(Sorry for the delay, my classes are started again) Blair made a face at that. "What for? It doesn't mean anything." He asked, trying to push his weight on his palms to list himself into a sitting position. He wanted to try to get himself off the ground, hoping he might feel less dizzy. It was a bit of a stretch considering the wound to his head had already taken quite a toll on him. He didn't want to feel like this out here. He couldn't afford to pass out, no matter whether the beast was hostile or not. (Ok my problem is reading the posts when I don't actually have time to reply) "It does! It means you won't try to kill me before we defeat the wolf. Or does your honour mean nothing to you?" Avi snapped. It was moments like these he realized what really made him a monster. He couldn't keep his raging temper at bay. One wrong word would set him off—exactly what happened earlier that day. Avi had tried taking deep breaths but somehow that didn't work for a beast the same way it did for a human.

(hahahah thats all fine. I have a lot of homework this week) Blair gave a small shake of his head. "There's no 'honor' in being a hunter. We stalk, spy, bribe information, blackmail, and slaughter monsters who can't blend in. What sounds honorable about that?" He looked at the beast again, frowning as he looked him over. What was with him? Well, he supposed he might be being a little difficult on purpose... "What was your name again? Did you tell me, really don't remember." He asked, pressing his palm against the wound on his head again.

(What are you studying?)
"Avi. But if you want to call me 'beast' for the remainder of my life I understand," he said scathingly. "Come with me, hunter. Blood will attract the others." Avi set off at a reasonably slow pace, not bothering to help Blair up. The hunter seemed fine on his own. Well, not fine, but not close enough to death to ask for help, either.

(Game art I'm looking to model props and environments for games when I graduate) Blair gave a slight roll of his eyes as he pushed himself up to his feet. His hand went to his side for his weapons out of habit, but of course he found them gone. "Hey, Spooky, what am I supposed to fight this wolf with? You scattered my arsenal." He complained, trying to move the snow around with his foot in hopes of uncovering anything near him.

(Dude, you just get cooler every day xD)
"Spooky? I just told you my name was Avi." He looked back at the hunter, puzzled. When it dawned on him that this was some sort of joke, not—in his opinion—all that funny, the beast gave Blair a halfhearted pity laugh. "Why do you need a weapon, hunter? Kill the wolf with your sharp tongue." The beast picked up the pace a little, tail dragging carelessly behind him. They were already leaving a trail of blood; leaving tracks didn't matter. "I will find your belongings tomorrow. The moon is full tonight."

(You're too sweet but anyone can do what I do with plenty of practice. But ahhhhh we went fishing today and some dolphins came to hang out near us! We didn't catch anything probably because of the dolphins but they were so cool to see.) Blair gave a small sigh and grabbed his supply bag. There was probably a decent knife or something useful in there, and he'd probably need it if his suspicions were correct. The beast seemed to intend on spending the night someplace that might be exposed to the elements. He was glad he'd planned to be out here for a few days tracking him.

(Cool and humble... Omg I love dolphins. that's epic. i wish i lived closer to the ocean) "I will build a fire. Normally I don't have guests; the flames help to keep other creatures away," Avi explained as they neared a cave, the entrance covered by boulders. He pushed them aside as easily as he would have a pebble and stepped through, glad to be home. It wasn't what one would expect of a cave-dwelling beast; a bookshelf, handmade, pressed against the wall. No titles more recent than 1850—that was when life as Avi knew it ended—and certainly no bible. Other than that, barren. A rug, a hearth, a chair, and a blanket or two stacked on the arm.

She winced a little but it wasnt as bad as getting shot, "I would rather not go to a clinic, I dont want the people who shot me to find me. Which means not going anywhere with recording devices." She sighed finishing the crackers. "I just need to heal up enough to fly away.. sadly this forest is pretty dense so I'm going to have to find a clearing."

Blair followed the beast into the cave, though his grip tightened on his bag. He didn't exactly hold a lot of trust for the beast at this point, even with their little bargain. As they approached his belonging, he frowned, looking around. The beast had lived so close to the town this long? There might have been other accidents that were never reported... After this, he needed to thoroughly scour the woods and get a decent record of what was out here.
--
Mika gave a slight shake of his head. "The clinic I know is discreet, but if you really don't want to, okay." He said. "Anyway, it's usually quiet here. I wouldn't stay here otherwise. Whoever's after you should overlook this place easily if you want to wait them out." He offered.

"My last match," said the beast, stacking wood on the rocks. "Would it be too much to ask for another box? Despite what you believe I don't care to fight every creature that comes strolling by." The beast was very careful building the fire, deliberate in his placement of every log. When Avi had a little practice every day, it made sense he'd be good at it. With the last match, he very slowly set fire to the tinder, knowing he had to make it count.

"Why use matches when flint lasts longer?" Blair commented, reaching into his bag and pulling out a flattened stone covered in pale scars from years of use. Since the fire was lit, he didn't pass it over, but instead turned it over in his hand. "You can find them along most rivers." He said shortly. He put the stone back in his bag and sat down quietly where he could see the entrance to the cave, but where he hoped he'd be fairly out of sight.

"Do you know what else can be found by the river, hunter? Other monsters. Monsters I've somehow managed to make enemies of. I must look too much like something else they know," Avi grumbled before turning back to look at Blair. "But we need water. I'm surprised you survived your headwound." The beast had forgotten about the arrow still lodged in his shoulder. For the moment it had stopped bleeding. He'd have to get to the river before it started up again.

Blair resisted lifting his hand to his wound again, not wanting to upset it. "Snow probably slowed the bleeding enough. But you have a fire, boil some down in a can or something. It's probably cleaner than whatever's in the river." He advised. Other monsters by the river... he'd have to remember that. Once this ordeal was done with, he'd have to go scout the area. Or there still was the chance he wasn't walking away from this. As soon as this beast went to sleep, he'd tip off another hunter about the river.

Casting Shadows Feathered is open, though it'll be my last duplicate of the plot. Do you prefer one of the roles over the other?

Casting Shadows
The last of bits of strength started to slip. He'd spent the last hour struggling his hardest to stay airborne, but he was exhausted and the wound in his wing felt as though it could split the feathered limb in two if he didn't fold it down and let it recover. He did his best to hold himself steady as he started to angle downward, about a dozen yards off the ground, the wing just gave out, falling limp. It was done, he couldn't even manage the energy to lift it. He fell the remaining distance, landing on his side with his good arm lifted to protect his head.
He'd hoped he could make it far enough to safety since it wasn't broken, but the cuts must have been deeper than he'd thought. The razor wire had snared his right wing and shoulder, leaving deep red marks on either limb and staining his clothes and feathers with dark red. At this point, the bleeding had mostly stopped, but the muscle would take days to recover, easily a few weeks, and the pain gave no sign of letting up either.
Before he'd had to land, he'd spotted the roofs of houses and the crisscrossing fences of people's yards. He wasn't sure if he should proceed on foot and try to hide there, or keep to the woods. Both had their advantages and disadvantages.
Thornshade
He had fallen asleep under the bed wrapped in the seal pelt he carried. He was exhausted enough that he didn't wake up or even move when the front door opened.
He'd come into the house to get out of the snow. He'd thought the place abandoned, there had been no scent of recent human activity, so he'd been surprised to find supplies still in the building. He'd thought humans cleared everything out when they left a place behind. No matter, he'd found medical supplies in the bathroom and he'd been able to clean and bandage the wounds on his eye. He'd covered it to the best of his ability and he'd found food in the pantry.
It made everything so much easier to deal with.

Kendall halted when she came to the front door of her cabin; the handle was covered and blood and appeared to have been forced open. Tentatively, she crept inside and gasped when she saw more blood on the floor of her kitchen. She'd been planning on a relaxing vacation from the office, not whatever this freak show was.
As she studied the mess in the kitchen, she was shocked to discover her pantry was almost entirely empty; cans of soup, beans, and peas were demolished and piled on top of her marble kitchen counter. As she turned around the corner and entered the bathroom, simply following the trail of blood, she discovered her medicine cabinet had been opened and rummaged through; the first aid kit she'd bought was coated in dark blood and had been sloppily left behind on the kitchen the sink.
"Hello?" she asked, her confusion and fear rising as she entered her bedroom. She followed the smear of blood and directed her eyes underneath the queen-sized bed, her nose instantly assaulted with the strong scent of seawater.
She peered under the bed and gasped in shock when she saw the creature underneath and moved away as soon as she'd met its eyes, sitting against the bedroom wall, holding her hands to her chest, panting as her heart felt as if it was going to gallop out of her chest.

Why, he couldn't say. The beast had no valuables to speak of, and Blair's weapons were scattered around the forest. Could it be Avi was worried for the hunter's safety? Not likely, but possible. He put the idea out of his head. He wasn't fond of it. "If anything bothers you, throw some salt at it. At the very least it might make the monster sneeze."

At the sound of a voice, he opened his eyes and lifted his head slightly. The home owner must have come back... he'd thought this place was abandoned. Though this would explain the supplies he'd found. Someone clearly had meant to come back here. Why did it have to be today. He pulled the seal pelt closer around himself, trying to take up as little space as possible. They weren't the person looking for him, the voice was too different. But that by no means meant they were friendly.
As he heard them search the house, and the bedroom door opened, he clasped a hand over his mouth in silence, trying to still his breathing. His wound began to flare up again after he'd adjusted his position. Despite the bandages and medicine, it burned again. He couldn't do much to defend himself from this spot either. He watched the feet as she crossed the room and search about. Finally, they stopped by the bed. He froze as he realized they were kneeling down. They'd see him anyway, he pushed backward until his back made contact with the wall and he lifted an arm to shield his face. He heard their feet slam back, though he hadn't looked yet. They'd defiantly seen him.
--
Blair have a small snort at the comment. Salt worked about half the time. He usually had a bag in his backpack , but never enough to feel the weight difference. It was important, but he couldn't take more than he needed. It tended to take up space for other important things. Even so, he leaned his head back on the cavern wall, sitting quietly as he tried to rest. Unfortunately, even that was enough to make his head spin. With a small sight, he started looking through his bag for the bandages he'd packed.
