Sure, Ill type up a starter real fast.) Nymiria felt her exhaustion begin to set in hours ago but had refused to give in, she was being hunted, chased and she had refused herself the luxury of resting but now having lost blood from the bullet hole in her leg she was beginning to fade. Now night time on a new moon she could land on the ground; Carefully she lowered herself to the ground not even caring as her black wings hit the branches of the trees snapping them. When she was a foot from the ground she landed with a thump and slapped a hand on her thigh when her makeshift tourniquet was soaked with blood, no longer able to stop the red liquid from dripping out of the gaping hole. Her pale features were even lighter from loss of blood and her dark wings and hair didnt help much, though her eyes were bright from the modifications they were bloodshot and had dark crescents beneath them from lack of sleep. HEr thin layer of clothing was discolored and dirty from the fighting and the flight to where ever she was. She looked at her wound with blurry eyes before she passed out falling into a heap on the cold forest floor.

(Hehe :3 Thank you~) Blair barely had enough time to get the next arrow fully pulled back before the beast was too close to fire upon again. He instead let the arrow fall away and he swung the bow at the creature to force it back a bit. He wanted to avoid being struck in case his wielding arm was injured. He moved back a few steps, pulling the blade from the sheath on his belt. He watched the beast for his next move. Avi stopped short to keep from being struck by the bow, but it wasn't quite soon enough. With mounting fury, he swatted the weapon from the hunter's hands and grabbed at his collar, unaware of the blade he carried. "What did I tell you?" His voice echoed around the trees, eyes ablaze with fiery rage. "Now it's your turn to die, human." Strange how he'd been here twice in a day. Usually he could limit encounters like these to once a week, at the most, but that was Avi's luck. (Let me know if I'm powerplaying...I try not to but I can never be sure. :/ )

No, it's all good :3 Remember with a nonhuman character its ok to be faster and stronger than a human one, and as long as you leave room for the other player to react, it's all good)
Too close for a proper strike, but he stopped to speak. Blair locked his hand around the blade and swung it up between the two of them. He couldn't afford it to strike too low. It would only be a bother and not enough to free himself. Even if this missed, it should at least startled the beast enough to push himself away from him. He'd underestimated his speed to say the least. He still wasn't quite sure what this thing was...
-----
Alright, and I'm not sure how late you'll be up, but here's mine as well.)
Mika was awoken that night by the loud siren on his phone. He sat up slowly, looking at the screen with a tired frown. His eyes squeezed closed at the light but they adjusted and he read the notice. Weather warning. He'd better check the hutch... He got up from the bed and walked over to the dresser, pulling out a jacket and putting it over his pajamas. He picked up his phone again, turning on the flashlight and heading for the door. He walked out into the back yard and headed toward the large hutch by the fence. Good thing he'd come out. The tarp wasn't up and he wanted to place down some sandbags by the fence to make sure any runoff from the woods didn't knock over the pen. The rabbits inside scuttled about, expecting food. He paused, hearing something big snap through the trees in the woods. He turned up his flashlight, looking for whatever had made the commotion.

Nymiria was unconscious laying on her left side, one wing covered her injured leg and part of her torso and the other was spread wide at a somewhat awkward position. As the wind blew through the trees her wings rustled and her long black hair that had escaped her tight braid covered her forehead and one eye.

(Yup, total noob here. It's fine. ) And it did just that—distracted Avi. He had the hunter exactly where he wanted him, aside from the inconsequential instrument. And now the beast wanted it. He grabbed the hand that held Blair's knife, massive fingers slowly enveloping the weapon. With his face inches from the hunter's, Avi hissed, "You should have gone when you had the chance." Normally, this was where the giant snapped his victim's neck, but today something held Avi back. Maybe he was tired of fighting. Maybe the pain—a reminder he wasn't immortal—had drawn the desire to fight from him. Still fuming, he took the knife and threw it into the snow. Try as he might, Avi couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead he dropped Blair into the icy crystals beneath their feet, tired and confused.

As soon as he was released, Blair grabbed at the ground near him, hoping the blade had landed nearby. No such luck, and his bow was still a few paces behind the beast. That just left the arrows and the blessed water... He grabbed for the arrows first, drawing one to each hand and rolling himself away from the creature. He wasn't entirely sure why the beast hadn't made an attack when he had the chance, but he'd take any opportunity he could get to come out on top of this fight. Still, something seemed off. He didn't seem to be toying with him, otherwise he'd have been far more suspicious. Maybe he was already injured? Wouldn't that be fortunate?
--
Mika watched the woods a moment longer before he turned his attention back to the rabbit hutch. He pulled the tarp over the little pen so the fuzzy inhabitants wouldn't get soaked if the storm did hit and he started dragging the sandbags over to the fence. The noise he'd heard made him keep looking to the woods, though he wasn't sure why he felt so cautious about them. He didn't see any movement, and any animal would have fled by now.

Nymiria groaned slightly as she came to for a moment attempting to move but finding herself unable to even lift her head but she could see a light out just a ways away from her, not caring if it was human or hunter she called out a weak, "Hello?" That sounded hoarse and scratchy, she managed to lift a hand out towards the person and the light.

The noise he'd heard made him keep looking to the woods, though he wasn't sure why he felt so cautious about them. He didn't see any movement, and any animal would have fled by now. (Whoops I fell asleep but I guess it was good timing) "Really? I let you go, and you still want to fight me?" Avi snapped. He shouldn't have been surprised. Humans were always idiotic and impulsive, but usually they wouldn't go running back to danger. This one was different, for some reason, and the beast realized he might have to kill for a purpose. The arrow still stuck in Avi's shoulder was becoming more noticeable with every passing second, so he had to do this quickly. Feeling—for the first time in his life—a little guilty, the beast threw another blow at Blair's face, tail thrashing wildly. If only it could have been used as a weapon. Most of Avi's strength was drained from the day's earlier events, so he had to resort to hand-to-hand, and suddenly wished he hadn't thrown the knife. Large stature was no match for someone with a weapon in each hand.

Blair tried to move out of the way in the opposite direction of the blow, but failed to duck back quickly enough. The beast's talons caught the side of his head, tearing the skin under his hair down to his ear. The area quickly felt heated and soaked, and the strike stumbled the hunter. Even with the strength behind the blow, he had expected more strength behind a beast of such size. If he was quick, he still stood a fair chance to bring it down. Even if the outcome looked dismal, he couldn't flee. If he fell here, the other hunters would eventually catch word and hunt the best too, but if he fled, he risked letting the disaster from earlier repeat elsewhere.
He tried to recover himself as he took more steps back, unfortunately yielding ground. He didn't like it, but his ears still rang and he needed to clear his head if he wanted to make his next move count.
--
Mika frowned, looking toward the woods again. The fence blocked his view of the forest floor, but he was sure he'd heard a human voice. He remembered stories from his childhood about creatures in the woods who could mimic human voices and led people astray. He felt a small sting of fear in his heart, but he reminded himself again that those were merely children's stories. Monsters weren't real, as far as he knew. He walked over to the fence and reached to the top of it, pulling himself up. He did his best to balance himself on one arm and he shined his flashlight into the woods. "Hello?" He called, watching for any movement.

(I think I need to draw Avi out, tbh I'm having trouble picturing him sometimes)
Avi smelled blood--thick, metallic, tantalizing--and couldn't help wondering how it tasted, too. Again he lunged for the hunter, this time striking at his chest. The fight was taking too long, but he admired Blair's tenacity. Most humans didn't last the first strike. Then again, he wasn't in the best condition right now. That was why the conflict had to end soon, before--heaven forbid--Avi and Blair were evenly matched.

"Please..." She called out then coughed roughly, her vision was fading again but she was determined to gain the guys attention. She lifted her arm and wiggled the bush in front of her.

(I'll look forward to seeing it :3 I'll have to draw Blair with his gear)
Blair wasn't able to duck down quickly enough as the beast jumped forward. He wasn't able to make the best decision in time and he dropped back, unbalancing and landing on his back. The beast's lunge brought it close, and in this position he was too vulnerable to stay like this long. He couldn't strike a decent hit like this either. His head was still spinning. This wasn't good. He turned on his side, swinging one arm upwards to strike the arrow at the beast's underbelly. It wouldn't be anything close to a lethal strike, but hopefully it might make the creature back off a bit.
---
Mika caught a glimpse of movement as the voice called out again. He pushed his foot against the fence to climb over, but he slipped. Out of instinct, his wings flared out, flapping vigorously to keep himself moving upward. He cleared the fence and landed somewhat clumsily on the other side. He ran into the woods, tucking his wings as he went. He kept going in the direction he'd heard the movement, only stopping in time to avoid stepping on the humanoid on the ground. "Sorry sorry!" He apologized quickly. "What happened?" He asked, kneeling down to try to help her up.

"I-i was... shot and landed where ever here is." She said weakly, she looked up at the man who didnt seem much older then her but in the low light and blurred vision she could be wrong. She was still struggling to stay conscious, the only reason she fought the darkness was the thought of this guy being a hunter but he didnt seem the type the company would hire to find a runaway.

Mika frowned, looking out at the woods briefly to be certain whoever was after her wasn't too near. He turned off the light on his phone and tucked it away. No point in giving away their location. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, trying to lift her to her feet. "Where are you hurt?" He asked, hoping he didn't accidentally grab her too near her injury.

She yelped and winced when she stood, "Gunshot left thigh." She hissed moving her large wings out of his way, "Thank you..." She said lightly as she balanced on one leg. Her pale yellow scrub shirt and pants were filty with blood and dirt and her face was smudged with blood while her black hair was fuzzed out curling in some parts.

At first, Blair's attempt to keep the beast from advancing worked. He didn't enjoy being stabbed with an arrow anymore than the next monster, but then Avi remembered he'd given the hunter a chance to get away. There was no other option but to end the fight the hard way. He grabbed at the makeshift weapons, knowing he'd either have to use them himself or get rid of them altogether, the same way he'd done with the knife. Other than that, the hunter was, once again, where Avi wanted him. And he wasn't about to show mercy; the beast had made that mistake once before. Now pinning Blair against the ground was a little too easy.

( aww >w< It'll be a bit though. this weekend might be a little busy) Blair started to push himself upward before the beast's weight hit him. He wasn't really any match for it's strength at this point. He couldn't land any strategical hit from on his back, and he was without a decent weapon. From what he could tell, he didn't stand much of a chance at this point. Another hunter would have to finish this fight another day. That didn't mean he was afraid or ready to truly give up. He looked upward, a slight glare on his face despite his exhaustion.
--
"No, don't worry about it." Mika replied quickly, shifting her over so she could lean on his other shoulder and stay off her wounded leg. "If we're careful, we can get back to the house without tripping over the brambles. I... oh the key's in the house..." He wasn't sure he could fly her over the fence, he'd never carried anything heavier than a large dog in the air, and even then it wasn't far. "The back door's open. I'm going to get you to the front porch and I'll run around back to let you in. Just hang tight." He said, starting to move.

(X3 Ah, I do digital art. I started with traditional, but I just love using layers. I've made pieces for charity auctions and I've done character commissions. For the most part, I try to avoid anime style since it's got such a negative stigma to it, but I greatly appreciate works like Miyazaki and Hosoda. My husband and I are both Game Artists, though i do more Graphic Design than he does.)

"Whatever you have to say," Avi murmured mockingly, tail thrashing, "Spit it out. You won't have a second chance for final words." He found the whole thing very amusing, turning the hunter's own words back on him, but the beast didn't smile. It was unlikely Avi had ever smiled. As it was, he terrified most humans.
Here, making all the decisions about another man's life, Avi couldn't help feeling a little taller than usual. Somehow more important. He could take Blair's life or let him leave. That wasn't true. He couldn't let Blair leave. They'd tried that once. Maybe Avi wasn't so in control as he'd thought.

Blair took a short breath. He recognized his own words only spoken moments ago, but he took the chance. "I won't be the last to challenge you." He said, one hand going to cover the injury on his head briefly. "Stay away from the humans who can't fight back. Leave them alone." He snapped. Even if he wasn't in a position to make demands, he needed to make his message clear. He was here because people were dead. By this beast's hands.

"How valiant. Your last moments are spent pleading for the lives of others, not your own," Avi mused. He felt a sort of respect for this man, but not enough to make him forget the arrow still lodged in his shoulder, or the other injuries, now sticky with dried blood. "I want to stay away from them. More than anything. But they have things I need, do you understand? Things I can't find in the forest. And they run. All of them." The beast paused, looking Blair up and down curiously. "Except you. Why?"

"You think you're the worst I've faced?" Blair retorted. He'd only been hunting for four or five years, but he'd seen creatures and victims that still haunted him. He'd rarely met a hunter who'd made it past their tenth year. He was a little disappointed he hadn't made it more than half way to that point, but that was his own fault for not being ready. he did' even know what this beast was when he went after it. He'd only brought a few things with him to fight. Now all... not all... he still had the water. A little late, but better than never, he supposed.
"I'll protect them, whatever the cost." He said, his hand going from his head to the belt. He uncorked the vial of blessed water and threw it no the ground at the beast's feet. From what he knew, most beasts couldn't bare to stand on a surface that had been recently touched by the water.
