L.J could only snort in response to Oakley's question, head tilting slightly. He couldn't speak, because of the muzzle clamping his jaw shut. Still, he always found ways to express how he felt. Huffing softly, he just listened to the others talk. Until his muzzle started dripping. Again. Grumbling a bit at the stinging and burning, he exhaled loudly. If he didn't cause a scene, the scientists wouldn't notice his lack of muzzle for a while. Looking over at Oakley's cell, he spoke with that rumbling voice of his "I've been so much better before, but also so much worse." He was silent for a moment before continuing "How are you holding up?" Most likely better than him. Warm metal sliding off his face (which didn't harm him because of heat tolerance), body chained still. At least Oakley could move around.

Gaster turned his attention to LJ. The older subject could not see into LJ's cage, as it was next door to his own, but he was alwaya quite fansiated by the heat that he gave off. He didn't speak, rather opting to listen to his voice as he spoke to Oakly.

(Meh. I feel like her power sounds OP, but I won't use it in an OP way, if that makes sense)
(My only post for now. I have testing when the next hour starts x3)
Midget~ 22 y/o female A 5'10 height, with pale white skin and a pair of pretty blue eyes. Her hair is a soft brown, and it goes down past her hips, tied in a ponytail. Her right arm was cut off during a bad reaction to the serum.Abilities: Midget has the ability to absorb energy, to absorb someone's life-force. Chi Absorotion, if you may. Those who have powers though, it feeds off of that extra energy first (and no, she doesn't steal or take away powers). And, Midget will die if she goes a long time without using this power. Her second ability is Energy Manipulation. Whatever life-force she's stolen and stored in her body, she can release it and use it however she wants. It can become solid, liquid, gas. She uses her power constantly though, to maintain a replacement right arm. It looks made up of green guck, with strong, dark green bones under. The arm is made from the life energy of others, and a bit stronger than her left. For some reason though, it smells like mint. For both abilities, she becomes sluggish, slow and disoriented. For her absorption power specifically, she gets a headache after shutting it off, and momentarily will become blind and have eye pain. Midget is usually sweet as a teddy bear, and loves toys and shiny things. The scientists even let her keep a stuffed panda bear with her, because she cooperates every time. She comes off as clueless, and... erm... stupid, but she actually has an IQ of a genius, and then some. She's just super childish and too lazy to put it to use. When her powers activate though, she turns grumpy and kind of rude. It's cute to watch though, because imagine a puppy trying to look angry.

(Nah, you're fine, Smokey. As long as her powers don't become too OP, I think that will be okay.) Mikel frowned in Gaster's direction, watching the dog disintegrate. "Ya know...Gaster, you don't have to do that for our sake. If it pains you do create the dogs, we'll be happy with just having you here." He smiled then, "I don't want you to be in any more pain than you have to be for our sake." He tried to sit up more, to look over at Gaster better, but the pain in his head made him lean back against the bars. It was steadily decreasing, but the pain was still echoing around in his mind. Oakley hummed in acknowledgment of L.J. "Yeah, I'm doing...alright, I suppose. Though, just nervous." She sighed, "They haven't come to take me away yet..." She placed her forehead against the bars. She could never use her powers inside, because there wasn't any plant life available down there and it was hard to use her powers when all life sources were away from her. Though, she may be able to practice a bit and stretch her abilities... "Are you hurt? I can try to heal you, maybe..." She muttered, thinking about how to execute her idea.

"No," Gaster responded, "It's fine. It doesn't hurt much. It's just ... debilitating sometimes." He sighed, "I like doing it. It makes me feel stronger and they get stronger each time that I do it." He felt himself smile despite the pounding against his head. "Something might come up with that later, if you can catch what I mean."

"As long as you're sure..." Mikel then laughed, "And that's good to hear. That you're getting stronger. I mean..." He lowered his voice, "I mean...if we get stronger, we could try to...well, ya know." He wasn't sure if the scientists were listening to them down in the basement, but it was best if they didn't acknowledge their desires out loud. If the main doctor knew of this, they'd get extra treatment. And not good ones, either. "I've been practicing with my abilities...to try and stretch and see how far I can go. If I can stretch all the way up the stairwell, and possibly get a sense on when a scientist is coming, then..." He sighed. It was worth thinking about, that was sure. But, he wasn't so sure about how they would all work together to get out. It was something they needed to talk about, to discuss. But how, when their were literally people right above them?

"Normally my dogs can't leave my immediate sight, but if I get stronger than they might be able to get up and out of the basement." He mused quietly, "when do we get to go out in the sun again?"

"I'm not hurt too bad," L.J sighed "Can't say the same to those monkeys that took me earlier. So don't worry about me." Looking, he moved his gaze to a cell across from his. The young man watched as that green arm stirred, and Midget moves in her cell. She was hunched over, shaking. Then, a little door opened in her cell to reveal a cat. The gray creature tried to run off, but L.J looked down as Midget grabbed it by its tail. The cat screeched and yowled as it started to smoke, fur falling out. Only a few seconds passed before a lifeless husk was thrown from her cell, like a little cat raisin. L.J looked toward Midget again, as she sat back, body looking much better and not so malnourished anymore.
"How about they send a scientist in with you, Midget?" He called over, making her smile dryly and say "I wish. I'll get at them soon enough though." Turning away a bit, she moved to sit against her cell wall.

Mikel frowned, leaning away. To be honest, he had no idea. He wanted to cheer Gaster up, somehow, but he just didn't have an answer. It was already past lunch, and the scientists were still doing their daily experiments. They'd usually be outside in the "Fence", as he liked to call it, by now. "I'm sure it will be soon."
Oakley nodded in L.J's direction, noticing that he seemed well enough. Though, she wished she could help him get out of those chains. She glanced over at Midget and giggled nervously, "They'd sure have a bad time, wouldn't they?" She found the other girl's ability quite...interesting, but she was also scared of it. It was just...so powerful. If Midget chose to do something else entirely with it...even if it be on one of them or one of the doctors, or anyone really, who knew what chaos could ensue? Plus, it was...strange. Oakley always got this weird, trembling sensation when around Midget for too long. She was sure it had something to do with her abilities colliding with the other girl's.
(I think Oakley would be very VERY wary of Midget, since Oakley has the ability to sustain and create life sources, while Midget takes life sources. Though she is also her friend, haha. )

Gaster scowled at the floor. He moved to sit near the back of his fell, his bones creaking in the protest after having sat on the hard floor for so long. He stretched, and his fingertips touched the top of the room, he glanced upwards and tilted his head, silently noting down that information for further use. He tilted his head at the other conversation going on and he smiled to himself. Midget was the last person he would expect to be assassinated with death - considering he himself was a literal skeleton. "We should make it a new sport." He commented, stepping back over to the bars. "See how much damage we can do to the scientists before they can hurt us back." He smiled to himself as he wrapped a hand around the bars.

"Such games won't begin until we have freedom," Midget spoke, looking over at Gaster "We poke and jab at them, so to speak. Can't really do much else until we can really get at them." Glancing over at Oakley, she raised a brow. Her green arm grabbed one of the cell bar, so hard that it actually crumpled a little bit. She only looked away from Oakley when L.J spoke "We're not getting out of here anytime soon. Might as well try Gaster's suggestion, hm? They get to hurt us, so we should try to return the favor at even the smallest chance."
"We've already been doing it," Midget admitted with a nod of agreement "I could use actual human fuel for once. Cats aren't... my health food." When she removed the hand gripping the bar, she left icky, green guck residue.

"It's not like it would hurt anything..." Mikel said, rubbing his temples from the aching. It was starting to subside now, "They'll kill us eventually anyway..." He said this more to himself than anyone else. He was supposed to be the optimistic one. Sometimes he forgot that. "That sounds fun, though. We should try it." He smirked in Gaster's direction, but also paid attention to the other three at the other side of the dungeon's conversation. He was just glad they were okay. He nodded at Midget. "I understand, though. We need to find a way to...get back. Somehow. Someday."
Oakley felt a shiver go down her spine. Was this...normal? To feel this nervous around someone? Not that she'd ever let on to this feeling of hers. It was like she was afraid. Very afraid. Like her energy was being sucked out of her mentally. She wasn't sure what it was. She laughed it off and smiled in Midget's direction, "I'd like to see one of the big dumb scientists going in your cell. They wouldn't stand a chance." To be honest, she actually was curious about Midget's powers. How did they work? Did she hurt with it? Was it painful? Or...euphoric?
(sorry I haven't been on much.. ;; working non stop and just feeling exhausted from college work.)

"If we keep practising what we can do, we can get stronger and if we get stronger than we can fight back." He trailed a finger down the bar of his cage. "And eventually, we can take over this place." He didn't speak all of his thoughts, however. He knew, should they get too strong and too hard to handle they would be executed, and it wouldn't just be an overdose of the serum. He leant his head against the bars once more. "To be honest," He said softly, "I would rather go down fighting and hurting those bastards then let myself be shot up one more time.

"Nobody stands a chance against a freak like me," Midget snorted, looking up at the ceiling of her cell "If you have energy, it's mine. I just need to pick it up." She reached and banged on the little door the cat came through earlier, banging until it opened again. A ferret came out. Gently grabbing the ferret, Midget pet it softly, saying to Gaster "Take over this place? Never. I want this place destroyed. And any other like it. When I'm free, I'm going right for them. Just imagine... finally getting to hurt them back for real... not this small crap we want to do.." The ferret in her arms squirmed, not liking the green guck coming off its fur. Or the fact that it could die at any second.
"Killing them does us no good," L.J said, as if reading Midget's thoughts "We'd be no better than them." He huffed smoke when the sounds of the ferret squealing sounded out. However, instead of the raisin husk being thrown from her cage, like the cat, a rather... messy replacement was thrown. Red spattered the floor near the outside of her cage, and Midget decided "You crush the hydra entirely. Not chop off its heads."
L.J glanced around at the others for a second before Midget started playing with the stuffed toy the scientists let her had. Sighing, he said "Sometimes I wish you got the chains instead of me." Midget nodded a little, responding "I know. I need them." Turning, she watched as someone came to clean up her mess outside of the cage. As she watched, she called "Oakley, I can tell. I'd like you to tell me why though." Tell Midget why she was afraid? Yes, even though Midget knew why. The mutant just wanted to hear her say it.

Oakley was busy picking the textbook in the corner of her cell. Her cell just so happened to be the size of a large crate. It was like a cage, but one that would usually hold bears or lions. So, when she heard her name being called, she raised her head suddenly, nearly hitting it against the top of the cell. She murmured a few curse words, then turned her head to look over at Midget. "...hm? What do...you mean?" She smiled, trying to hide it. She knew what Midget was referring to. Midget could tell? That fear inside of her? She tried not to show it, but... It was like a magnetic charge. But Oakley wasn't sure if it was a good thing, or bad.
Mikel hummed in response. He completely agreed. They were probably all going to die sometime soon, anyway, with the amount of experimentation and serum inducing they were doing. Especially in the last...week? Month? Mikel couldn't remember. It was hard to count. It was hard to remember exactly when they first arrived at the place. They had to be...younger. Not much younger, but it had been a couple of years, at least. Maybe three. Or five. Who counted, anyway? A loud sound resonated throughout the dungeon, and two large scientists in white coats opened the door and walked into the room. They eyed everyone inside, especially Gaster and Midget. The one on the left, a scar along his right eye, glared over at L.J. He huffed and pushed the other guy forward. The other guy must have been new. He was skiddish and appeared to be sweating more each second he was in the dark cave like place. "Get the girl ready while I take the others out Top!" He sniffed, walking over to Gaster's cell. He smirked when he neared it. "Heya, bones. We got some good meat up Top for ya. Not that you could eat it, but still." He unlocked the cell, but an electrical current moved through the gloves he was wearing. They were high tech, only harmful to the "creatures" in the dungeon. "Don't try to move, freak. Or I'll taser you bad." The other new guy let his eyes wonder around the room, landing on Oakley's cage. He raised a brow but started towards her. She gulped, moving back from her spot, closer to the wall away from him. She would not be touched today. She didn't want to be touched today...

Gaster glared at him, not bothering to give him the satisfaction of talking. He did as he was told however, knowing how bad the taser gloves actually hurt. Of course, they weren't as bad as getting a crack in his skull, but he wouldn't want that done to him either. Best bet was to stay alive until they could all get out. His eyes trailed around the dungeon, eyes flicking between each of his friends. "Oakly," He called out to her, completely disregarding everything that had been said to him. He was used to the emotional abuse here. He could deal with that later, in his own time. "It'll be okay." He said sincerely, but really, he had no idea. "You're strong. You can get through it. We'll see you up top, eh?"

Oakley glanced over at Gaster, noticing the gruff doctor beginning to wrap a leash-like object around Gaster's neck--er, vertebrae. She could feel her eyes burning, hearing the new doctor's footsteps coming closer. Gaster was right...she could be strong. She was strong. She wouldn't let them hurt her.
Mikel whined as another doctor came in to clamp a leash around his neck too, pushing him out of his cell and onto the floor. He huffed, his head still in pain, though followed the orders the man gave him. This one was skinny but tall and had muscles. He could easily break Mikel's arm if he wanted. So, Mikel followed his orders. He looked over at Oakley and tried to give her a reassuring smile. He wasn't sure how much it helped however.

It was funny. Despite Gaster being a skeleton, his body still reacted in ways as if he still had his skin and muscles and the like. When the leash was pulled a little too hard he gagged and tried to pull away, which only left him choking more. He relaxed against it after a few moments of struggling, seeing that he was going nowhere and just allowed himself to be choked rather than strangled. He clenched his hands into fists as he very much wanted to strike out. He would have, had the others not been being taken too. Screw the consequences for him, it was them he cared about more.
(I just wonder what the first reactions of your character would have been when they saw what the serum did to Gaster.)

(hm...Mikel would have probably been really scared, but comforted him the best he could. Since he's supposed to be the optimistic one, haha. Oakley would have hidden away from him for a bit, not understanding what was happening. She admired him, since he was older and smarter. She then grew accustomed to his appearance, and finds it just natural when she looks at him now. Of course, she knows she'd much rather have Gaster be normal again, only because she knows that's what he wants. But, she doesn't mind his "bony" appearance now. Though, both Mikel and Oakley thought Gaster was dead when they saw just his skeleton. Oakley was probably crying and Mikel angry at the doctors, but then Gaster must have moved and they jumped out of their skins in shock and fear. xD )
The man--they called him Brutus--pulled at Gaster's leash more, noticing him trying to move away. "Stop squirming, ya freak. How can ya even feel this...?" He muttered the last part, gray eyes full of interest. He tugged on the rope again, pulling Gaster towards the stairwell. Mikel was close behind, the doctor not having to drag him as hard. He wanted to dash over and help Gaster out of the situation, since he heard him choking, but decided against it. It would just get them hurt, too. He'd check over Gaster when they were outside, and see if, when Oakley returns to them, if she could heal him somehow. He sometimes wished he had the powers to heal like she did, but he didn't. He got to feel what others did. Which was a living Hell in itself. He didn't dare reach his abilities out right then. It would probably make him pass out, and he didn't want to gain the multitude of fear, abandonment, and pain. He was already going through enough by himself. He didn't need the strong heaviness of others' emotions on him.

("jumped out of their skins" lovely wording there PG x3)
(also sorry for poofyness I'm working on assignments.)
Eventually, Gaster stopped his struggling and followed after, scowling at the back of Brutus' head, all sorts of insults on the tip of his proverbial tongue. He reached up to loosen the collar, but thought better of it and dropped his hand to his side as they reached the top of the stairs. Another Doctor, one who looked extremely worse for wear - his eyes were black and he had some sort of scales coming up his neck. He opened the door that would lead outside with a series of very complicated codes and a swipe of his keycard. Gaster noticed that he had some kind of metal band around his wrist.
He knew that this was the scientist that he had injected. He felt a flash of triumph that was quickly replaced by annoyance that he was still alive. The scientist lifted the clipboard that he was holding and sneered at Gaster over the top of it. He glanced at Brutus. "Can I take this one?" He asked, "I want to teach him a bit of a lesson." There was a sick smile on the man's face.

(haha, i try my best xD and don't worry. i completely understand.) Brutus smirked, pushing Gaster forward. "Knock yourself out..." He glared down at Gaster, then turned on his heel, chuckling softly. He headed back towards the others, watching as the other doctor brought Mikel and the others along. Mikel stuck his tongue out at Brutus, glaring at him with flaming eyes. Brutus reached forward and grasped Mikel's shoulder, a spark of electricity going from his glove into Mikel's skin. Mikel halted, shaking a bit, the current passing through him. He gasped, almost falling to his knees. It was...so painful. He coughed, trying to get back his breath, his eyes tearing up. His hair was sticking up. Brutus pushed Mikel away. "Think again about defying me, kid. It'll be worse next time." He grunted, then left the other doctors to finish putting the creatures outside in the Fence. Oakley closed her eyes as the doctor started to unlock her cage. "D-don't be scared. I'm only here to take you in to examine you." He mumbled, his eyes falling down onto his nose. Oakley noticed that he wasn't wearing a smirk, and his words sounded sincere, if only a bit wary. He was definitely new. The other doctors must have not told him their main purpose yet. Would he stay if he knew? "Don't hurt me..." She whispered, moving back away from him. He could be lying...he really could. She heard Mikel's cry of pain from far away and moved farther towards the wall behind her. They were hurting Mikel? No...they were probably hurting all of them. "Don't hurt me!"

It's done hurrah
I have another one to do though. I've been working on it most of the day. It's a pain.
--
Rather than use the leash, the scientist grabbed onto the back of Gaster's neck and dragged him the opposite away from the door to the fence. He struggled the whole time, lashing out and growling. He didn't once beg, and although there was nothing really wrong with that, he wouldn't cave in the eyes of his torturers.
When he was finally allowed to step outside, he was trembling ever so slightly. Those who knew him well would be able to tell that he was in pain, but by the way he snapped at the guards, he was good at hiding it. He moved over to join Mikel.

(awesome! good luck! I just now realized i put "eyes falling down onto his nose" instead of "glasses"... ;; why am i like this... i was so tired, bahaha xD ) Mikel was sitting in the grass, his hands playing with and moving through the grass underneath him. He "felt" Gaster before he saw him. A sharp pain entered his mind, and he could only feel...that. Pain. Darkness. He looked up and saw Gaster coming over to him. He noticed the way Gaster was holding himself. It was Gaster... What the hell did those monsters do to him? Mikel picked a dandelion from the grass he was messing with and raised it towards Gaster, a small frown on his face, "...you okay?"

Gaster accepted the flower with a small smile as he sat down across from him, nodded carefully. "I will be." He responded, looking down at the flower, considering it. "Sorry, I didn't mean to project like that. He rubbed the old crack in his skull, looking down at the ground. He clenched his hands together, shoving them to his sides so Mikel couldn't see them. The scientist had thought that it would be a marvellous idea to see if the bones in his arms or otherwise could be removed painlessly - they could be removed, but not painlessly in the least. After that he had used his arms for less conventual means. Gaster repressed a shudder. "Note for the others. If you get a chance to inject them, don't. It just makes them worse."

L.J was eventually brought out, without chains for once. And Midget... was a little late as well. She was being dragged out, and left a trail of red. Once she was tossed, she rolled a few times before just laying there. L.J walked over from his spot, and crouched by Midget. Blinking once, he grabbed her and carried her over. Settling by Mikel and Gaster, he set Midget down. It was then noticeable that her right arm was lacking. Missing. At first, it was just past her elbow that was the green replacement. Now she'd need another, because her entire arm was missing up to the shoulder socket.
"What did you do this time?" He asked her, watching as she opened her eyes as a squint. Snorting, she grumbled "Today just isn't my day." Her remaining arm twitched a little. To make a replacement for her other arm, she needed life energy. A lot. Glancing over at the others by her, Midget was tempted to grab them and drain them dry. L.J poked her though, and shook his head. Midget sighed, and laid on her back, listening as L.J said "Scientists tried to take her in for experimenting. One of them was drained a good deal too. Those savages pretty much just cut off her arm." Midget wasn't bleeding though. The energy she stole was used to stop it and ease some of the pain. Still hurt a great deal though. It would surprise some, because she never lashed out ever.
Looking over at Gaster, Midget, who was set beside him, reached her hand to grab one of his, moving it just a bit to see them. Her ability was to steal energy and life, but to do, so she had to able to identify it. Assess its conditions. Any damages. Midget didn't pull his hand into Mikel's view though, moving it back to where it was before retracting her own hand. Rolling onto her side, Midget muttered "I hate scientists."

Gaster let out a quiet, involuntary growl as Midget took his hand and pulled it out of her grip. "Don't." He muttered, hiding them away again. He wasn't angry at her really, nor was he afraid that she would drain him - that would be a better way to go than being killed off by the scientists. It still hurt, a hell of a lot too, and he didn't care much for people touching him anyway. One thing he was glad about, he thought idly as he noticed the blood, was that now that he couldn't bleed and as such, the scientists couldn't drain him dry like he had seen them do to others before. This train of thought brought him back to the horrible existential crisis - how was he even still alive? He rubbed at the crack above his eye. This seemed to now be a nervous habit that he didn't really seem intent on breaking. ρυмρкιηqυєєη13 I hope you don't mind that I am making him more like 'canon' Gaster but bc he really doesn't have a 'canon' personality, he's more of an OC based of the fanon that I've seen.

Hey Smokey Feather what would your characters' responses have been when they first saw Gaster after what happened to him?

Post by Smokey Feather on Oct 27, 2016 21:17:57 GMT -5
(Midget would have that "I don't give a rat's a**" attitude, even though on the inside she would be worried. And L.J would've shown open concern x3)
"Don't what?" Midget questioned with lazy sarcasm "Touch your beautifully sculpted bones? You're nearby other people, and you're going to be touched. In a non weird way. Get over it. I wasn't even going to do anything." Her voice wasn't aggressive or even annoyed though, as she didn't feel like butting heads. She had been curious as to why Gaster saw fit in hiding injuries. If it hurt him to be touched though, and if he said so, then she'd apologize. Simple as that.
Exhaling, green ooze seeped from her wound, slowly hardening to form a tiny bit of bone. Grumbling, she looked upward for no reason, having nothing else to do. She hoped they would escape soon enough. Everything was beginning to get to her. Except for the other mutants. She'd never get mad at them.

Gaster sighed, "It's still sore." He responded, eyes on the ground. He glanced up as Midget started to heal herself - if it could be called that. He was morbidly curious about it, but didn't outright say it.

(nah, you're good, Wingding. I don't mind.) Mikel noticed that Gaster was hiding his hands, even removing them from Midget's grasp, but said nothing about it. It wasn't his business. If Gaster didn't want him concerned about it, he wouldn't be. Well, he was still concerned. He was concerned about all of them. They were all in pain. He could...feel it. He flinched, noticing the sharp pain coming from everyone. He shut off his abilities quickly, as best he could. He didn't want to feel that. However, it was difficult. It felt like a vent; he could try his best to close it off, but there was still some of it that made it's way in. Like air. Like gas filling up a room. It was slow, but it was still there. Mikel sniffed and looked away. "Once Oakley gets here, I'll see if she is well enough to heal you all. If...if you need her to, that is." He liked it when Oakley was with them in the Fence. She usually healed them when necessary, and made them all flower crowns. It was his favorite part of the day. Oakley was being led back from the examination room, a bandage over her hands and arms. She was trembling. They had...they had tried to make her test her abilities. On some other guy...but he was dead. He was a corpse, and they wanted her to bring him back to life. She couldn't do that. At least, not yet. And she was punished for it. Her abilities were going haywire, until the tips of her fingers began to bleed and her arms were bruising severely. They immediately had to patch her up and send her on her way. She never disobeyed them, however. The new doctor from before was behind her, leading her up and out to the Fence. His head was down, and he was farther away than the usual doctors. She noticed he had tears in his eyes. What was his problem? Once they reached the Fence, the doctor unlocked the gate and nodded for Oakley to go in. Oakley did, without question. Once she was inside, she started towards the others, hearing the doctor locking the gate back up. But, when she heard a soft whistle, she turned back to look at the man. He was crying, tears falling to his cheeks. He pinched his lips together, stifling a whimper, then whispered something she'd never heard before. "I'll help you all. I promise. I'll get you out." Then, he left, leaving Oakley standing in shock. What...?
