I personally loved it, but it's just a bunch of filler.
We find out that three cats were born with the powers of the stars in their paws and they have this great destiny, but we don't find out until like ten books later what their destiny was.
It was interesting learning about the ancients and reading about their powers and there was a plot twist at the end, but it was pretty much all filler, don't you think?

Yes. I agree with this.
I was really excited to see where to books would go and I was kinda disappointed. I feel like the power of three and the omen of the stars had more potential. What was the point of the three being reincarnations of the ancients anyways? And I wish they would have developed their powers a bit more. Also, the beginning of the power of three made it seems as though the three would either destroy or save the clans, but they did nothing with this. I actually thought that Sol would take advantage of the three and their powers for while.. Well I guess he used Lionblaze to escape from ThunderClan jail, but that was pretty much it. Sol ended up sorta being filler. Along with almost everything else.
The three ended up feeling sort of useless in the end, too. They weren't as important to the ending as the series built them up to be, and their powers felt sort of unneeded. I guess Jayfeather united StarClan by dreaming himself in there and speaking too them.. But the cats that had been training in the dark forest could have warned the clans of attacks instead of Dovewing, and Dovewing only warned them maybe.. two times? And Lionblaze just fought. Firestar ended up doing more than them, and he entire last hope felt rushed.
That was a bit off topic oops. Other than that I enjoyed the idea and characters.

I agree that POT often felt directionless and the eventual use of the powers was anti-climactic. I did like some of the filler plots though. I also really loved how it showed how the knowledge of being powerful and having a great destiny affects the Three and influences their way of thinking and their actions. I didn't notice it the first time but on my second reading I could really appreciate it. Sometimes it's done very subtle but it's definitely there. The Erins actually did a great job there, though I feel it isn't appreciated much. a pity, really.

I thought it was the worst series. Sorry you guys, but it just seemed like a filler. Not much action or anything.

It was basically all filler because only one cat was contributing to the plot, and that trend continued to happen in OOTS. I don't think it's the worse arc since that spot goes to OOTS to me (that one got far to ridiculous, completely ruined StarClan and TLH was a disappointment), but it's second worse. Although it might end up being in the middle depending on how the 6th arc goes. :\
One of the things that I actually found disappointing was that Hollyleaf killed Ashfur instead of Squirrelflight. Squirrelflight and Ashfur used to be really good friends, best friends even, so the thought of Squirrelfight killing Ashfur actually sounds a lot darker, more emotional, more disturbing and more impactful. The murderer ended up being Hollyleaf to serve for a big plot twist. Yeah the plot twist wasn't expected, but it in general wasn't as much of an impact as a cat killing another cat who used to be their best friend.
