Mara glanced around in the dying light. "Yeah, we should be almost there. Just a little further," she said, recognizing the area around her from her ill fated trip into the heart of Sparrowclan territory. She smiled a bit as she remembered the startled reactions when she had last walked into the Sparrowclan camp. They had not been expecting a rogue to just waltz into their camp like she owned the place. Now she was about to do it again.

Mistyfur nodded. "There was plenty of fish. We didn't really go after any other prey while we were there, so I can't really tell you if it would be a good hunting spot as well," she said. She glanced up at the sky for a moment before continuing. "Honestly, I would be fine with the weather staying like it is for a long time. It's nice this way." (Gotta love midterm season, but I'm back! Hello! ^-^) "I think so, too," Jadepaw purred, letting her head droop and her eyes fall half-closed as the warm air filtered through her fur. "Especially for you, spending so much of your time down by the river," she added with an amused huff. "A soaking pelt is definitely more fun when the weather is hot. But even in the forest, when I'm out hunting with patrols...everything looks so beautiful right now. I thought I'd miss the sparkle of the on the dawn patrols snow when it all disappeared, but the territory always manages to find a way to make itself pretty, doesn't it?"

"That it does, that it does," Mistyfur said, nodding slowly. She smiled a bit and flicked Jadepaw with her tail. "Since I spend so much time down by the river, maybe I should take you and a hunting patrol down and show you some of the better spots for fishing. What do you think?" She purred.
(Sorry for short response. Also, when should Mara and Moose enter the camp?)

(Apologies for the very long delay. Getting re-adjusted proved a bit more than I remembered. Hopefully weโll hit 200 pages before we know it! The trip was wonderful, though.)
The tom dipped his head in acknowledgement of the queenโs comments, before looking around the clearing. The azure, blue river, the lush, rolling hills. His gaze drifted towards the patches of trees. They seemed a bit taller than he had recalled, but they still stood as tally and waved in the weave as gracefully as they had before. He turned back towards Featherspark and gently nodded his head, โI canโt say anythingโs changed terribly much.โ The chirping of birds from a patch east of the river caught his ears, and he turned slightly to judge where the noise was coming from. โEven the wildlife sounds like it hardly changed. Iโn sure theyโve grown-up since Iโve last been here, but it sounds like they are still doing as well as ever.โ He turned his gaze back towards the stream and added, โItโs quite amazing that places like this exist. Their beauty, timelessness, only Starclan knows how theyโve come to stand, and for so long.โ

"I'd love that!" Jadepaw purred her green eyes lighting up at the prospect of another hunting tripโeven one that centered primarily around fishing. After a hard morning's work practicing her technique, she was eager to show off all of Onkรณdis' tips to Mistyfur. "Who should we take along?" She asked, her tail swishing thoughtfully in the dust as she swept her gaze around the camp. ( ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ As far as Moose and Mara, you could have then run into Misty and Jade on their way out, if you want!) ( spฮฑcั Glad to hear it!) Featherspark offered a gentle hum of agreement as she strode more deeply into the stream. She was fully immersed now up to her chest, her silver fur suspended and swaying in the water around her as if it posessed a life of its own. "You're right," she replied finally, the words nearly snatched away as her attention flitted from tree, to water, to bank, to sky, and back again. "It's some kind of miracle that complete randomness created something like this. It's like it was made to be found." She chuckled softly to herself, well aware of the relative naivete of her musings. Many a more cynical clanmate had chastized her moments of kitlike wonder at the world when she let too many of them slip. Still, she had a feeling that Mooncloud might not be the type to laugh at her for it. "Do you believe in all of that?" She ventured curiouslyโif a bit cautiously. "Destinyโor fateโthat guides our paws?"

"Destinyโor fateโthat guides our paws?" The black-tom remained silent for a while, his eyes distant in thought. โThatโs a good question, Iโmโฆ not entirely sure,โ he said, a slight hesitant tone in his voice. His head turned up towards the blue, orange-speckled sky, and his whiskers twitched slightly, as he studied the few clouds that one could spot. โI think StarClan does have a definitive and certain way in shaping or spear-heading our lives into a certain direction. So, I think in a way, yes, we sort-of do have a fated direction weโre meant to head.โ He turned his gaze backwards the queen accompanying him. โBut that being said, I think Starclan leaves us a fair it of decision-making to ourselves. As long as weโre not headed in a direction that is the very opposite of what Starclan sees for us, I believe we have a bit of room to shape our own destiny.โ

(Jade: Weren't the two of them supposed to be staying in the camp for a ceremony? I could have just misread some things though.)
Mistyfur ran her mind through who she could invite. She could invite Sootstripe, but she discarded the idea deciding not to turn her apprentice into a third wheel. After a while she settled on inviting Firestrike or Onkรณdis so that Jadepaw could show off her skills to one of the more skilled warriors. "How about Firestrike or Onkรณdis?" Mistyfur offered.

A small, thoughtful smile flickered across Featherspark's silvery muzzle. "I've never thought about that possibility," she replied. "But I like it. It seems...freeing, but it still gives us a bit of reassurance. I think I have to tell myself that there's some path set out before meโeven a very broad oneโin order to keep myself from feeling completely lost. This life definitely isn't what I expected back when I was in the nursery, or even as an apprentice..." Her voice trailed off as she felt herself diving deeper into her thoughts again. Indeed, the ambitious, happy-go-lucky apprentice who had once walked in her stead could never have predicted quite where she was today. Surviving harships and battles, losing her mate and raising her daughter and sonโshe shook her head. She couldn't quite remember what she had dreamed of during the fuzzy days of her kithood, but this can't have been it. "Still, I don't regret any of the decisions that I've made. I thinkโI hopeโI've done the best that I can." ( Bramble Ah yeah, you're right! I don't know where Jekyll went, but maybe we should just go ahead and start the ceremony, and then we can have Stagpaw jump in at some point :3) "Sounds good to me!" Jadepaw purred, rising to her paws with an energetic sweep of her tail and glancing around the camp for any sign of the two toms. Noticing the sun begin to dip toward the horizon, Sparrowstar gave her freshly-groomed pelt one last, swift lick, then slipped quietly from her den. She paused just long enough to let her gaze fall on Mistyfur and Jadepawโstill in camp, luckilyโbefore scaling her usual rock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan meeting!" She called, her voice ringing out warmly across the clearing.

Mistyfur nudged Jadepaw. "Well, I guess we;ll have to wait on that hunting trip. Let's go see what Sparrowstar has to tell us," she said, trying her best to hide her excitement for her apprentice's ceremony. Despite her best efforts, the slightest hint of a smile touched her face as she padded over towards the meeting place.

Jadepaw shruggedโcompletely oblivious to the events about to unfoldโand trotted curiously after Mistyfur. Selecting a spot for herself where she would have a nice view of the announcements, she flopped down on her hind end and gazed up at Sparrowstar.
Sparrowstar's eyes glittered warmly as her gaze fell on Mistyfur and Jadepaw. She drew herself up a few inches taller and wrapped her tail neatly around her paws as the last of her clanmates finished gathering. "We've come together today to celebrate a special occasion," she began, not quite able to keep a note of affectionate pride from her voice at the thought that another young warrior would be taking her place in the clan in just a few moments. "One of our apprentices is ready to become a warrior. She has worked hard under the watchful eye o her mentor and has proven herself to be a great asset to our clan." She dipped her head. "Jadepaw, Mistyfur, would you please step forward?"
Jadepaw gasped, her eyes practically doubling in size as she turned to gape eagerly at Mistyfur. Really? She asked silently with a **** of her head, her face alight with joy.

I thinkโI hopeโI've done the best that I can." Mooncloud tilted his head in Feathersparkโs direction, his ears peaked, now curious and engaged in the conversation that was at-hand. He nodded, appreciatively, before continuing, โAgreed, this is isnโt entirety the life that I had imagined, when I was a young-kit. But, things, for good and for worse, are the way they areโฆโ His voice lost its tone, as his green irises eyes stole a glance at the sky, before blending back into the valley, as the tom lowered his head to face the queen. โIโm glad to hear you feel that way. If it is of any reassurance, I donโt think I would have done anything much differently than you have, since Iโve first joined the clan. I think your kits may share that position with me.โ He paused for a moment, as his intuition scolded him for getting too deep into his own head, again, and allowing random tangents started weaving webs through his mind. โI hope Iโm able to someday be able to say the same. While there isnโt anything that I can say Iโm deeply bitter about, I get the feeling that Iโm not in total agreement with something that has transpired, in the past. I am not too sure what that may be but, I think that something I did when I was younger may have, temporarily at-least, offset how things were โsupposedโ to play-out.โ A small gust of air escaped his maw, as his wit started to allow him back into his own senses, and avowed that its discontent be both felt and seen. The tomโs nose and chest both swelled slightly, as he forced the air back-in, in an attempt to both process it and allow it to pass from whisker-to-paw. โBut, hopefully, if we had done something that would terribly mess things up, Starclan would give us a hint or let us know, so things can, perhaps with time, regain their natural course."

(Sorry for slow response)
Mistyfur stepped forward without hesitation, smiling sideways at Jadepaw as she did so. She padded over in front of Sparrowstar and stopped, waiting for Sparrowstar's next words. She ran through her mind all the things that Jadepaw had learned, and reconfirmed for the last time that Jadepaw was ready. Not that she needed to do that, the whole reason she did it was so that she wasn't grinning like an idiot for the entire ceremony.

(I am not good at this "active" thing, am I?)
Moose nodded, pushing her faith into this rogue. It might not be a good idea, but she was a rogue as well. Wild cats were all she knew. She wasn't sure how she'd fit into something like a "clan" for however long it takes for Robin to get better, but that's relying on if these cats will even accept them. The more she thought about it, the more doubt she had. She tried to trust Mara's word, praying these cats would actually care about the life of her kit, but it was hard after being alone for so long.

(Don't worry about it ) Mara glanced back at Moose. She saw Moose's discomfort, and racked her brain for a way to comfort her. She glanced around to make sure that she was still going the correct direction, and then focused ahead again. Finally, she looked over her shoulder at Moose. "Don't worry. It's going to be fine. They'll accept you enough to heal your kit. If they like you enough they'll even let you join them. They did that for my sister after all."

Moose glanced up a little bit, trying to ignore Robin's soft coughing and sniffling. "Join? Your.. Sister? You weren't born in Sparrowclan?"
She wasn't sure if that made her feel better or not. Mara had previously been a part of Sparrowclan but was kicked out for poor choices, according to what the rogue has told her. She hoped whatever fight that she took the wrong side of was actually serious enough to warrant being kicked out. If not, it might show this clan was harsher on outsiders. That was definitely something she needed to check.

Mara sighed. "No, my sister and I weren't born in Sparrowclan. We were rogues since birth. It's a long story how Misty ended up in the clan, and I ended up on their most hated cat's list. Are you sure you want to hear it?" She asked, glancing back over her shoulder to look at Moose. She had not really spoken of her life to anyone since her father's "crusade", and wasn't entirely sure that she wanted to. But there was no point in not telling a rogue she may very well never see again.

Moose hesitated a bit before dipping her head in a "yes". She did want to hear it. She needed to know the paws she was putting her kit's life into. "I just need to know, " she murmured through Robin's fur. "You know.. For.. Judgment reasons."

Mara ran her mind through some of her earliest memories. "Misty and I were born outside the clan. Our mother ran away from our father before we were born. Our father didn't take to kindly to that. He hunted down our mother, and when he found her my sister and I were a moon or so old. Misty escaped, I didn't," Mara started.

Moose blinked, a bit startled by the heaviness of the story. She had memories of a warm family growing up and, at the time, couldn't fathom how others could have it different. That was until she met the father of her kits and discovered not all families are full and warm. She swallowed a bit, pushing back her own memories to listen to Mara.

"Our father spared me what he called the small details, like the fact that he had our mother killed. When he found out that Misty had escaped though, he dragged me all over the place with him and his goons trying to find her. four moons later, he located her in an encampment of other cats. Our father launched an assault and slaughtered every cat there. Somehow though, Misty once again managed to slip out of his clutches," Mara said. She couldn't help but laugh dryly at this point. "I guess you could say that she got all the luck."

(Wow, okay, hey everyone! It's been...a bit of a long absence on my part >.< I finally got a free evening because my EMT class ended early, and I just wanted to jump back on and apologize for disappearing for so long without an explanation. College and life have been...wonderful but very, very busy. To be completely honestโas is probably obvious at this pointโI don't think that I can keep giving Sparrowclan the attention that it deserves. I'd love to keep stopping by to say hello whenever I have the chance because I love talking to you all, but I'm sorry to say that I'm going to have to retreat from my positions as owner and active roleplayer. If anyone is interested in taking over the clan, I'd be more than happy to walk you through the process, give you any code/info that you need, or offer any other assistance that I can. I'd love to see this clan thriving again someday :3 ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ , in my mind, you always have first claim, but I also totally understand if bringing a roleplay back to life doesn't fit into your plans (or just doesn't sound like fun) right now. So, if anyone is interested or if I can give logistical advice or literally just a chat to anyone, please feel free to reply or to send me a PM. Anyway, it's good to see everyone again! I hope you're all having a great year, and happy early Thanksgiving to all of my Americans peeps! ^-^)

Mothpelt woke up. She looked around before rising to her paws. She stretched out before walking out of the Nursery. She looked around the camp seeing most cats up and about either talking amongst themselves or eating near the kill pile. She would wait a bit for the groups to disperse, she was still getting used to not being alone. While she trusted Sparrowstar and a select few, she didnโt want to leave herself open to be hurt. Sheโd always be grateful to Sparrowstar for allowing her to join her clan, itโd just take some getting use to.

(Thank u for having me ) Mothpelt looked over to the other tom. โIโm doing alright.โ She replied as her tail swished back and forth. โHow are you doing, Bramblepath?โ She added after a bit. Her eyes continued to scan the camp for nonexistent threats. Part of her felt silly about the whole thing, but the other part, the part of her that remembered the scars and injuries she had, reminded her why she was like this. The tom talking with her now though, seemed nice. Sheโd figure best way to know if a cat is a threat to you, you interact with them and learn what you can about them.

Bramblepath noted Mothpelt's eyes roving around the camp, but decided not to mention it. He smiled and flicked his tail around the camp. "Are you settling in okay? It's kind of a change in pace from living alone, isn't it?" he asked. Bramblepath had experience with cats who had left their life of being a rogue or a loner to join the clan, and he knew relatively well the adjustment that cats had to go through when joining the clan.

Mothpelt w/ Bramblepath [ ๐๐ช๐ป๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐ช๐ถ๐ซ๐ต๐ฎ] โItโs a work in progress.โ She admitted. โMore cats to rely on.โ Sheโd left out the dependency aspect, while it was what she felt she also didnโt want to cause unnecessary trouble. She racked her brain, trying to decide what else to say. Spending as much time as she did alone didnโt help her social skills to say the least.
