The window, slowly nearing , made Zen pause her advance; ears still trained toward the room below. It was refreshing to have something 'fun' keep her occupied, but she wondered just how spooked the people below were. Besides, she wouldn't like the feeling of being watched either, especially if it involved whatever cocktail of mess cooked up down there. As the thought sank in, Zen looked towards the window and deliberately cast a greater shadow than necessary as she reached the end of the roof; proceeding to move her hand in an attempt to make her shadow wave. Do I say 'I come in peace' as well? The thought made her chuckle out loud, before she tilted half of her body over the roof and stared into the window.
Hair responding to gravity and her coat-tails flapping, Zen kept her position precariously. While her mind made sure that her view was upside-down, she managed to spot a few figures in the room; some holding weapons already. An amused expression crept into her face immediately, which was followed by a wink. "Tension is bad for the soul; so loosen up a little." Her tone, light and airy, masked the curious intent in her eye.
i tried to reply like 6 hours ago but !!! internet ))
Amber blinked. She rubbed the back of her head, dropping the bag she was holding on the ground, giving a sideways glance to Steve. Her face was the equivalent of a confused (wolf)puppy as her eyes adjusted to looking through the slightly foggy, maybe cracked window. "So, um, was anyone expecting company, or..?"

Cap: Steve raised his shield from where he'd been holding it at his side, and continued to peer around the room. He didn't want this to come to a fight, but he was prepared, and as he saw the weapons of the others raise, he knew they were ready as well. "Hold your fire," he said quietly to those in the room, "until you can see who it is. I don't want any unnecessary deaths. But, if it's the enemy, give them hel." And just as he finished speaking, he saw the shadow of a female move closer in, and then a face through the window. He looked over at Bucky and noticed that he was weaponless, and hoping he could trust his friend, he tossed him a gun. "I wasn't expecting anyone," he said to Amber, confused. "But they don't seem hostile..." He lowered his shield. "Who are you?"
Bucky: Bucky quickly pulled on the maroon hat and instinctively reached for his belt, searching for his weapon. When his hands closed on nothing but air, he let out a groan and remembered that his weapons had been taken away. He was just as good without a weapon as he was with, but he would have been happy to at least have a knife. He looked up, and at the moment that his eyes found the shadow of their intruder, Steve nodded his way and threw him a gun. Bucky caught it in the air and moved to Steve's side, staring at the person who was now peering through the window. He held the gun tight in his hand, waiting and wondering why on earth he had been given back a weapon.
man you are so lucky xD It's just been humid lately where I live, so my skin begins to glisten and my hands lose their grip on the bike handles; aside from choking on horrid air, its rather nice. yeah cx sorry to confuse you darling I luv sleep nngnghrngfkd <3 sadly, the swim team is like, 'NAh; you aint sleepin in'
She had spared a glance to Amber, a sign that said she herself was just as confused as to who would see them. She hadn't bothered to keep in contact with Tony since she had dropped off his radar. Which, was a good thing. If they had gotten ahold of Wakanda, they might've done worse damage than Borya had done. Ears pricking, she listened to the unfamiliar voice and gave a little chuckle. "Interesting belief there," she mumbled quietly, lowering her weapon in the slightest. But she was ready for the order.
Seeing as it wasn't Borya, she had felt her muscles beginning to relax, and her eyes shifted to the others before up at the new face. Her brows quirked upwards, and her cheeks came from their heated red hue. Standing there at ease, she shifted to lower her weapon and stared as the woman peered at them. Listening to the sound of Steve's conversation there, she herself had begun to silently ask who this mystery person was. Definitely didn't look familiar, but then again- she hadn't been with... well, Steve didn't even recognize her. Neither did Amber and Natasha. So it had to be a complete stranger

"And it's true, your soul is pretty important; can't have it being a mess. Nobody would want to have it when it's done its purpose." The sentence rolled off her tongue with ease, as if it was an automated reply, but Zen smiled. Of course her mannerisms would be 'interesting', though she did find earth's customs pretty amusing herself; not that she'd say that out loud though, she was happy being treated equally. However, when she saw something flash through the air, she raised an eyebrow. "Oh please, why would I be hostile? I'm alone for a reason." Adjusting her grip, Zen tilted her head to the side in confusion. Sure, she could be a little angry sometimes, but she didn't understand why everyone was on the defensive when she was angry; besides, she was just trying to hit them with weapons- never mind. She didn't want to get ahead of herself though, so she regarded the group through the window with lidded eyes, before they opened fully.
"Who am I? That's a very powerful question. Besides," A smirk graced her lips. "You guys haven't even bought me a drink first." The joke, presumably an inside joke, made her chuckle slightly. "But you're all interesting...Please, call me Zen."

Bucky: While Steve had lowered his shield, Bucky kept his gun raised, ready to pull the trigger at any moment. Steve could talk his way through this, but he wanted to be ready in case anything went wrong. He kept his eyes on the newcomer, while out of the corner of his eye, he waited for a signal from Steve. In a way, it was just like the old times, working by Steve's side, soldiers again... He felt his muscles tighten at the thought, memories of the past flooding his mind. All of that had been taken away from him... A frown crossed his lips and he silently begged himself not to lose control, not to forget why he was here and that there was nothing he could do to change what had happened. Focus. Breathe. Focus. He exhaled, adjusting his weapon, and continued to stare at Zen.
Cap: Steve's hand was still tense on his shield, but he kept it lowered as he watched Zen through narrowed eyes, sizing her up. It was true that she didn't really look like a hostile, which was one of the reasons he had lowered his guard, but you could never be so sure. "We have dealt with a lot," he said, his voice even, "and many people we know have betrayed us. And at the moment, we are on the run, and it is not uncommon for the people after us to send someone we'd least expect after us to throw us off balance." He gave her a slight nod. "So, if you are not a hostile, why are you here, Zen?"
I wish I could have that.. sticky to handle bars >3> //cri// nooooo sleep where art thou hast betrayed me????
low-key, sat watching my rapmon gif for a lil bit while listening to Goodnight Gotham and the red pause just synced so perf; dats some good stuff right there
The Russian girl slowly lowered her weapon, her eyes turning to cast a glance towards Bucky. She felt her senses tingling, and her power begin to flare. She tensed up, sensing Zen's strong curiosity and Bucky's sense of strong willed to keep focused. It was then Alyona fully concealed her weapon. Sensing as the newcomer wasn't of harm, it was set in it's proper place with a click. Her gaze rolled up to Zen, a quiet sigh escaping from her barely parted lips. "She's just curious," she told Steve quietly, making sure not to break eye contact.
The red-head shot a glance to Alyona when she saw her put the weapon fully away. What was she thinking? Her lips parted to object, however it seemed that Alyona had been quick to explain her actions, and answer Steve's question. Turning her eyes up to Zen, she let her fingers curl to her palm. "Yeah? Well so was Tony back at the airport. And so was Borya burning Wakanda," she growled quietly as a soft reminder. That earned a look that was mixed with pain- the younger female looking slightly hurt at the words- and a glare that said to be careful in the words.

Zenmaka stayed quiet the whole time, eyes darting calmly between the group; refusing to show any signs of emotion. Of course, she kept the cheeky wall over her, but she wouldn't let that drop until she was comfortable. While the eyes trained on her never dropped, she let her drop towards the street floor under her- or over her, since she could still feel the blood rushing to her cranium. "I wouldn't be here if you all had stubbed your toes and decided to run away, believe me." She started. "But it isn't common to see a mix of individuals, such as this, in one area. And such rebellion levels off the charts; it's hypnotic..'"
Zen wasn't sure if she said the last part out loud, but she got ahead of herself. "...Thirdly," Shaking her head, she continued; addressing everyone in turn. They had been through a lot, she could tell, and she didn't know how she could address it without sounding detached. "I'm not with anyone; I walk alone and I like it that way, because the smoke of authority snuff out the burning truth." She paused, face frowning at the sudden poetic remark. She'd used it once before, in a incident too painful to recall, so her eyes veiled further as her tone stayed civil. "I'm sure that's your situation; and you probably don't deserve all that you've gone through."
With that, she shifted her position, feeling her foot lose a little grip on the edge of the roof. "Why am I here? Honestly, it's still debatable, but I think..." Her mind screamed to stop talking, but she ignored it. "I think I can offer assistance."
[[ 87% ready to let her lose her grip while she's acting 'Big and Bad' so that she 'falls' lol ]]

Cap: "Curiosity is dangerous," Steve muttered back to Alyona, careful to keep his eyes trained on Zen. He lifted an eyebrow, nevertheless, curiously. "We could have shot you from your perch before giving you a chance to speak, but we did not. Prove to us that we were right not to kill you on the spot. What kind of assistance do you offer?" He happened a quick glance over at Bucky, remembering why they had started to run in the first place... but he would have done it all again for his friend, for any of his friends. "We currently do not stand with the government, as they are against us, but we stand with each other and we trust each other," he said, gesturing to all of his friends. "Where do you stand, Zen? Are you someone we can trust?"
Bucky: As Zen spoke, Bucky felt his muscles tense even more, and he let out a growl. "Decided to run away?" he said to the newcomer, his voice raising. "Who are you to tell us why we are here? You have no idea who you are dealing with, stranger." He felt his blood beginning to boil with hot anger. It had been his fault they were all running. It had been his fault since the beginning, ever since his first big stunt in D.C. No- ever since he'd been taken by HYDRA in the 1940s. Everything was his fault because he was still a living weapon against the people who were once his friends. That Zen was telling them that they had decided to run... None of this had been their choice. None of it had ever been anyone's choice. After that, he stopped listening to what Zen was saying and to what everyone else was saying, rage pounding in his ears, and he felt his fingers move towards the trigger.

"Mhm, because if you did- or do- shoot me down; you'll never know if it was worth it." A twitch of her upper lip gave reason to think she was smiling, but she wasn't. In fact, she was livid with frustration. Trust. They're asking me about that?! From the beginning of her life, that was what she valued the most; the pure trait of sticking together. However, she'd never been able to find anyone who gave their trust to her, while she gave all of hers to them and reaped the negative consequences. Her friends, hell, even her own family ignored her, ridiculed her and ultimately left her for dead ; and now she was being challenged, the only constant in her life. Teeth sliding against each other, she bit out a reply. "I stand with whoever is right; and frankly, it isn't those Fat Cats with suits and ties." She paused, narrowing her eyes, before continuing. "And Trust? Oh, I've had that: I've given more than I've gained, sure, but it always seems to end with me bitter and angry. Though I still seem to do it..." She trailed off, a veil of nostalgia moving across her face, before the sneer bubbled to the surface. "Unlike Laufeyson, however, I don't channel that into negatively impacting others."
"I've never stood with the government; because I always knew the place with all the rules is the most corruptible. Unfortunately, all of my research seems to be shrouded by the big shots anyway." She stopped grinding her teeth, tongue swiping over them in an attempt to inspect them; for a moment, the black tongue managed to peek out of her mouth. "Which is why I take them-" Her explanation died in her mouth.
"Hold on-" However, her face seemed to light up at Bucky's remark, eyes closing for a moment. Her train of thought shattered, Zen clung onto another thread, snorting slightly. "Do I need to spell it out for some? I wasn't defining any of you, or why you're here, or where you come from; that is for yourself to do, and if the others hate it...Then who cares?" The frustrated tone melted off her voice and merged into a silky growl, as if she was too amused to care. It had the air of something inhumane, perhaps feral. "The world is one big con, and most are just poor, unfortunate marks. Sure, the cards dealt for your life were bad, but who says you've gotta play? Honestly, it's your choice to suck it up and reshuffle, or play what they want you to. I have no idea who I'm messing with? Well, I could find out if I wanted to, kid, but I'd rather not make my own assumptions. "
//watches carefully// watchu doin wit dat gif and song??
Ughhs i hate exams
Alyona looked to Bucky, her small hand gently resting on his arm. Her eyes immediately flickered up to his face, hoping he would be relaxing. Turning her head to look up at Zen, she felt her small nose scrunch up out of distaste. "I understanding you try to help... But how can you help if you cause temper to flare?"
Her lips pursed for a moment, having opted to shift a bit closer to the stranger's direction. "Not everyone chooses to be in their situation, to choose to run," she agreed with Bucky then. "Sometimes theyre there because someone else forced that state," she stated in objection, eyes narrowing. Natasha spared the female a glance, watching the silver-blonde act like a kitten stand up to a lion. "Please... Just answer if youre truly a friend or truly a foe."

Amber had huffed once, raising her hand and scratching the side of her face. While everyone else was arguing and trying to see what Zen was there for, she just listened. With nothing to say (for once). She blinked, placing one hand on her hips, looking up at the ceiling.
Wanda had tilted her head slightly, trying to peer into Zen's mind, if just for a moment. Her eyes turned red for the passing second, but she was struggling to focus. She glanced at Steve, but he'd already been told by Alyona. "I really think she has no hostile intentions."

Bucky: Bucky was about to step forward, do something he'd probably regret, but one look at Steve, who was about to intervene, and he placed his foot back on the ground and stayed where he was, muttering under his breath. He lowered the gun and reluctantly put it in its holster. As rude as Zen was, he didn't think she was worth it... or particularly hostile. A moment later, he felt Alyona touched his arm, and he glanced at her, wondering once again why she'd want to help someone like him. But he gave her a reassuring look - or the best he could do at one - to let her know he was fine.
Cap: Steve cast a warning glance at Bucky, and then looked back at Zen. He held out his hand, offering a sign of peace and greeting. Even Bucky, who had seemed hesitant at first, had lowered his weapon, so he knew the others would agree with his choice. "Well, Zen, it looks like you came to the right place," he said. "Right now we're trying to stay out of the government's hands, and then we're going after HYDRA." He was going to give more details, but he refrained for now, seeing as they weren't in a secure place and, although he thought he could trust Zen, he needed a lot more than words to believe it fully. "We are leaving soon, with or without you. It's your choice. Would you like to join our team... of Avengers?"
Zenmaka-Twiga •African Goddess of Rebellion and Thievery•
Zenmaka seemed to hold her tongue for once, mulling over her reply before nodding. While the prospect of actually joining a group seemed fun, the goddess had actually never had a group before. Sure, there were the crews that she joined for an occaisonal heist and, partially, the few deities she could call allies, but she had always been brought up to fend for herself. Call it a lonely lifestyle, but that was all she knew. The mere thought somewhat made the guilt grow in her, but she didn't know if she should apologise for her comments; besides, she did have the knack for annoying most while she was being herself. Sometimes she wondered if she should just act like she was supposed to, but her pure rebellious nature would never allow her to bow down to such whims; overall, she was forever trapped in her own little cell. However, the sheer offer of something new made her open her mouth. "Well," The air of superiority and snark had left her voice completely, leaving the pure sound of a hidden nature. "You all seem...Nice? That's the word...And I'm ready to help if I'm needed." As if the words were awkward to say, she ran a hand through her hair sheepishly. "My...apologies- For what I've said in the past conversation; I usually say what's on my mind, and it's usually never pretty." A chuckle escaped her lips, just before she felt another slip of her foot. "Oh no-"
The chuckle changing into a yelp, Zen felt her second foot slide; resulting in her little balancing act being broken. Without another word, Zen plummeted out of sight, but the goddess managed to teleport herself away from harm just as her hand scraped at the floor below; finally allowing herself to be deposited at the door. If only she actually landed feet first, instead of a pose that resembled a scorpion faceplanting.
She had sent a small smile in Bucky's direction, merely watching the conversation that was held between Steve and Zen when she had removed her hand. It was then she flinched, covering her face from the sight before blinking at the woman's reappearance. Seeing her with her powers being used this way made Alyona feel like she was in her Xavier days. Her arms crossed below her chest, however she didn't do anything else. Her cheeks tinted a pink at the memories, eyes flicking downwards to her shoes as she stood more upright. "Are we to introduce ourselves?" she mumbled quietly in thought.
Natasha was quiet for a moment. "Doesn't Thor know you?" she suddenly asked
