Probably less drama with the older crowd. XD
Alright. I'm going with Brook Point University, then. XD So creative!
I have everything that we so far have named/planned out written on the front page. Not too bad, if I do say so myself. I'll work on the city description a little bit more now that we have some of the things named. I think all we have left to do for naming is the business districts, and we could always just have one "main" business area... which I would like to be near the beach. ^.^" And then have grocery stores or whatever dotted around but not in a specific district. The "Main" business area would just kind of be like a mall area where people hang out... but outside.
Now we just need a ton of descriptions. I'm turning on my Pandora for this because I'd like to get this done soon for rping. XD

Should I add a space in the joining form that asks where the character lives at? Also just realized that the university would probably have dorms, so that's another living place. XD And... I think the private school should not have dorms. What do you all think?

Yeah I would add that to the descriptions, as for the private school, I would say no to dorms
I can write up descriptions for a buisness district or two and the neighborhoods. Although, those will probably be done tomorrow

Harvest Hills This neighborhood is home to the richest of the rich. The CEOs of the top companies tend to find themselves living here in the expansive houses, some that could even be considered mansions. A lot of the kids of the richer people will also move out into the apartment complexes that litter Harvest Hills when they finally move out.
Shelton's Run Most of the population of Brook Point lives in this little suburban neighborhood. It's easily affordable, at least for people with stable, good paying jobs. The houses are nice and this place is located on the edge of the city, giving a break from the speed and rush of the general going-ons. It's a great place to raise kids. Situated between Shelton's Run and the business of the city is the apartment complex called [INSERT APARTMENT COMPLEX NAME].
Spring Lake Despite being known as the "poor" neighborhood, Spring Lake still isn't the worst place to live. The houses are smaller and closer together than those in the other neighborhoods. This place is located in a cluttered part of the city near an area that the people of Spring Lake think is dying given the businesses that keep having to close nearby. The apartment complex [INSERT NAME HERE] is also located in Spring Lake and is home to many young university students who don't want to live on campus or with their parents.
How are these? =3

I got the neighborhoods. I'm really excited, not tired, and on Spring Break. ^.^" So I can do a ton. XD

those are good. But if you want them to be more detailed i can definitely do that

Other than the layout (which I'm sure will be a PAIN), most everything is done! A lot of it is simple stuff, like the rules, and then naming some things. Like, the beach and park don't need really long descriptions or even names, necessarily. Any other "typical" hangouts that wouldn't be businesses? Like, I don't want to include coffee shops or book stores. Just things that people wouldn't make a business... non-profits!

Eh, I know for me personally, too much detail might turn me away from an rp. XD I like things short and sweet. Especially for something like this where there is already going to be a LOT to read.

that's quite true. Would you like me to do one of the buisness centers tomorrow when my brain isn't fried?

Post by Winona on Mar 5, 2017 23:18:39 GMT -5
Sure! ^.^ I actually probably need to go to bed now, anyway... And I'll sleep on some apartment complex name ideas. Haha. Final question: Should apartments also have descriptions, or should we just leave them as being mentioned under neighborhoods and I can clarify in the joining form to add apartment if they live in an apartment? And then maybe I can organize joining forms based on where characters live...

Yeah, I agree. XD Simplicity!
Anyway, I'm off to bed. I'll try to finish this tomorrow because I'm way too excited, though. ^.^

Hangouts
[INSERT NAME] Beach Located on the edge of the ocean, the public beach is a popular place for families and young teenagers alike. It is dog-friendly, as long as the dogs aren't aggressive and are kept on leash (although that rule is rarely enforced). The beach has a pizza place that closes down during the winter and a playground for the kids.
[INSERT NAME] Park The park is, well, a typical park in the middle of Brook Point. It is expansive so that if you stand in the middle, you almost can't hear the buzz of city life... almost. There is a long, twisting walking path around the park with a playground near the middle and an enclosed dog park. There is also a skate park situated near the edge of the park for those cool skateboarders to hangout at.

Are you guys fine with not using a layout? Because personally, I hate layouts. XD And I can make it look nice without a layout. Plus, layouts don't show up on my phone so I wouldn't be able to do anything if I was stuck on mobile.

what state is this located in?
And if you don't want a layout then we don't have to have one.
|
|
|
Post by Winona on Mar 6, 2017 12:38:05 GMT -5
Ah, I didn't think of any state. Somewhere that has all four seasons, preferably, but otherwise I don't care too much.
Yeah, I'm gonna take layouts off the list. XD And then I'm thinking that for the aging nonsense, the first week of each month could be spring, then summer for the next week, then fall, then winter. So we'd have twenty-eight day years as opposed to full on months, I suppose.

how about...Virginia? Or is the east coast too cliche?
That sounds good, my only concern is how it might be awkward when some people are in a conversation and then it's suddenly winter lol, that's just my opinion but it might work out
|
|
|
Post by Winona on Mar 6, 2017 12:48:40 GMT -5
Nah, Virginia sounds good to me!
Well they could always finish up said conversation, and then continue. XD Just for a general basis of how the time changes over time. I don't want it staying summer for the whole time or have some people in winter and others in summer.

Alright, so... a quick school description, names for the apartment buildings, park, beach, and then the business districts written up, rules, intro, and we're done! Which sounds bad, but really isn't all that bad! XD

Do you want to do the business districts? Like, I want there to be at least one by the beach. But other than that, I don't really care. XD
Umm... or you could do the school...? Whatever you would like, really. And I'll do the other thing.

Intro
Most of your stuff had already been transported to the city of Brook Point. You found yourself nervous but also excited for what your new life would hold. For a while, you had wanted a change of scenery and then you stumbled across pictures of this little city. Well, not "little" but certainly not big. With a population of about 20,000, it felt like the perfect place for you. Nice, quiet forests and farms laid on the outside of the city which would then evolve into suburbs and then later, the heart of the city.
When you had first set foot in Brook Point just to visit, you had already felt at home.
The [INSERT NAME] Beach, the [INSERT BUSINESS NAME DISTRICT]... they were all so fun and full of life, and the locals had been so friendly and caring! The city had felt like a fairy tale come true.
Soon, you were scouring for the appropriate place to live and after you had decided, you had eagerly packed your bags. You waited for the days until you would board the train that would take you into Brook Point. Your belongings waned away until soon, you were sleeping on the floor of your empty house with only your basic necessities because tomorrow would be the day that you would arrive to your new home.
And now, here you were, staring out of the train window. Somewhere in the distance, you could see the towering buildings of Brook Point. But for now, you were caught by the breathtaking sight of the forest that was just outside of Brook Point -- you made a mental note to visit and hike around there at some point. And soon, that forest gave way to pastures and you watched the cows and goats and sheep that were grazing lift up their heads to watch the arriving train. And then that turned into the pampered yards and houses of the suburbs with kids playing in the street.
And then train pulled to a stop and the conductor announced that it was time to get off. Excited, you grabbed your backpack and followed along with the other crowds as you hopped off of the train and breathed in the city air. "Welcome to Brook Point!" Someone called over the intercom and you found yourself smiling, realizing that you were now home.
((How is that for an intro? XD))

Birthdays. Should those be an added thing and then everyone will age up at different times?

About the RP
Brook Point is set up to be a living, breathing city kind of roleplay. You can play characters at any age, with any job. Kindergartners, high schoolers, university students, full-blown adults, anything goes. However, there WILL be aging with one year taking up approximately twenty-eight days of real life. If the rp is particularly slow or if people want to wait until a few "years" have passed for more drama, we can skip years or speed up the aging for those moments. The twenty-eight days is just a default.
Each week will equal a different season. So the first week will be spring, then summer, then fall, then winter. At the end of winter, I will age everyone up one year.
