Raven was sort of skipping out on the whole Justice Patrol tryouts thing, at least for now. She wasn't really all that interested in watching a bunch of new heroes perform mundane tasks to prove they were worth having on the team or whatever. So instead, she'd opted for just aimlessly wandering around the city before she'd make her way towards tryouts. They didn't really need her there right? So you know, she could just spend a little time out on her own for a bit. Besides, while they were busy with all of that, she could keep an eye on things in the city by walking around, so it was a win win for everyone! Well, at least that's what she thought. And it seemed pretty reasonable and alright in her book. They couldn't get mad at her. And if they did, well, they could go suck on a cactus for all she cared.
Everett swallowed nervously as he stood across the street, watching the building and then looking down at one of his hands. It had the faded words and numbers of the address that apparently was where tryouts were for the Justice Patrol. He'd written it down so he could stop by to go and try out, but now that he was so close he wasn't sure if it was such a good idea. This was the most known hero group in the whole city and well, he wasn't all that great at being a hero. At least that's what he thought. And he was sure that his appearance tended to put people off, so then it was difficult trying to save people while keeping them calm at the same time. It was why he tried to cover up as much as possible. And it was why the nerd wore his piggy bandana over his face, his mandibles shifting now and again, waiting to sink themselves into their next victim. It was also why he wore such a large hoodie, he needed something to hide his extra limbs. And while it was extremely uncomfortable for him, it was alright in the end because people weren't as afraid to come up to him. Inhaling slowly, he looked around before making his way over towards the building, nerves eating away at him and he was pretty sure he was gonna puke at any moment. He could do this, he could be a hero just like the rest of them. Or he could freeze right outside the doors, watching the handle and having a bunch of second, third, and fourth thoughts about all of this.

Lawrence hung up and changed direction. It was only a few blocks away and the kid was surprisingly quick on his feet. True, he nearly got hit more than once as he dove across streets and through intersections, but he was a man on a mission and there was nothing that could stop him from getting his story. It took a few minutes, but he finally reached the cornerstore and practically collapsed against the hood of Xavier's patrol car, panting heavily, "I....I'm here....Oooooohhh...That was a...a horrible idea."

"Lots and lots of practice." Justin said getting another arrow. "I read books, looked up videos and did a lot of research. Figured I was just as good when I shot a squirrel out of a tree." He said feeling the need to brag a bit. He failed to mention that some homeless guy snatched up the squirrel and ran away. Justin lets his arrow go once more though he hesitated on the release.

The arrow flew upwards, burying itself in the roof of the warehouse after missing the dodging disc by a hair. Sonya tilted her head, "Really, you're self-taught? And the arrow design, is that self-taught as well?" She slowed her disc down just a hair. She really wanted to see some of these special arrows, as it seemed like he might have a lot in his arsenal. She glanced over at Beau, "And don't you have any questions, Wolf? Or are you just going to stand there and drink all the hot chocolate?" She smiled, making sure he knew she was just joking. She rather liked Beau, his straightforward attitude was rather nice and he was a fairly relaxed and easy to be around. The last thing she wanted to do was accidentally upset him, though she doubted that were possible.

Cassie was not thrilled with this contender. Talent and skill, sure, but nothing that made her think they could go toe to toe with Bunny and Bull and make it out alive. Gosh, Cassie only barely managed to make it out of a fight with Bunny, and never even got to the "catching" part. She paced behind where Justin had stood himself, closing up her helmet, the voice modifier switching on as well. "Got anything more... spectacular?"
Hollis shot another glare towards Gum Boy. Reasonably he knew this young boy had no chance with Noah, even if he tried, but it didn't stop the fashionista from being incredibly possessive. "Hmph, well... can't they just wait? Or go to another coffee shop. You know, this isn't the only one in the city." Percy cleared her throat. "You are your boyfriend are positively adorable but that's not the story I'm here for." Spoken in her usual sarcastic, monotony, she certainly did not sound like she was willing to wait. Quirking a brow at Hollis, she headed towards a table. Hollis waved his hands and made a mocking face. "Well, I guess duty calls. Working is such a drag, how do you do it so often?" With a slight groan, he followed after Percy.

Justin switches to his exploding arrow. "Yes and no. I crafted a few for myself, but I know a friend who is crafting them for me." He closed his left eye and fired the arrow. Justin glanced over at Sonya and smiled sheepishly. "I'm uh also a big comic big nerd so the arrows and my archer personality were inspired by the Emerald Arrow and EagleEye."

Sonya nearly dropped her teacup as the explosion rang out, reverberating throughout the warehouse. Her disc shattered, glittering fragments dissolving as they scattered through the air. That was impressive to say the least. She glanced back over towards Cassie, raising an eyebrow. That was at least somewhat impressive. While sure, he could use some work, the range might be nice and it would give them some new options when facing new foes.

Xavier had just put the mugger in the back of the patrol car as Lawrence showed up, looking like he'd ran a marathon just to get here as if his case were running away from him. Xavier crossed his arms over his chest and raised an eyebrow at Lawrence, leaning against the front bumper of the car. "You know you could have just walked, maybe," he pointed out, trying not to look too amused at his unabashed eagerness. It made his job seem a whole lot more exciting.
Beau grinned over at Sonya and raised his mug with a slight nod of confirmation before taking a sip. He always took her teasing in stride, because to be quite honest she was right most of the time- deep down in his heart he just wanted to drink all of the hot chocolate, but that would be rude. Her sense of humor was always a breeze to bounce his own jokes off of. "I'm just the team mooch. But no really, uh Bullseye? How come you shoot the bow with your non-dominant hand?" At the question he gestured towards the guy with his mug, shrugging slightly. "Dexterity is good."
"Well maybe they come here for me and not the coffee, hm? Ever think about that?" Noah snorted with a bit of a pointed smirk in Hollis's direction. "Because I'm not the one who's absolutely loaded with cash," he answered, passing the drinks off as he finished them to Hollis before he walked off, stepping back behind the register to take the next order. Working this job was as rough as customer service jobs came, but it wasn't challenging in a technical aspect. He'd done crappy part-time stuff as a barista back when he was in highschool too, so this was pretty much entirely just for the money. Hollis's job always seemed far more illustrious and challenging, no matter ho often he complained to Noah about the harder parts of it.

Was gonna use another word for arrow but didn't seem cool enough lol) Justin glanced over at Sonya then at Cassie a light smirk on his his lips. Justin turned his attention to Beau. "Don't really know. Just kind of do though; I suppose I could use my other hand." He didn't give it much thought. Justin just went with his instinct really.

Cassie flinched slightly at the explosion. She hadn't been expecting to be so big for such a tiny thing. She tilted her head. Yeah, that was definitely interesting. "Any other fancy arrows you've got up your sleeve?" They'd have to see how he could actually perform under pressure. Maybe they could set up a mini scenario in here.

Justin lowered his bow and points to a couple of arrows in his quiver. "Well this one with silver ends are ones with little bombs on them, those with a light and dark shade of purple are ones tipped with poison, Red is the explosion, and the rest vary based on the tip of the arrow."

Sonya was suitably impressed. Granted, she was also willing to give absolutely anyone a shot. Still, he was good. But ultimately it was up to Cassie to make this decision. She moved towards the doors to make sure no one was about to wander in after the deafening explosion and as she peaked out, she found herself looked up at a rather imposing individual. "Oh!" She squeaked, pulling the door open a little wider, "Are you, ah, here for auditions?" He was a rather impressive young man, towering over her, but the sight of the rather cute pastel bandanna around his face helped ease her initial apprehension just a little.

Lawrence took a moment to catch his breath, slowly standing back up to look up at his friend. Xavier should know by now that Lawrence was often the first on the scene, no matter what the situation. Stepping forwards, he gently reached up and gripped Xavier by the shoulders, his intense gaze burning into his friend's face, "Tell me everything. Leave out no detail. Every sensation, every millisecond, it all matters." In a flash, he had his phone out and recording, looking up at Xavier with an expectant smile. This was going to be a fantastic exclusive for his blog.

Cassie nodded, gesturing Beau over. She wanted to see his close combat skills. It wouldn't be good to drag him out there with them if he had no experience, but if he looked promising, she was sure they could train him up in no time. Hearing Sonya's squeak, she turned to look at the door. She waved to the newcomer. "Come on in! We were just about to do some sparring, if you're interested."

Believe it or not, Xavier felt quite intimidated by Lawrence at the moment, as he felt like the guy could eat him alive if it meant absorbing any extra information from his body. He glanced over at the phone, looking hesitant at the idea of being interrogated so suddenly, but he just sort of rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged, trying to piece together everything that happened in a cohesive way. "Uh, I guess I was just chilling this morning, checking emails, when suddenly I wasn't! In a few blinks I was in an alleyway, with my gun out pointed at a mugger harassing some woman. I have no idea who did it, but they were pretty damn fast. Er, I hope this video isn't going up-"
"Hmmmm..." Beau drummed his fingers against the side of his mug in thought. It was pretty interesting, usually people like that were pretty versatile when it came to handling weapons. Justin had accepted the mug earlier with the other hand, Beau was certain of it. Seeing Cassie wave him over out of the corner of his eye, Beau set the mug down and readjusted his mask before walking over. Sparring? Finally he'd get to burn all these hot cocoa calories.

Shafer sheepishly brought a hand up to brush against the opposite shoulder as he thought of all the ways he could get Noah fired. He was going to make some snarky comment on how impressed he was now that the ordeal was over with but then a couple of particular interest arrived. Now that the native was behind the counter, he definitely wasn't leaving. At least not until Noah specifically ordered him to. Even then... "Hi!" He chirped at the one who couldn't seem to stop sending him looks. He seemed a bit bitter. Which didn't make sense because why would anyone ever be the slightest bit bitter towards Shafer ever, that just didn't happen :') And then the kissing happened. Shafer sank his teeth into his plush lower lip as he watched the scene. He didn't even try to hide the smirk that quirked at his expression. He lifted a hand and gave hipster's apparent boyfriend a coy wave. Why was he so glare-y? Either way, Shafer answered every hostile expression with a coquettish one of his own. It wasn't clear who he was flirting with anymore. "Have fun!" He called when the boyfriend made his leave and leaned on a nearby counter to watch hipster do his job. "How does one get into the caramel cappuccino-making field?" He asked with no small amount of mocking.

Noah glanced over at Gum Boy from over his shoulder, raising an eyebrow slightly, having been entirely oblivious to any exchanging of glares. God, why did everyone think it was okay to hand around behind the counter once they got there? He didn't want to make a scene of removing the guy since it seemed like he wouldn't go willingly, so he just sort of let it happen. The manager tended to not care about what Noah did, partially because he was one of their best workers but also because they were afraid of him crushing their skull with his bare hands or something. Whatever, he'd put up with Gum Boy a little longer, he was certainly used to this sort of pestering. "You become a person desperate for a job, that's how," he snorted, "why, you want to fill out an application? I'm sure you'd do spectacularly, if training sticks to you like gum does."

Shafer was very glad that Hipster didn't try to get rid of him. He definitely would've made the scene of scenes. No matter how ridiculous his side of the debate would be. The kind of scene to get recorded, put on Youtube, and turned into a meme or something. "Apply?" He snorted in such a way that definitely would've given his mother a stroke. Derisive and unlady-like, no, no, no. Bad Shafer. "God no. Not until my sugar daddy gets shot in the head or something. And even then, I'll just... Get another." He actually looked a little bit wistful then, like the idea of getting another was physically exhausting. "And how about we just never mention the gum thing, like ever again?" He asked, completely oblivious to the fact that his handle was literally 'Gum Boy'.

Everett wasn't expecting someone to swing the door open and he sucked in a breath of surprise, swallowing nervously. "Oh, um, well," reaching up, he rubbed the back of his neck, eyes glancing off to the side. He could always lie and say he got lost or something right? Maybe he could play it off that he was off to a party? Who was he kidding, he never went to parties. "Yeah, I was..." He admitted, glancing up when he heard someone inside call out. Well at least they seemed friendly enough, right? "I mean if you guys aren't busy or anything. You know, I can always come back. Uh, I can always try again next year or something," his nerves were starting to get the better of him now and there was no 'inhale, hold, breathe out slow' to calm them at this point, not when he was talking face to face with someone.

Lawrence listened with rapt attention, eyes never leaving Xavier's face. This was big. Either it was a sudden kind act from the typically not-so-kind Bunny or there was someone new in town that might just be able to keep up. At Xavier's worried tone, Lawrence shook his head, "Just recording for posterity, I won't actually post it. But is that everything, are there any other details? Where were you before you moved, how far did they move you in how short a period of time?" This was all highly important of course, he needed to make sure his information was accurate. His followers expected quality intel and he had to do his best to deliver.
Sonya smiled, opening the door wider to usher him in, "Please, come in, why put off until next year what can be done today?" Waving her arm, she welcomed him inside, "I'm Sonya, it's a pleasure to meet you, Mr...?" He certainly seemed nervous, avoiding her gaze and rolling through his words without a second to breathe. That in and of itself might not be the best sign. Courage under pressure was a necessary trait and if simply walking into an audition could make him this outwardly nervous, she could only imagine what he'd be like when face-to-face with an actual threat.

"Yeah, guess you're right," he let out a breath, walking inside and glancing around real quick. Everett seemed to constantly be stressed out and nervous, at least around people. Could you blame him though? However, when provoked or faced by a threat that could harm him or someone else, he was all game for getting his mandibles dirty. "Oh, Everett," he offered a smile, but of course she couldn't see it with his bandana, how stupid of him. He inhaled slowly, trying to calm his nerves as he watched the others in the room before exhaling. He could do this, he was a hero. And heroes could do these sorts of things.
