Bion made is around the temple just as Saber was stepping, more like staggered, out. The man picked up his pace to a jog to meet him. "What happened? Are you okay?" He asked with a hint of worry. Saber didn't looked good. His face was too pale and he was shaking. Bion scanned the male's body for any wounds. 'Y-yeah.' He stammered, looking relieved when he saw Bion. He relayed what quest Ares had given them. 'So it's really just a hunting task.' Saber finished. 'But boar are dangerous animals to hunt, so we'll have to be careful.' He said, running a hand through his hair and smiling with worry. 'I'm sure you could take them out though- if you can shoot a Minotaur and kill it, you can kill a few pigs.' He grinned.

Bion was surprised at how easy the task sounded. There was no need to worry about a couple of boars. Ares must have taken some kind of pity on them. "Yeah. I'm sure you can get into the action this time too." Bion said with a nod. He smiled weakly.

He asked, a pang of guilt hitting him once again in the chest. 'I'm really sorry if I scared you, Bion. I couldn't help it...' he quietly looked at the floor, not wanting to meet the other mans gaze.

Bion dropped his smile and sighed. "We are past that. It is okay. I know it wasn't your fault." He said with a frown. They couldn't keep thinking about this. Bion could feel guilt mixed with fear grip him as he thought about the past event. Time would be needed for Bion, not words. He stood up and grabbed his bag. "Are you ready to move? We can find and kill those boar by sundown if we start now." He said, looking into the forest.

Saber stammered, joining him and then leading way, keeping an eye out for that clearing that Ares had mentioned. He wondered how large the boar would be, and if they would be a threat.

Bion mentally noted Saber's stammer. He couldn't think of any way to reassure the man or get back to where they had been before this. Bion knew their fight had to had an effect on Saber as well; he wasn't stupid. He just wasn't the best one for comfort. He felt guilt for not being better at such things. It would be better if he had inherited his father's talent for music or poems. He heard those usually made people relax or share feelings. "Did he say how many boars?" Bion asked, now uncomfortable with silence.

Boars can be really aggressive...' even the wild big-cats could get gored and die by the tusks of an angry boar.

Sorry! >.< )
Bion nodded, though he doubted they were normal boars. If he had to guess, Ares sent them to kill some elite boars so he had something to watch. "Better than fighting naked with no weapons." Bion joked weakly. He glanced over at Saber with a slight smile. He could feel it. Something was different between them. Maybe it was just him, but he didn't like the feeling. It wasn't the same from when they were on the road before. It was a bad different, not a good different.

Saber burst out laughing and the tension in him seemed to completely disappear. 'Not that- again!' He stammered, clutching his stomach. 'Damnit, Bion!' He wheezed, laughing again as the mental image assailed him, ever the more detailed whenever it came to mind. A sly grin spread across his lips as he eyed the other male. 'Though I wouldn't protest the naked part.'

Bion smiled as the tension slowly dissipated. They might be heading to their untimely death, but at least they wouldn't be tense and awkward. Well, the awkward part might be unavoidable. He could feel his ears turn red and he looked away from Saber when he said his last comment. Of course, his mind went to thinking that was a complement, but he didn't want to get ahead of himself and assume the wrong thing. Plus, his mind was blank when it came to returning such things. "Says the man that can turn into a cat. You would be warm and very threatening. I would just be a cold man, naked in front of an army." He shot back, though good naturally.

Saber's sly grin got even wider. 'Well, you could ride me and stay warm.' He knew he was pushing the boundaries but he was suddenly finding himself enjoying flirting with the other man, liking the blush he saw on Bion's face.

Bion could now feel his face warm up. From Saber's grin, Bion could tell this was not just him thinking about something other than riding into battle. "Well," He started, struggling to think of a good comeback, "It might be a rough ride. Ummm, battle..." He trailed off, not sure what to say. Gods, he was useless at this. For a man who wrote a dozen less than pure poems for nobles, he sure was tongue tied. I blame that stupid grin and his stinking bright eyes, Bion decided, now that Saber wore a sly grin and his blue eyes were lit up.

Saber snorted and burst out laughing as they headed into the trees, closing in on the clearing. 'You're terrible at this.' He said, the moment lost and replaced with simple humour. 'Why don't you just stay flustered and let me do the flirting?' He suggested, giving him a small smirk, before walking ahead. He knew they were close so he calmed himself down, breathing in deeply to try and catch the scents of the board.

Bion sighed. As quick as the moment came, it was lost. Though that was for the better. Bion already wanted to sink into the ground for his last comment. He slowly settled and looked around the forest. He could hear Saber trying to catch the scent of the boars, so Bion busied himself with unsheathing his bow and nocking it. He didn't pull the bow string back, just made sure it was be ready to draw and fire.

Saber slid into a crouch and peered over a bush into the clearing as they found it, and smiled; there they were; four boars. They were definitely larger than average with huge tusks, and probably bad attitudes. They'd have to be careful. He glanced back at Bion and pointed silently, mouthing, 'be careful.'

Bion nodded. Now he wished that he had hunted more as a child instead of always refusing the task. These looked no different than the boars described, but if Saber thought they were dangerous, Bion knew these things were bad. At least they didn't have to worry about the angry animals running away. This did mean they would have to kill them fairly quickly. Bion was still new at this archery thing to go fast enough to kill them all before anyone got hurt, and Saber could get seriously hurt if he tried to go close to them. 'What do we do?' Bion mouthed. When walking through the forest, they hadn't even planed one thing.

He pointed at the closest boar. 'Shoot that one.' He murmured. 'I'll transform and scare the rest by leaping out of the bushes. With any luck, they'll scatter and we can pick them off in their confusion.' He shifted himself so he could jump from his crouch, feeling the sense of fire in his muscles as his body prepared to transform.

Bion silently nodded. He slowly drew his bow. Since the boars wee close, he wouldn't have to draw as far, but in order to get through the animals' think skin and bones, he would still have to draw pretty far. The bow made a small creaking noise that alerted the boars. Quickly, Bion draw the bow fully, stood up, and shot at the boar. The boar died as the arrow sank into its chest. The man took a couple steps back as the oars turned towards him.

The man took a couple steps back as the oars turned towards him. Saber visibly shuddered as the power surged through his body, and as he took off with a powerful jump, he transformed for the second time, this time in broad daylight, before Bion's eyes; the huge saber-tooth released a terrifying roar as he landed dead-centre in the remaining three boars, who squealed and, as predicted, scattered. Using powerful hindlegs to propel himself Saber swiped with his front-left paw at the hind legs of the nearest boar, successfully sending it crashing to the ground, before he landed on it and sunk his massively-long fangs into its neck, killing it. He raised his head and roared again, chasing the third one to try and hound it into Bion's line of sight.

Bion tried not to pay attention to the transformation. He was naturally draw to it because, who wouldn't? It was impressive and strangely mystic. He took a couple steps back so Saber would have room to attack and pounce. The cat form was large and Bion had no intention of getting in his way. He nocked another arrow and aimed it at the third one. Since his battle didn't have the rush like the others and Saber was near the boar, he hesitated. He didn't feel right. He didn't have the rush of power and the focus he had in all the other fights. The man still let the arrow loose. Instead of an instant kill, the arrow instead landed in the boar's hindleg. It was effectively crippled but not dead and still squealing, very loudly and high pitched.

Just curious)) Saber leapt back as the injured boar now swung on him, intending to fight. He hissed and backed up from its swinging tusks, swiping his paws to try and make it move away from him, unable to attack whilst it was full-frontally facing him.

Bion hissed at himself as Saber paid the price for his mistake. He quickly drew his bow again and shot. This time, everything just felt right. He felt the surge of power as he released the arrow. This time, it made its mark. The boar feel with an arrow piercing its neck and separating its spine. He nocked his bow and looked for the last one.
(Yeah. He lost his in the first fight and I don't think I've said that he got a new one yet. He threw it at the monster then couldn't get it back before they had to run. )

Satisfied as Bion saved him, saber turned and froze in place as he saw the final boar charging him. He jumped back and turned his head, the boar smashing hard into the side of his face. There was a very loud, very sickening crack and Saber screeched with pain, huge paw slapping the boar so hard that it's neck broke and it collapsed. Saber staggered to the side, blood appearing to be pouring from his mouth. He looked down with wide eyes at the massive saber-tooth that he'd just lost, and the shock turned him back into his human form- which, thankfully, was uninjured- revealing the two bodies were separate. He still felt the pain as a type of phantom ache, and he took his lost tooth into a trembling hand. 'Th-that hurt.' He croaked, tears in his eyes.

Oooo, it will be the gem of Bion's items. He will probably throw everything else he owns at monsters before his new dagger now. )
Bion raised his bow to fire but was too late. The damage was done. He winced and took a step back at the screech of pained. It pained the man just seeing the gash on the side of the cat's head. He felt the urge to walk forward to comfort Saber, but held back. After seeing what his cat form did to the boar, he should wait until its rage had died. He sheathed his arrow and bow. Once Saber was back in human form, Bion ran forward. He touched Saber's arm lightly. "Are you okay now? I mean, does it hurt anywhere still?" Bion said, already looking around on the man. Sure the blood was gone, but Bion didn't like to assume and he was a bit shaken up. They both were. He held himself back from running his hands up and down Saber to check for wounds or to just hug the man. "The blood is gone." He said with slight hope.

'I think- my human and cat forms- are separate.' He stammered, a tremor running through his body. 'I can still feel the pain though.' He said, closing his eyes tightly at the next wave. 'Oh, gods, that hurt.' He breathed, before leaning forwards to lean his head on Bion's shoulder, needing the hug for comfort.
((Ahaha :') he'll whittle it into a usable knife when Bion goes to sleep this night he'll have a nice present in the morning))

Bion nodded. That was something at least. They could deal with pain better than an open wound. Pain couldn't get infected, even if it was worse feeling than a wound. Bion took the hint and lightly hugged the other man. He didn't want to break him, even if Saber has proved less than breakable. "I've got some cloves and other herbs in my bag for the pain. Can I go get them?" He asked, not sure if Saber was ready for Bion to leave.

"I mean, I'll be back. My bag is just over there." He said before turning and jogging back to retrieve it. Bion chewed on his lip as he rummaged through his bag. Gods, why is there go many things? He thought, almost tempted to just upturn the sack. That would just create more of a problem and he may loose the cloves and herbs he had so carefully bought. He managed to find the sack of cloves and counted out five. That leaves five for tomorrow, he thought. They could use the other herbs for tomorrow or once they found water. They were more of a tea thing. He jogged back to Saber with the cloves lightly cupped in his hands. "Two right now and if you don't feel any different soon then take one. Wait a bit then take another if nothing changes. Fie is the max for one day." He instructed.

Saber listened intently to Bion's instructions, quietly taking the cloves from him and popping two into his mouth. 'Thankyou, Bion.' He said softly, pushing himself to his feet. He picked up his lost tooth, amazed to see how long it actually was; the length of his forearm, and razor-sharp. He put it into his pack and quietly began to wonder what to do with it, as he waited for Bion to finish packing up. 'How are we going to get these Boars back to Ares?' He asked, before realising that THAT was the real task; Ares was all about strength. The defeat of the boars had only been the start of the task.
