usually results in the cat remaining crippled for the rest of their life. A more severe injury is when a cat breaks their backbone. This results in the cat being unable to feel or move parts of their body. If the break is bad enough the cat will be killed on or shortly after impact. It is best to possibly make the patient swim in shallow water in hopes of exercising the injured limb or coming up with exercises to fit the patient's need. The ceremonies have been written out and coded so the admins and leaders do not have to look up the words each time. It is recommended that leaders and admins use these, but it will not be forced. ● Apprentice Ceremony - An apprentice ceremony is performed when a kit is ready to take on apprentice training, usually at the age of six moons old. When a kit turns six moons old, they are ready to become an apprentice. Until this time, their name ends with the "-kit" suffix. When a kit becomes an apprentice, their name is changed so that the suffix of their name becomes "-paw", showing the path their paws are on. ➥ The Clan leader calls a Clan meeting to appoint a new apprentice and assign a mentor to them. The following words are used, by tradition: ➤ Leader: (Kit), you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as (new name, ending with "paw"). Your mentor will be (name of warrior or medicine cat). I hope (name of warrior or medicine cat) will pass down all he/she knows on to you. ➥ The leader calls up the warrior he/she has chosen as a mentor. ➤ Leader: (Warrior), you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from (former mentor), and you have shown yourself to be (quality) and (quality). You will be the mentor of (apprentice), and I expect you to pass on all you know to (apprentice). ➥ The mentor touches noses with the apprentice, and the Clan greets the new apprentice by calling out their name.
● Medicine Cat Apprentice Ceremony - It follows a similar procedure as a warrior apprentice's ceremony. However, the medicine cat is included and the ceremony is not complete without the trip to the Moonstone for StarClan's acceptance. In between the time of the ceremony held before the Clan and before StarClan, the apprentice does still train. ➥ The leader calls a Clan meeting, after the Clan's medicine cat announces that they wish to mentor an apprentice. The following words are used, by tradition: ➤ Medicine Cat: Cats of (Clan), as you know, I will not be around forever. So it's time I took an apprentice. I have chosen a cat who has shown (virtues). Your next medicine cat will be (apprentice). ➤ Leader: (Apprentice), do you accept the post of apprentice to (medicine cat)? ➤ Apprentice: I do. ➤ Medicine Cat: Then at the half-moon, you must travel to the Moonstone to be accepted by StarClan before the other medicine cats. ➤ Leader: The good wishes of all (Clan) will go with you. ➥ The mentor touches noses with the apprentice, and the Clan greets the new apprentice. ◎ At the next half moon, the medicine cat goes with the apprentice to the Clans' sacred place to present them to the warrior ancestors, where the apprentice confirms their wish to be a medicine cat. The following words are used, by tradition: ➤ Medicine Cat: (Apprentice), is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat? ➤ Apprentice: It is. ➤ Medicine Cat: Then come forward. ➤ Medicine Cat: Warriors of StarClan, I present you with this apprentice. (He/she) has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant (him/her) your wisdom and insight so that (he/she) may understand your ways and heal (his/her) Clan in accordance with your will. ➥ The medicine cat apprentice touches his/her nose to the Moonstone, Then the medicine cat and the apprentice lay down and have a dream from StarClan.
● Warrior Cermony - A warrior ceremony is a ceremony in which an apprentice finally gets their warrior name and becomes a full fledged warrior of their Clan. An apprenticeship usually lasts six moons or more. Once the mentor is satisfied with the apprentice's progress and skills, they recommend them to the leader of the Clan. Then, the apprentice must pass an assessment, when their abilities as a warrior are checked. In cases when the apprentice has just made an important contribution to the Clan, the leader may decide that there is no need for an assessment. Before an apprentice becomes a warrior, they must visit the Moonstone to receive a dream of their destiny. ➥ If the Clan Leader is satisfied, they call a Clan Meeting and call the apprentice. The following words are used, by tradition: ➤ Leader: I, (Leader), leader of (Clan), call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/she) has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend (him/her) to you as a warrior in (his/her) turn. ➤ Leader: (Apprentice), do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life? ➤ Apprentice: I do. ➤ Leader: Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. (Apprentice), from this moment you will be known as (new warrior name). StarClan honors your (virtues), and we welcome you as a full warrior of (Clan). ➥ The leader rests their muzzle on the apprentice's head, and the apprentice licks the leader's shoulder. The rest of the Clan then greets the new warrior by calling them by their new name. The warrior will sit a silent vigil guarding the camp that night, except if that is not possible.
● Dying Warrior Ceremony - When an apprentice is on the verge of death and has proven themself to be worthy of a warrior name, there is a special ceremony used so that the apprentice may take a warrior name to StarClan. ➤ Leader: I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/She) has learned the warrior code and given up (his/her) life in the service of (his/her) Clan. Let StarClan receive (him/her) as a warrior. (He/She) will be known as (new name).
● Medicine Cat Ceremony - A medicine cat ceremony is a ceremony in which a medicine cat apprentice finally gets their well earned medicine cat name, because their mentor approves of their work. Apprenticeship for medicine cats usually lasts much longer than those for warriors. The cat must learn about all available herbs and remedies, and the treatment of diseases and injuries. ➥ Once the Clan's medicine cat is satisfied with the apprentice's knowledge, they go to the Clans' sacred place. This is the only ceremony that is not performed by the Leader. The following words are used, by tradition: ➤ Medicine Cat: I, (name), medicine cat of ___Clan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/she) has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help (he/she) will serve (his/her) Clan for many moons. ➤ Medicine Cat: ___paw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life? ➤ Apprentice: I do. ➤ Medicine Cat: Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. ___paw, from this moment you will be known as (new name). StarClan honors your (virtues), and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of (Clan). ➥ The medicine cat rests their muzzle on the apprentice's head, and they lick the mentor's shoulder. The other medicine cats greet them by their new name.
● Deputy Ceremony - A deputy ceremony is when a Clan leader names the Clan's new deputy. This happens when the previous deputy dies, retires, is exiled, or is promoted to leader. According to the warrior code, a new deputy must be appointed before moonhigh that day. There are exceptions, however. Occasionally, a Clan leader does not announce the new deputy before moonhigh. This can be because: they are physically or emotionally unwell, or they are unsure whether the previous deputy is alive. If the ceremony is not performed in time, it is sometimes seen as a bad omen. If the deputy dies in battle, the Clan Leader might choose to appoint the new deputy whilst still fighting, instead of waiting to return to the camp. ➤ Leader: I say these words before StarClan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors (or former deputy name) may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of (Clan) is (warrior's name).
● Leader Ceremony - A leadership ceremony is the ceremony in which, when the leader dies or retires, the deputy receives their nine lives and their leader name with the suffix -star. ➥ The new leader goes to the Moonstone with the Clan's medicine cat. After touching the stone, the new leader cannot move for a short period of time, because their old life is being ripped away so they can receive nine new ones. Upon awakening, cats of StarClan come down from Silverpelt. Nine cats, normally ones who were significant during the new leader's life, although this is not always the case,[ give them their nine lives with these words: ➤ Life-Giver: (Touches nose to the top of the new leader's head) With this life I give you (gift). Use it well (to, in, as, for, etc.) (use of gift). ➥ When all of the lives have been given, normally the previous leader says these words: ➤ Previous Leader: Previous Leader: I hail you by your new name, _____star. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives of a leader, and StarClan grants you the guardianship of ____Clan. Defend it well; care for young and old; honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code; live each life with pride and dignity.
● Name Changing Ceremony - A name changing ceremony is a ceremony that takes place when a Clan Leader decides to give a Clan cat a new name. This is usually done when the cat's old name does not suit them anymore, or because of an injury. ➥ The leader calls a Clan Meeting, and performs the change with the following words: ➤ Leader: "Spirits of StarClan, you know every cat by name. I ask you now to take away the name from the cat you see before you, for it no longer stands for what he/she is. By my authority as Clan leader, and with the approval of our warrior ancestors, I give this cat a new name. From this moment on he/she will be known as (new name), for (description of the reason)."
● Elder Ceremony - An aging warrior, queen, or medicine cat may retire as an elder due to own initiative, when they feel they cannot help the Clan efficiently any more. A cat may also retire if they are hindered from serving their Clan through old age, illness, or injury. They report this to the Clan leader, who calls a Clan meeting and addresses the warrior. ➤ Leader: (Warrior), is it your wish to give up the name of a warrior and go to join the elders? ➤ Warrior: It is. ➤ Leader: Your Clan honors you and all the service you have given to us. I call upon StarClan to give you many moons of rest. ➥ The Clan will call out the retired warrior's name and then they will go to the elder's den. An elder may receive a completely different name, with a different ceremony, than keeping their warrior name. Usually, an elder ceremony is held only when a cat retires due to old age. If they are forced to retire because of a severe injury, there is no ceremony.

Our objective in making these changes is to improve the quality of the role-play, not to take away from it. We will be limiting prefixes to one per Clan. She also typed up the rules, although all the admins went over them and discussed them. The addition to the history was written by her. The map of the forest was edited by Rainleaf.

● Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle. ● Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory. ● Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. ● Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life. ● A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice. ● Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name. ● A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice. ● The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires. ● After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh. ● A gathering of all five Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time. ● Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats. ● No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan. ● The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code. ● An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense. ● A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet. ● Medicine cats may cross borders and territories, especially when helping another Clan. ● Medicine cats cannot have a mate nor kits. ● To protect themselves and patients, medicine cats must learn battle moves. ● Medicine cats must do everything they can to help a cat or kit in need. ● A medicine cat may only retire when their apprentice is ready to take their place. Feel free to use this as a reference when role-playing battles and battle training. ● Back Kick - Explosive surprise move to catch opponent from behind. Judge opponent's distance from you carefully, then lash out with your back legs, taking all weight on your front paws. ● Belly Rake - A fight-stopper. Slice with unsheathed claws against the soft flesh of the opponent's belly. If you're pinned down, the belly rake quickly puts you back into control. ● Front Paw Blow - Frontal attack. Bring your front paw down hard on your opponent's head. Claws sheathed. ● Front Paw Strike - Frontal attack. Slice downward with your front paw at the face or body of your opponent. ● Killing Bite - A death blow to the back of the neck. Quick and silent and sometimes considered dishonorable. Used only as a last resort. ● Leap-and-hold - Ideal for a small cat facing a larger opponent. Spring onto opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of the opponent's paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous warrior in this way. Watch for the drop-and-roll counter move, and try to jump free before you get squashed. ● Partner Fighting - Warriors who have trained and fought together will often fall instinctively into a defensive position, each protecting each other's back while fending off an opponent on either side. Slashing, clawing, and leaping together, battle pairs can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers. ● Play Dead - Effective in a tight situation, such as when you are pinned. Stop struggling and go limp. When your opponent relaxes their grip, thinking you are defeated, push yourself up explosively. This will throw off an unwary opponent and put you in attacking position. ● Scruff Shake - Secure a strong teeth grip in the scruff of your opponents neck; then shake violently until he or she is too rattled to fight back. Most effective against rats, who are small enough to throw. A strong throw will stun or kill them. ● Tail Yank - Grab your opponent's tail and yank it with such force your opponent is thrown off balance. ● Teeth Grip - Target your opponent's extremities- the legs, tail, scruff or ears- and sink in your teeth and hold. This move is similar to the leap-and-hold except your claws remain free to fight. ● Upright Lock - Final, crushing move on already weakened opponent. Rear up on back legs and bring weight down on opponent. If opponent does the same, wrestle and flip him under you. This makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, so it takes great strength and speed. ● Half-Turn Belly Rake - Turn onto your side, slip under the opponent's belly, rake it with your claws, then swiftly turn back onto all fours out from under your opponent. ● Badger Defense - Leap over opponent, turn on your back legs and bite opponent's leg. Used only when fighting badgers. ● Duck and Twist - Simple defensive move. The cat ducks then twists around, rolling over onto their back, and then springs to their paws. ● Jump and Pin - Complicated move. Leap backwards, and bounce off the wall. With precise accuracy, land on the cat. ● Double-Front-Paw Slap-Down - Splash water into the enemy's face with your front paws, temporarily blinding them. ● Underwater Leg Sweep - Crouch under water, holding your breath. Then, sweep the legs from under your enemy as their head is raised above water-level; they struggle for breath, as other Clan cats naturally panic underwater. ● Push-Down and Release - Wrestle your enemy under water. Keep their head below water-level until they surrender, as other Clan cats don't know to hold their breath underwater. ● Underwater Clinch - Use your enemy's weight to hold them underwater. With a firm grip, raise them to the air so they can breathe, then send them under again. Do this repeatedly until the enemy gives up. ● Tail Splash - Similar to the Double Front-Paw Slap-Down, splash the water into your opponent's eyes with your tail, temporarily blinding them. ● Underwater Push-Off - Holding your breath, crouch below the water's surface. Aim an accurate pounce to the warrior on the water's edge, knocking them off-balance; the element of surprise should win you this battle. ● Rushpaw Splash - Flick a splash of water at a distance to create a decoy for the enemy, leaving room for a surprise attack. While ShadowClan does not have any unique battle moves known, they have what is called a night ambush. Below are the steps to use this tactic correctly. ● Hide in the shadows of the night with your patrol and your enemy spotted. ● Make sure your scent isn't drifting toward the attackers. ● Wait for the leader of the patrol to give the attack signal. ● Strike your enemy fast and hard; the enemy will be caught off-guard with a battle at night. ● Cut off all your enemy's escape routes, encircling them with your patrol. ● If they try to attack, battle again. If they do not, let them through with a warning. ● Sky-Crusher - Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Land squarely on the enemy, claws unsheathed. ● Flick-Over - Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Land with all four paws outstretched on your enemy. Knock the opponent's feet from under him. Flip the enemy over to their belly; pin them to the ground until they surrender. ● The Kick - Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Kick the enemy as you near the ground. Use the momentum of the fall to spring backward before the enemy has time to attack. ● The Slice - Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Drop with claws unsheathed for maximum injury. ● The Branch Swing - Hold on to a branch with front claws as your back paws rake your enemy's face. ● The Reverse Branch Swing - Hold on to a branch with back claws as your front paws rake your enemy's face. ● The Trunk Spring - Balance on a thin branch; make no sound. Slide down the trunk of your tree. Spring off the trunk with your back legs at head height to clear an enemy. This is best when the tree is surrounded. ● The Reverse Climb - Pace backward as the enemy advances. Climb backward up the trunk to escape enemy; often followed by the Trunk Spring. Like ShadowClan, ThunderClan has special battle tactics instead of battle "moves." These two tactics are called lightning strike and forest attack. First is forest attack. ● Move quietly and communicate with signals. Cracking twigs, startled birds, and rustling bracken will tell the enemy exactly where you are. ● Keep downwind of the trespassers so that your scent doesn't give you away. ● Look for freshly broken twigs, overturned leaves on the forest floor, remains of prey, or a clump of fur caught on a bramble. Any animal that moves through the forest leaves behind signs that its passed by-and signs like this could lead you straight to the invaders. ● Keep your mouth open to search for unfamiliar scents. Be careful: if there is scent when there is no breeze to carry it through the forest, it could mean that your enemy is very close by. ● Light-colored pelts are easily seen against brown and green foliage, so stay in the thickest cover. Keep low- the enemy will be looking for movement at normal head height, not close to the ground. ● Never miss an opportunity to perfect your tracking ability. In the nursery, kits sneak up on their mothers and pounce with their moss-soft paws. Apprentices leap out on one another from behind bushes and tree stumps. These are more than just games. One day, these skills could save your life and defend your Clan. This is the lightning strike. ● Crouch behind the enemy with your patrol unseen. ● Wait for the leader of the patrol to give the signal to attack. ● Spring squarely on top of the enemy, aiming for the ears, as they will bleed easily; caught by surprise, they should be easy targets. ● As fast as you attack, retreat back into the undergrowth. ● As the enemy lets its guard down, attack from an opposite angle; do this over and over until the enemy, thinking they are outnumbered, retreats. ● Approach from Above Your Enemy - Gain high-ground. Wait for the leader of the patrol to give the to attack. Charge down your high ground; your enemy will be weakened by having to fight uphill. ● Use the Light from the Sun - Attack your enemy with the sun behind you, which should dazzle the enemy and block their view. ● Know Where the Wind is Coming From - If there is a strong wind, it should blow from behind you; that should hold them back and blur their vision with dust. However, if stalking, make sure the wind is blowing toward you, as it could give away your scent if blowing toward your enemy. ● Conceal the Size of Your Force - Have your attackers in sight from a distance. There are two options: either you can group your warriors together tightly, making you seem like a small attacking force. Your enemy may become overconfident, which is likely to lead to them making poor strategic decisions. Or, if your warriors spread out single-file, it will seem impossible to pass to advancing enemy warriors and may intimidate them. Attack the enemy. ● Attack Both Ends of the Enemy Line First - Attack both ends of your enemy's line, leaving the middle cats to fend on two fronts; this will leave them outflanked, vulnerable, and in disarray. Attack the rest of the enemies until they run. ● Keep Fresh Warriors in Reserve - Always keep strong, fit warriors to replace injured ones. ● Feigned Retreat and Ambush - A group of strong cats screech and attack the enemy line. The group of fit cats retreat; repeat this until the enemy line breaks. Other warriors, usually tunnelers, jump out of rabbit holes and dips in the ground on the other side of the attackers. Attack from both fronts until the enemy surrenders.
