I collect feathers — if that's relevant to the topic — although I can't identify any of them, except for the three I know came from a seagull carcass — RIP ;[ — on the beach. I would post a photo of them but I'm not allowed.

I'm not even supposed to be talking to people online, much less posting photos. My mom gave me permission to join the WCF the day they announced the shutdown. Just my luck. She never gave me express permission to make an account here, though.

Black-capped chickadees are the cutest birds. Oh, and those cute, tiny birds I always see in parking lots scavenging fries and drinking dirty water.

Turns out starlings are spotted when they aren't breeding. On a completely unrelated note, I did NOT see any new birds through the window during the PSAT.

•♕• @mongrel be careful about collecting feathers, the migratory bird act makes it illegal to keep any parts from certain bird species. i believe it means feathers, too, although im not sure? •♔•

And definitely don't collect raptor feathers, unless you are native american. That's illegal, which annoys me because it would be fun, but also then people would go around actively trying to steal feathers. Did you know...

It is very stiff and reminds me of the tail plumage of my late parakeet, Sprite, but denser and firmer, with a larger breadth. If it's illegal to keep it, it's a real shame ... It's a beautiful feather, one of my best finds. It makes the seagull feathers look scraggly. I don't live in a place with many large birds. It might have blown in from somewhere.

Oh, and the day before I'm pretty sure I saw a sharp-shinned hawk. I thought it was a kestrel at first, but no orange, and my second thought, Merlin, lives in deep forests, not near grassy areas. So that was pretty cool. Sorry for not setting up a club page, I'm pretty bust right now and I forgot.

No worries, sorry for poofing for so long!
Nice! I saw some merlins in my neighborhood a few years back, they're so cute xD
I saw some Lark sparrows walking to class today~
And some robins the other day, which was surprising to me since I'm used to only seeing them further north in the mountains lol

...but I'm pretty sure they were lark sparrows xD

I saw a horned lark yesterday, but didn't identify it until this morning. The illustration in my book had a lot more white than the bird I saw (its entire face was yellow and black, no white.) They're pretty.
